I feel like there is so much to say about me, yet so little at the same time. I grew up in a 'cafeteria catholic' family so to speak, where we attended church on most Sundays but we never took anything home from it. This continued until I went to college, where I completely fell away from the church for 3 years, while trying out different religions such as Buddhism and Taoism. However, the more I tried to find the 'perfect' religion, the more I realized that I had had it from the very beginning. Catholicism is what my soul had been searching for - it was homesick and wanted to come back. Anyway, I have now begun, at age 23, to truly involve myself in the church and actively try to read inspiring Catholic works so that I can put God back in the center of my life. I have always been quite philosophical; in fact, my degree is in philosophy. However, I plan to go to medical school after finishing up the required coursework and taking the MCAT, because I feel that God is calling me into the healthcare field in order to help others. I can say a lot more about myself, but I'll save that for our first date if you promise to tell me about yourself as well. God bless, and whoever reads this, I hope you find that special person for your life. I know God works on His time, not ours. School: James Madison University class of 2012 (philosophy major) I hope to go to either UVA or EVMS for medical school when I finish taking the prerequisite courses at ODU Things I like: cooking, reading (non-fiction, some fiction, learning languages, random facts, Tolkien, C.S. Lewis), gardening, being outdoors (especially in the Fall/Winter months), volunteering my time for others.

"I am a product of long corridors, empty sunlit rooms, upstairs indoor silences, attics explored in solitude, distant noises of gurgling cisterns and pipes, and the noise of wind under the tiles. Also, of endless books." C.S. Lewis I have door opening skills, kids/animals like me, and I'm well behaved in public (usually). Favorite diversions include engaging conversation, playful repartee, wandering around museums, visiting farmers markets, and eating at hole-in-the-wall restaurants. I love movies and books (I owe the public library a small fortune at any given moment.). Sometimes on the weekends, I like to hop in the car and drive to wherever to do whatever; but, staying home, opening a bottle of wine, and cooking together is fun too. My greatest superpower is choosing the slowest lane in the grocery store. Every. Single. Time. The defining moment of my life thus far is my conversion to Catholicism in 2007. When I lived in northern Virginia, I was an adorer at a perpetual adoration chapel. I just moved to the Tidewater area so I hope to find another opportunity for frequent adoration. When I was exploring Catholicism, I got to experience the liturgy in many of its forms: Eastern Rite, Anglican Rite, Traditional Latin Mass, and, of course, "regular" Sunday mass. I feel blessed to have had that opportunity and felt at home in each of those liturgies.

I am passionate about purpose and meaning. I am passionate about being a father and serving and helping others. I have been involved in public service for the last 20 years as a social worker, therapist and Navy Reservist. I desire to please God through my work, my role as a father and hopefully my role as a husband. The Catholic Faith is an infinite treasure of spiritual truth and grace and I'm always looking to identify and move closer to what God desires of me. I enjoy learning new things, I love to read, love movies, and I love sports.

I am a young man who loves to make friends. I've lived in Houston for the past 8 years and moved to Virginia in July 2016. For the past few years, I've been a full-time computer scientist and recently took up a position as a professor. I love spending my free time with my friends. But, I often try to find days that I spend all by my self, either watching TV, or out exploring the city on my bike. I do like eating out, although I don't like trying new foods in particular (I cannot eat sushi no matter what) :). I am Catholic, and love partaking in Catholic activities in my parish and the city. I love volunteering, thats how I've made several wonderful friends. I also love the fact that I work with and around young people. This was a big influence upon making my decision whether to work in industry or academia. Also I know that my students love me. (All my classes come with a side of cookies and candy) I like cute animals, but never had a real pet till now. I am looking forward to getting a small dog by next Summer. I've had a turtle for many years, but a little dog would be be wonderful. I want to travel. I've always wanted to but have not been able to. I want to go Greece and Rome (for now). I love Christmas and spreading Christmas cheer. Around Thanksgiving I start writing Christmas cards. Each year I post out hundreds of Christmas cards and as the years go by, the numbers continues to grow. In short, I may describe my self as always cheerful. Very few things put me in a bad mood. I like to be prepared for whatever I may have coming up in the future or else I do get anxious. I'm hoping to find someone who would be interested in knowing about me, and me about her, and eventually liking and loving each other, leading to a life together.
