  • Patrick, 56 from Richmond, VA
    56, Richmond, VA
I have a wide variety of interests. I enjoy outdoor activities. I like SCUBA diving, warm weather and vacations on the beach. I was married for 19 years and received my annulment in October 2008. I attend Mass regularly and my Catholic Faith is very important to me. I enjoy discussing religion and have no aversion to discussing my Faith with individuals interested in engaging in the same. The best description of me as a Catholic is “sinner” in constant pursuit of the absolute Truth and forgiveness. I moved to Richmond in 2005. I am a member of AOH (Ancient Order of Hibernians), an Irish Catholic Fraternity and a 3rd degree Knights Of Columbus. One of my favorite interests is politics. Political awareness and engagement define who we are and the path we choose for our future. Thomas Jefferson is my most admired political hero of Revolutionary times. Ronald Reagan is my modern-day favorite political hero. I believe politics and religion are very much intertwined. The greatest gift bestowed on man by God is freewill. Politics determine the extent and degree of subjugation of individual freewill in society. I have a BS in Mathematics/Computer Science from Ashland University in Ashland, Ohio. I am a Software Developer/Systems Engineer for a Fortune 500 Financial Investment Company in Richmond. I love my job and also love my free time away from my job despite the fact I’m on-call 24/7/365. In a healthy sort of way, I am defined by the work I do. I’ve been known to enjoy engaging in very “geeky” conversations.

Family and friends are important to me as well as honesty. I see no reason for lies or games. I'm looking for the love of my life but if I make new friends out of this I'm ok with that. In my free time I love to hang out with friends, play in social sports leagues (wiffleball, kickball, and dodgeball), watch movies, cruise on one of my Harleys or the top down in my Jeep, travel, try new things and recently I started getting back into running. As long as I'm doing something I'm happy.

Thanks for visiting my page. I realize you may have seen quite a few profiles already so I'll try to throw in a little variety for you... Some interests I care about are military veterans issues, playing the drums and improving my Italian. I studied in Italy for almost a year in college, and finished that experience with a B.A. in Italian Studies. To keep up this ability, I enrolled in a language class this spring to fill one evening per week. Not yet "fluent", I'm more comfortable saying I have 'advanced proficiency'. Splitting hairs maybe, but oh well. Playing the drums is pretty fun, you should try it ;) As a matter of fact, so is learning Italian. I am definitely a carnivore. I am a teary-eyed mess every time I see Rudy. I run and pal around with a veterans group called Team Red White and Blue. My fitness goals are to maintain a lean figure, burn (pizza) calories and HAVE FUN DOING IT along side fellow group members.. I joined the Air Force Reserve because I believe in serving something greater than myself. And despite our country's dysfunctions, she's still worth fighting for. In 2012, I completed an MS in Global Affairs from Rutgers because some of my long-held passions are learning about other cultures, about the world around me and about the U.S.' role in the world.
  • Ross, 28 from Culpeper, VA
    28, Culpeper, VA
God has gifted me with a very creative mind, which I work to develop in many different areas: writing (film scripts and prose), filmmaking, and even game design (board games and RPGs). Though I haven't done too much film work lately, in college I earned the nickname "Cameraman" because of my dedication to the art. I love to dance. I specialize in swing dancing (I volunteered as an instructor during college), and enjoy Contra and ballroom dancing as well. I have a strong sense of chivalry, in the full sense of the word. Chivalry is much, much greater than just treating women with respect. It's about being a man, which necessarily includes treating women with respect. I also train in swordplay, and occasionally with polearms. For the most part I'm rather laid-back and easy to get along with. One of the first things people notice about me is how quiet I am, but if you get me started I can hold a conversation for hours. I may be an introvert, but I am quite social at the same time. I am honest but diplomatic, and loyal to my friends, family, and Faith beyond question.
  • Brian, 33 from Falls Church, VA
    33, Falls Church, VA
Introduce myself...a fairly open ended box to fill in here. I'm passionate about my sports teams, specifically: soccer (playing and watching), college basketball, and college football. I love music and going to shows for bands I'm into. Love to eat and I am no slouch in the kitchen myself. I'm also fairly passionate about craft beer. I'm slightly introverted and am comfortable spending time by myself, sometimes even look forward to it when I've been busy. That being said I enjoy getting together and spending time with friends whether it's just hanging out or actively doing something. I think that's something I value more and more as I get older.
  • Tim, 22 from Annandale, VA
    22, Annandale, VA
Hey my name's Tim and I've lived in the DMV for two years now. I'm originally from Virginia Beach, but I moved here to buy a house in Annandale. I currently own a private security firm in Fairfax, but before that I worked as the marketing director for a healthcare company. I'm usually always busy with work, but when I'm not working I like to hang out with friends and play tennis. I also love swimming. I travel back to Virginia Beach a lot for work and to see my family since that's where they live. I love going back especially during the summer to go to the beach and to go sailing. If you couldn't tell, my favorite season is Summer

God goes, belonging to every riven thing he's made sing his being simply by being the thing it is: stone and tree and sky, man who sees and sings and wonders why God goes. Belonging, to every riven thing he's made, means a storm of peace. Think of the atoms inside the stone. Think of the man who sits alone trying to will himself into the stillness where God goes belonging. To every riven thing he's made there is given one shade shaped exactly to the thing itself: under the tree a darker tree; under the man the only man to see God goes belonging to every riven thing. He's made the things that bring him near, made the mind that makes him go. A part of what man knows, apart from what man knows, God goes belonging to every riven thing he's made. Christian Wiman, Every Riven Thing (2010).
  • Brent, 45 from Fairfax, VA
    45, Fairfax, VA
Well, I'm quiet at first, but warming up is the fun part. I like to stay active and exercise (running, hiking, green thumber, ...almost any other sport, taking the stairs every time). I try to stay healthy and like making my own meals, but of course a good restaurant is definitely relaxing. I look forward to helping others, especially when they're surprised (ie. birthdays) or just listening for what makes them happy and acting on it. My family is important and has been there for me since day 1.

I guess since I can't tell you my horoscope sign my sign will have to be the sign of the cross. I love telling terrible jokes like that. Hoping to get to meet someone who shares the same values as me.
