43, Arlington, VAI love the outdoors, and enjoy hiking, kayaking, fishing, running, and cooking. I am an avid reader, and enjoy good conversation. I have a goofy sense of humor, and I like to have fun. I'm relatively new to the area, and am enjoying the things that this area has to offer-- I'm looking forward to discovering more. I prefer to walk into situations with my eyes open, rather than rushing in with my eyes closed and hoping for the best.
36, Alexandria, VAThanks for visiting my page. I realize you may have seen quite a few profiles already so I'll try to throw in a little variety for you... Some interests I care about are military veterans issues, playing the drums and improving my Italian. I studied in Italy for almost a year in college, and finished that experience with a B.A. in Italian Studies. To keep up this ability, I enrolled in a language class this spring to fill one evening per week. Not yet "fluent", I'm more comfortable saying I have 'advanced proficiency'. Splitting hairs maybe, but oh well. Playing the drums is pretty fun, you should try it ;) As a matter of fact, so is learning Italian. I am definitely a carnivore. I am a teary-eyed mess every time I see Rudy. I run and pal around with a veterans group called Team Red White and Blue. My fitness goals are to maintain a lean figure, burn (pizza) calories and HAVE FUN DOING IT along side fellow group members.. I joined the Air Force Reserve because I believe in serving something greater than myself. And despite our country's dysfunctions, she's still worth fighting for. In 2012, I completed an MS in Global Affairs from Rutgers because some of my long-held passions are learning about other cultures, about the world around me and about the U.S.' role in the world.
28, Culpeper, VAGod has gifted me with a very creative mind, which I work to develop in many different areas: writing (film scripts and prose), filmmaking, and even game design (board games and RPGs). Though I haven't done too much film work lately, in college I earned the nickname "Cameraman" because of my dedication to the art. I love to dance. I specialize in swing dancing (I volunteered as an instructor during college), and enjoy Contra and ballroom dancing as well. I have a strong sense of chivalry, in the full sense of the word. Chivalry is much, much greater than just treating women with respect. It's about being a man, which necessarily includes treating women with respect. I also train in swordplay, and occasionally with polearms. For the most part I'm rather laid-back and easy to get along with. One of the first things people notice about me is how quiet I am, but if you get me started I can hold a conversation for hours. I may be an introvert, but I am quite social at the same time. I am honest but diplomatic, and loyal to my friends, family, and Faith beyond question.
27, Vienna, VAI'm laid back but definitely adventurous, I figured I might as well try my luck on here since online dating is becoming the norm and I'm Catholic. I'm not overly zealous however. Other than that I enjoy traveling, going out with friends and even having a drink. I love coffee, I enjoy reading as well as video games. I like to stay active and work out, not that I'm a gym rat but I do stay fit and regularly exercise. I'm open minded, I like to connect with other people and understand them. It would be nice to meet someone who is also open minded.
33, Falls Church, VAIntroduce myself...a fairly open ended box to fill in here. I'm passionate about my sports teams, specifically: soccer (playing and watching), college basketball, and college football. I love music and going to shows for bands I'm into. Love to eat and I am no slouch in the kitchen myself. I'm also fairly passionate about craft beer. I'm slightly introverted and am comfortable spending time by myself, sometimes even look forward to it when I've been busy. That being said I enjoy getting together and spending time with friends whether it's just hanging out or actively doing something. I think that's something I value more and more as I get older.
22, Annandale, VAHey my name's Tim and I've lived in the DMV for two years now. I'm originally from Virginia Beach, but I moved here to buy a house in Annandale. I currently own a private security firm in Fairfax, but before that I worked as the marketing director for a healthcare company. I'm usually always busy with work, but when I'm not working I like to hang out with friends and play tennis. I also love swimming. I travel back to Virginia Beach a lot for work and to see my family since that's where they live. I love going back especially during the summer to go to the beach and to go sailing. If you couldn't tell, my favorite season is Summer
27, Woodbridge, VAI'm a little shy at first but once you get to know me i can be a very exciting person. I love going on impromptu adventures with friends( hiking, road trips, etc.) I love to read and learn new things. I'm a very curious individual. I love discussing new ideas and just having a great conversation. I've worked as a mechanic for the past 8 years so you have the benefit of having your own personal mechanic haha. You'll find me working underneath the hood of a car most of the time unless I'm out with friends or reading. I'm currently going to school part time at night in order to get my Information Technology degree. I always make time for friends and family and am loyal to a fault. My friends know me as the guy that can always be counted on at any time of the day or night.
43, Tysons, VAI'm intelligent, hard working, very thoughtful, very well-rounded, and physically fit. I am a foodie. My humor is definitely on the sarcastic side. I tend speak my mind and call things the way I see them. I believe good relationships are about good communication and compromise. Things I enjoy: + Spending time with family and friends especially my nieces, nephews, and five godchildren. To me, my close friends are family too. + Being in shape - I run 3-4 times a week and I weight train 2-3 times a week. When I run it allows me time to think if I am alone or time to have a great conversation with someone. + Traveling - (see the section below on travel) + Volunteering - I like to volunteer at a soup kitchen in DC and for a meals on wheels type program. I really like being able to give back to the community and to help others. Lately, I haven't volunteered as much as I would like + Learning - Currently, I am learning to speak Italian. I am already 100% fluent in Italian food. + Anything food or drink related - I love good food, good wine, and good beer (I am very passionate about these things). I love to cook. Most of the time, I am a healthy eater and I'm not into drinking heavily.

52, Ashburn, VAGod goes, belonging to every riven thing he's made sing his being simply by being the thing it is: stone and tree and sky, man who sees and sings and wonders why God goes. Belonging, to every riven thing he's made, means a storm of peace. Think of the atoms inside the stone. Think of the man who sits alone trying to will himself into the stillness where God goes belonging. To every riven thing he's made there is given one shade shaped exactly to the thing itself: under the tree a darker tree; under the man the only man to see God goes belonging to every riven thing. He's made the things that bring him near, made the mind that makes him go. A part of what man knows, apart from what man knows, God goes belonging to every riven thing he's made. Christian Wiman, Every Riven Thing (2010).
45, Fairfax, VAWell, I'm quiet at first, but warming up is the fun part. I like to stay active and exercise (running, hiking, green thumber, ...almost any other sport, taking the stairs every time). I try to stay healthy and like making my own meals, but of course a good restaurant is definitely relaxing. I look forward to helping others, especially when they're surprised (ie. birthdays) or just listening for what makes them happy and acting on it. My family is important and has been there for me since day 1.
