29, Woodbridge, VAHi, my name is Jason. I converted to the Catholic church in 2008 on Easter Vigil. That night I was baptized, confirmed, and recieved first communion. My twin brother was recieved into the church that same night. My preference is to tridentine mass.
30, Alexandria, VAWhere to start I am South Korean and was adopted at 3 months old. I have lived in Northern Virginia my whole life and have been a practicing Catholic my whole life. I'm a 2011 graduate of George Mason University and majored in Criminology. I'm a big night owl and like going to adoration chapels at 1 AM or other random times when I should be asleep definitely not a morning bird. I'm a 2nd degree member in Knights of Columbus and I used to attend daily mass a couple times a week but it's harder now that I graduated than just going Sundays. I'm a more conservative catholic but I love the contemporary christian music used at mass as long as its prayerful anything but that dreaded folk mass with the tambourine lol. I attend a couple men's groups and when possible I'm active in the local Arlington Diocese Young Adult Groups. However I'm usually working when all the events happen which is another reason I made a profile on here :). I LOVE Surfing and hip hop dancing and currently attend Kazaxe a form of hip hop fitness dancing after all I am Asian have to have those sick moves. I also train several times a week in Krav Maga which is awesome. I made Catholic Match because I'm searching for my future spouse. It's hard to meet women who are practicing Catholics in this area, I find they're either taken or 55+. Doesn't help that there aren't many single groups in the area other than 55+ See plenty of those in the bulletin. As far as work goes I am self employed as a professional musician, I sing, play guitar, harmonica and tambourine basically a one man band solo act. I play mainly Country music as well as Pop, Classic Rock, Contemporary Christian and original music as well. My end goal is to be a Catholic artist like Matt Maher while also spreading a more positive message in the mainstream Country and Pop music industry like Carrie Underwood, Switchfoot, Skillet and Lifehouse to name a few. I believe this is my calling/secondary vocation career wise, 30% of Catholics go to church weekly and music speaks straight to the heart in ways words don't. I ultimately hope to be able to raise a family JUST off my music however Family comes first so I WILL make sure finances would never be an issue even if that means getting a "real job" I really hope I can find a woman who supports this dream maybe even join it Skillet, Love and the Outcome are fronted by spouses who perform together.
32, Arlington, VAI am a Catholic gentleman who strives to be a solider in the army of Christ. I agree with the entirety of the Church's teaching and aim to strengthen my faith and my knowledge of it. Friends and relatives charitably call me intelligent, kind, and old-fashioned. I'm conversational, warm, perceptive, mature, chivalrous, cordial, and generous; passionate when necessary. I can be a talker if the situation warrants, but am a good listener and pretty analytical, offering a thoughtful or helpful reply when appropriate. For as long as I can remember I've been a theater/classical concert-goer and have a long history of being involved in the performing, musical, and visual arts. I love reading literature related to the faith, be it historical, spiritual, or theological. I take great joy in listening to sacred and classical music. History is also a great passion of mine and I'm a fan of hockey.
51, Arlington, VAJust back after a hiatus, will update profile shortly (12/6/2016) I tend toward the creative side and like to be involved in activities in which people can participate. When I have parties they usually have some way for this to occur; whether it be a script reading, playing music by a fire pit, learning a dance or even a bean bag toss tournament going on while others just enjoy the night. Theology and spreading the faith is important to me. I recognize that we all have our different ways of doing this though. I work for a small national Catholic non-profit and am an RCIA director at a downtown DC parish, though I live in Virginia. I like being active and engaged more than hanging out at the house watching TV, though I do certainly enjoy watching a good flick occasionally and relaxing for a night in. Music is a big part of my routine. I've played guitar for 20 years or so, I play in praise - prayer groups a couple times a week. I find that if done well enough, people encounter God in the musical prayer form, and so I throw a lot of effort that way. I have been working on praise and worship songs for a bit. I'm kind of a DIYer when it comes to projects around the house. I definitely enjoy the home improvement stuff. I'm not a rich man though. If that is a particular value to you, you would probably do better for both our parts to look elsewhere. I am pretty laid back as well, and seem to have good timing with humor. I am looking for a relationship with a natural playfulness, good discussions and a creative spirituality that is hopeful. P.S. my temperament test says that I am sanguine, choleric. All my life I have tested as melancholic, phlegmatic. Go figure... I am pretty laid back, though engaged in a lot of initiatives. Couple of booklets, songwriting, voice lessons, RCIA, putting together a series of live events for singer-songwriters with hopefully recordings to come from it, and some efforts at fostering new prayer groups. Lots going on! :) I am comfortable with folks who are at peace with themselves and able to extend that to others.
28, King George, VAFirst and foremost I consider myself an orthodox Catholic, adherent to the magisterium of the church (as much as life allows) and ever in awe and wonder at her traditions, most particular the Extraordinary form of the Roman Rite of the Holy Mass. I enjoy doing things myself as opposed to buying a ready-made solution, playing strategy board games, swing dancing, and simply hanging out with excellent friends. I would like to consider myself chivalrous after the knights of old. I spent two years in service of the Church teaching at a Catholic Mission in Central America. I have learned to brew my own beer and mead in honor of the monks of old, and am in the process of learning to make my own cheese. I dabble in woodcraft and used to play the trumpet avidly, which I am hoping to become proficient at once again. As much as I could ever hope to describe my essence, my soul in a small essay, I would advocate getting to know me in person. That would be a lifelong venture, one that in many ways I am still learning myself.
42, Alexandria, VAHi! My name is Chris. I grew up in upstate New York and moved to Virginia for work. My faith is very important to me. Apologetics is a favorite topic. I like to work and have fun outside, exploring new places and learning new things.
58, Burke, VAI enjoy peace and quiet, conversation with good friends and occasional travel to places I have never been before. I am very passionate about my faith although I struggle mightily at times. I am passionate about Cleveland sports teams, baseball, basketball and football. I love going to sporting events and going to the movies and the occasional concert. I love classical music as well as progressive/classical rock. I am learning how to cook which is a real adventure...
31, Norfolk, VAI'm a passionate guy who can be either really extroverted or introverted depending on the mood. Sometimes I have big gatherings at my house, but sometimes I just want to binge Netflix all day. I am really enthusiastic about my interests, but enjoy them most when I have someone to share them with. I have traveled a lot, and would like to travel on a whim with the right person. I love the Church with all my heart, and the person I marry has to be someone who feels the same way. I am a very political person, with my politics deriving from my faith. I speak my mind unapologetically. I love food a lot, and so enjoy cooking, eating, visiting breweries, going to different restaurants, and so on. Apparently I'm a pretty good cook, too. Obviously there's a lot more to me than this, so shoot me a message!
42, Charlottesville, VAMusic, Faith, and a deep desire to make the world a less harsh, less evil place define who I am and what I try to do every day. In college, I was very privileged to study Music, and I hold three degrees in that field. I specialized in Music Theory and Composition and played trombone as my primary instrument. Today, I work as a Web Developer in Charlottesville, VA and remain active in Music by singing in the choir and cantoring at St. Thomas Aquinas. I also conducted the Gregorian Chant Schola at St. Thomas for three years. I have a deep love for the beauty of traditional liturgy (both Latin and vernacular) as well as the musical treasures of the Church, and I actively campaign for their restoration in the common practice of our Catholic Life. The reality of Beauty in God's creation has preserved my faith through the roughest of times. Communicating and living that Beauty in the liturgy stands as one of the chief duties of the Church in this world. Any small thing I can do to help fulfill that duty, whether by serving myself or helping others to serve, makes me feel like I am doing something to push back against the pain and darkness with which Satan tries to saddle the world. A thing that has really helped me in my life is something St. Augustine said. He said (roughly) that in a fallen world, God does not take the evil away, but He makes the evil less. I try to partner with God to make the evil less both by my musical life and by what I do in my working life. As a web developer, I create and maintain a tool that is used by over 250 people in my company every day--for several hours a day. By paying very careful attention to simple things like the placement of buttons or the progression of an onscreen workflow, I get to make this tool something easy to use rather than something oppressive and frustrating. (In my imagination, there is a committee in Hell that comes up with small, daily annoyances like clamshell packaging and doors that look like you should pull them when you should actually push. I like to conquer those annoyances in my work so that my colleagues won't go home and kick the dog at the end of the day.) In my personal life, I tend to be a hopeless romantic--but not a boyish or cheesy one. My ideal date would be dinner, drinks, conversation, and dancing (in my case probably a bit clumsily) to the timeless melodies of the Great American Songbook. If you think you would like the same, I would love to meet you.
23, Charlottesville, VAAfter 22 years, I still don't know enough about myself to know where to start! I just don't like talking about myself. I'd rather learn about others! But I do know and am proud of the fact that I am unashamedly kind, loving, respectful, creative, conservative, and Catholic! Self-employed economic researcher and published fantasy author who in enamored with history, philosophy, art, literature, music, and food! My leisure time usually involves reading a good book, playing the piano, or having lunch with some friends when we can get together! Looking for someone Catholic who is willing to share the good and bad and enjoy life as a whole. I'm part Spanish, Italian, and Cuban so food, wine, and family are the pearl in life's little oyster. Huge fan of classical music, film music, reading good books, swimming, playing tennis, and hammering out on the piano! I would love to call myself an "amateur" composer but I'm afraid I'm not even good enough to qualify as that. Nevertheless, I still love to write music! O and I also make killer homemade ice cream... just a passing thought... Otherwise, life is just an experience you're willing to live! Would love to hear from you!
22, South Riding, VAI loving getting outside for hiking, skiing, exploring museums and historic sites. I've always enjoyed reading history, sci-fi and fantasy. In my free time enjoy relaxing with friends playing video games and catching a movie. Music is a big part of my life as well, I enjoy music immensely and play guitar casually. I'm currently preparing to finish degree at George Mason University as a Criminology student and am looking forward to starting my career in Homeland Security thereafter. I feel that my family, both immediate and extended, has influenced me over my lifetime and has given me a solid foundation in faith and the importance of family.
24, Vienna, VAI'm a recent graduate in philosophy from University of Michigan and am presently living in the DC area working in Anti-Money-Laundering. Growing up, my family moved a lot. Before coming to Virginia, I lived in Alabama, Louisiana, Tennessee, North Carolina, Michigan, and Indiana. So, as you can see, I mostly grew up in the south. I'm somewhat of a homebody, but I love to travel and have so far been to Mexico, Canada, Switzerland, France, Spain, and Italy. I have a calm temperament and am always ready to have a good conversation or just laugh at the silly things in life. I prefer the countryside to the city, but I can settle for the suburbs. I play piano, love outdoor activities, and am somewhat a foodie by parental influence: which includes wine and beer (preferably brewed by monks!). I converted to the Faith from protestantism while living in Michigan. If you get to know me, you will probably hear a lot about that wonderful experience. I'm here to make friends, and if it seems right, somebody I can call more than a friend.
