God has definitely played a huge role in my life from day 1. I am a very down to earth person. I really enjoy helping others, it's literally in my blood. I am a very driven person, mature for my age and know what I want to do in life. However, I also believe in the ability to relax, be a dork and have fun. I like to challenge the world with an old fashioned but fresh outlook, a true gentleman who always has the best intentions at heart.

I'm in the process of settling my life out from a lot of changes recently, but I could be happier or feel more blessed. I just started a job as a government civilian with the Navy, which is a continuation of my 7+ years of active and reserve service with the Navy. I feel more energized and focused than ever. Additionally, I just moved to Alexandria and really like it so far. I have a very eclectic set of interests. I'm a big sports fan (Sorry to those of you who are locals to the area, I support all Philadelphia teams). I'm also big into movies, Sci-fi, Fantasy, Action and Comedy are my favorite genres. I also really like playing soccer, running and am also getting into triathlons. I've also done a substantial amount of travel and would love to do more, I'd really like to go to Ireland and go back to Japan. I also like reading, playing music and listening to music (especially Dave Matthews Band).

Hi! I'm looking to meet a special person that I can share my love, thoughts, and time with. I definitely like to have a good time, go out, make jokes. As for myself, Sometimes I enjoy a good debate. I really enjoy having deep conversations about the big questions in life and about any subject while having fun at the same time. I live somewhat near DC so there's plenty of things that I often enjoy doing around here like going to the museums, Zoo, among other things.

My friends would call me an ambitious, adventurous person. One of my great passions is making lists and crossing things off of them. For example, here is my list of goals to achieve by 30: 1. Get scuba certified 2. Earn my pilot's license 3. Take up mountaineering 4. Learn French and German 5. Build a sailboat

What I am very passionate about are a few things. One of them is my family, growing in my faith and giving back to the youth. I believe I have plenty of experience to share with others. I love to help out whe I can to those who are in need. My father was I big influence in my life. Growing up and seeing my father everyday going to work and coming later in the day and make time for my family and I was special to me. It taught me the values of what a true man was and is. I was bless to have had a great man in my life. My mother is a big influence in my life. It is because of her I have Christ in my life and the values of the church. During my leisure time I enjoy playing with my dog Pancho. He is a great pal. I also enjoy outdoor activities and playing sports.

I am the youngest of three brothers. I am close with my family and always trying to make time to see them. On my days off I like to go for a long run or long bike ride, enjoying the nice weather, or if I am up early enough wash my car. I like to stay up to date on current events. I enjoy traveling to other countries, I went to Europe for the first time this past summer and now planning for Asia next summer. Also back in school for my masters. I have always been catholic but it wasn't until recently years that I really started to try to be a practicing catholic and incorporating it into my daily life.

  • Bernardo, 23 from Reston, VA
    23, Reston, VA
Hello! My name is Bernardo. I live in the greater DC area, working for a boutique strategy consulting firm. I am passionate about my Catholic faith, following world news, and telling stories. Originally from Ecuador, but having also lived in France, Sweden, and the US, I love to experience different cultures, learn about international affairs and practice languages, such as Spanish, French, and Portuguese. As a mildly hilarious, endearingly quirky, and thoughtful person, I enjoy bringing joy to others, accompanying them during good times and bad times. I like to give advice, to joke, and to quote random movies and songs. In fact, I have developed a unique propensity to incorporate songs into my everyday vernacular, "don't believe me, just watch!" Despite being a forgotten art form, I also have a predilection for Catholic pick-up lines, even if they're sometimes a little corny. Hope to meet a girl who will find them as entertaining as I do, it's okay if it takes a while, I'll wait a decade for her (hint hint, that's a rosary joke).
  • Nathen, 35 from Arlington, VA
    35, Arlington, VA
I come from a blue collar Midwest farming family. Born with a servant's heart, I went on many mission trips to help those in need. Carpentry skills are very useful when building houses for the gravely disadvantaged. Like many in the area, I've served in the military. Unlike many in the area, I don't name drop the colleges or degrees I've attended or achieved. Who am I as a person??? My mother described me as such: "A little boy sat on my lap, Eager to run and play, Not wanting the rest of nap, Desiring to express ideas and have his say. Growing up, exploring the world, Experience gained in community and school, Marveling at the beauty of a small pearl, Disguising with beauty the hurt of the cruel. Off into the skies you fly, Working through adventures to do your part, Willing to defend and die, While Momma holds this child in her heart." Being the world's best uncle is one of my favorite titles. In regards to faith, I strive to unit Christians and live my faith. I have a strong tie to Saint Zeno (obscure martyr saint), such that I'm open to martyr sainthood if God asks it of me. That might seem 'way' too serious, but I won't ever apologize on that topic. I'm the calm leader people turn to in crisis. Eyes turn to me in nearly every emergency. I accept the role God has designed me to be. I'll never carry the flag or lead a large social/political cause, but I've performed several water rescues, maintain crowd control, fought off armed muggers, and rendered first aid.....I live an interesting life. Activity wise: I practice traditional martial arts, I'm a damn good dancing lead, I enjoy hiking, kayaking, and frequently exercise. I'm also looking to enter competitive pistol shooting.
