Hello, I just moved from CT back to TX in autumn 2016 and think it's time to restart finding the other person for me that God has chosen. We all know these online introductions are hard to write. We want to be approachable, interesting, and attractive in a whole-person way (with warts, shortcomings, moments of grace, and ever striving to be better). I'm not sure I can write that sort of introduction, but I'll try my best. Here are my answers to CatholicMatch's suggested topics for the introduction: What are you passionate about, what do you look forward to the most? I am passionate about living a meaningful life. Most of my life I've seen that as a call to be a father and help raise the next generation. With age and some wisdom, I've come to see that we can't be presumptuous and try to bind God with our expectations of what life should be. Past experiences on CatholicMatch have introduced me to wonderful women who are unable to have children; and I felt pangs of shame for having previously looked past them. All that is saying that my passion is to be a father. I would love to help raise the next generation, but the years have taught me to accept God's will. What experiences and/or people have been the most influential in your life? Well ... the experiences and people most influential are the ones that push me to my limit and hold up a mirror to me to better know myself. These experiences have been varied like training for marathons, tackling difficult multi-year projects at work, and volunteering to build houses in Nicaragua or Belize. What do enjoy doing with your leisure time? Easy question ... I enjoy cooking and hosting large groups of people. I am an avid cook and have been blessed with enough skill to offer it back to God in a peculiar form of ministry. It's a genuine pleasure to prepare seasonal home-cook meals for groups of friends. And I have to say that my parties are considered a great time by all my guests ... for both the food and the quality of the company. I've joked hat because of the parties I throw, I'm called "The Adequate Gatsby" or the "The Better-than-staying-home-on-a-Saturday-night Gatsby." Regarding physical activity, I enjoy running (especially when the weather is warm and inviting). I enjoy regular Bikram yoga classes; to me there is nothing pseudo-spiritual about yoga. I think it's exercise and best thought of as "heated stretching."

My name is Duane. I am a little shy when it comes to meeting girls but I do warm up quickly. I tend to be a little quiet. Sometimes my honesty comes across as brutally honest and in certain situations I speak my mind. I like an honest relationship without drama and games. I enjoy the outdoors. I was raised and still live in the country. I grew up farming and ranching and work from day light to after dark so I know how to work. I have a job so I don't work on the farm anymore. I have good morals, honest, trustworthy, and loyal with a big soft heart that I usually hide. Don't tell anyone but I love to cuddle. I have a good sense of humer and TRY not to take things to seriously. I like joking around and being sarcastic. I enjoy kneeboarding, hunting, riding my 4 wheeler, jet skies, swimming, relaxing watching tv while cuddling, playing 42 and pinochle. As you can see from my pictures I like to be active and play sports but I am limited in that area because I was in a car accident that crushed my back. I walk with a bit of a limp now and struggle with balance while standing still so I'm looking for someone that can see past that and enjoy the things that life has to offer. I am far from perfect and I make mistakes but I do try to be a good son, brother, uncle, & hopefully someday husband & father. I try to be a strong catholic and I do accept ALL the teachings of the church. I don't think we can just pick and choose which ones we like. I have two older sisters, one younger brother, with 7 nieces and 3 nephews that I love like they are my own. I have an awesome family that is very loving and supportive. I have great parents that have been married over 50 years now. I am very blessed. Thank you Lord!! Thank you for reading this far and I hope to hear from you. God Bless!

Hi! I am Charles here looking to find a true soul mate to love and be loved leading to marriage. The reason I am here on this website is that I am looking for someone who is really ardent about her Faith and family life, a devout Catholic woman. I believe I can find someone of that kind here. Being deeply religious is essential for a couple to be happy in married life, I believe, and it also helps both the spouses and the future generations attain eternal life in the kingdom of heaven. I come from a very devout Catholic family myself and grew up in an ardent catholic environment in schools in that I went to parochial schools where regimented discipline was maintained. I was also in a minor seminary for a couple of years during which time I had a very good formation of my religious life and discipline in life. As for my education, I have an MBA with a major in Marketing and a Master of Accountancy degree. Currently, I am preparing for the CPA exam, while working as a store manager. I love traveling, cooking, fishing, gardening and reading in my leisure time.
  • Ken, 32 from San Antonio, TX

    32, San Antonio, TX
I am originally from Chicago, where I lived for the first 26 years of my life. Most of my family and friends remain around Chicagoland and I try to get back up there a couple times a year. I lived in Madison, WI from 2010 to 2016 while working on my PhD in Comparative Biomedical Sciences at the University of Wisconsin. I relocated to San Antonio to further my career in biomedical science as a postdoctoral fellow. I expect to call San Antonio home for at least the next 2-3 years, because that's how long my contract runs. The plan beyond 3 years is still up in the air, but I am hoping to extend my contract into something more permanent. In my free time I enjoy exploring new places around town; going to movies or sporting events (thinking about become a regular at the Missions baseball games); getting a good workout in (most nights after work); and I have been know to do a lot of bike riding in Wisconsin, so I am interested to see what San Antonio has to offer. I find that some of the best times I've had are simply talking over dinner and drinks with a few close friends. I am also an avid bowler, any day spent on the lanes is a good day.

In "My Own Words"... Hmm... Let's see... Well, I've decided to RE-WRITE and REPLACE my original narrative... I does not cease to amaze me how USELESS this part of the "Profile" is to the VAST MAJORITY of the users of the online dating sites, it seems that people DO NOT READ, DO NOT REALIZE the MAGNITUDE of the THOUGHT PROCESS that some candidates put forth into writing a little about themselves, and as to INFORM what they have to "offer" as a partner/companion/soulmate... Trying to make their BEST 1st IMPRESSION they could ever come up with... Maybe, it is because NO ONE CARES anymore?!?... Personally, I do not know what the answer is, nor the reasoning for the "disinterest"... "Sign of the times...", I guess... One thing, I can say for myself, is that I DO read your profiles and unlike most other guys, I am not going to "tell you the RIGHT THINGS" so I can appear to match all of your requirements... That's too easy... I would like to believe that I fit your profile(s), but I feel like YOU should be the judge of that... Finally, I would ask you ladies-- please feel free to share with your male-acquaintances, as well --to have the Common Courtesy of acknowledging and replying: we ALL want the MOST HANDSOME, ATTRACTIVE, SMARTEST, FUNNIEST, WELL-MANNERED, EMOTIONALLY/FINANCIALLY SECURE PARTNER we can get our hands on, however for the ones of us-- whom are FAR FROM PERFECTION --we still have some glimmer of hope-- as well as our dignity --that one day, we will eventually find our life-long soulmates, because I firmly believe that no one deserves to live the rest of their lives alone... The feeling of emotional rejection/abandonment is one that I do not wish on anyone... Thank you for reading & reflecting I hope you find that "Special Someone" you are searching for...
