I have a wide variety of interests. I enjoy outdoor activities. I like SCUBA diving, warm weather and vacations on the beach. I was married for 19 years and received my annulment in October 2008. I attend Mass regularly and my Catholic Faith is very important to me. I enjoy discussing religion and have no aversion to discussing my Faith with individuals interested in engaging in the same. The best description of me as a Catholic is “sinner” in constant pursuit of the absolute Truth and forgiveness. I moved to Richmond in 2005. I am a member of AOH (Ancient Order of Hibernians), an Irish Catholic Fraternity and a 3rd degree Knights Of Columbus. One of my favorite interests is politics. Political awareness and engagement define who we are and the path we choose for our future. Thomas Jefferson is my most admired political hero of Revolutionary times. Ronald Reagan is my modern-day favorite political hero. I believe politics and religion are very much intertwined. The greatest gift bestowed on man by God is freewill. Politics determine the extent and degree of subjugation of individual freewill in society. I have a BS in Mathematics/Computer Science from Ashland University in Ashland, Ohio. I am a Software Developer/Systems Engineer for a Fortune 500 Financial Investment Company in Richmond. I love my job and also love my free time away from my job despite the fact I’m on-call 24/7/365. In a healthy sort of way, I am defined by the work I do. I’ve been known to enjoy engaging in very “geeky” conversations.

My sister told me I should try the internet dating sites and I figured this one was the best match for me since it reflects my values and beliefs. I'm from the Midwest. I went to school there and continued on for law school there. I enjoy being outside hiking, playing in the snow, picnics in the park, and taking pictures (so I hope you like being photographed!). I love to travel, eat new foods, experience new things and I want to find someone who is like me. I cook, but I'm a better baker. I love trying new recipes because like life, what you put into it determines if it is good or great. I have a strong faith in God. I talk to Him every day when I get up, throughout the day at work, and every night before I go to sleep. I try to live my life accordingly and would love to find someone similar. She doesn't have to be a saint, but she has to try everyday to be a good person. We all stumble. I'm not perfect. I'm a simple man with complex tastes. I enjoy the simple things in life. Watching the sun rise or set with someone I love is more than enough to make me happy. I appreciate the beauty that God has created around us. I'm comfortable I'm in the city, but sometimes I wish I could move to the country to keep away from city lights and problems. I enjoy my career and I love my life. I just want someone I can share it with. The hardest part of love is taking the risk to fall. I've been loved, I've been left, I've been used, and I've been emotionally abused, but I've learned from my past and I've gotten stronger. I've never let my past experiences jade my look on life and dampen my optimism because God has a plan. I'm leaving this in God's hands so taking a risk isn't much of one if you believe. I'm an optimist at heart. If you want to know anything more or you're looking for a new friend, message me. =) And one more thing, I'm usually logged on on my iPad so sometimes it looks like I'm on, but I'm not. So please don't get angry with me if I don't respond right away.

One of the items I can cross off my life's to do list is running a marathon. In fact, I am proud to say I have completed 2 marathons (like one wasn't enough) including the Richmond Marathon (pictures attached) and the Mardi Gras Marathon in 1984 (I'm originally from New Orleans). Even though they were 18 years apart they were equally difficult to complete. I can also cross off making a hole-in-one in golf. Next on the list, writing that great American novel, lol! What's on your life's to do list? I'd like to find someone I can travel the world with. Are you that person? I like to stay in shape and enjoy the outdoors. I don't run much anymore, but I enjoy walking, biking, swimming and lifting weights. I also like to hit the little white ball around the golf course. I enjoy spending time with family and friends but am also comfortable hanging out by myself with a good book or movie. I have an 11-year-old son and I really enjoy spending time with him. I have affection for kids and people in general. I have had a blast coaching my son and other 11-year-olds in soccer, baseball and basketball. I also enjoyed refereeing basketball, baseball and volleyball the last 2 years. I was a teacher and college basketball coach before I migrated to the financial services field over 16 years ago. As a Financial Planner, I enjoy working with others in helping them define and achieve their financial goals.I enjoy giving back to the community and have become more involved with my church over the last few years and I also give blood on a regular basis.

I do my best to walk through through each day in love and service. This is such a tall order working to improve my character, finding ways to connect with others, and consistently offering real help. We live in a world where this seems so counter-cultural kindness, compassion, patience, and self-sacrifice. Yet, we still know the freedom, hope and peace-of-mind that comes through the gentle work of a faith-filled life. I have seen many instances in my life where truly good fruits stem from good people doing good works, and doing them with the right motivations. I have been so blessed a good family and genuine friends; a great set of professional experiences and new opportunities; strong health; and most of all the grace and peace that comes through Gods presence in my life. Of course, we all have challenges, but theres so much peace in knowing that God continues to be present. I happen to know a bit about business strategy, finance, and economics; and through His grace, Ive been put in many positions to serve the vulnerable with these skills. What a blessing! Im also blessed with two wonderful children who both live with their mother in Ireland. She and I have been going through an international divorce process, which we started in 2013. Its almost finished. The miracle, in the midst of this trial, is that our children are seeing good examples of a mother and a father. There is so much peace in knowing that they both receive good examples, and that we are consistently there present for the little ones. After five years of leading a single life, Im starting to step out into the dating world a little. This time has been a great opportunity to clarify my purpose, to grow in virtue, and to have a good basis from which to build a new romantic relationship. Any good relationship starts on the basis of mutual trust and respect. God reflects His love through the unity that forms between a man and a woman, and the joy and strength that emanates from the marital bond can be a great model for others. Now, I am curious and excited to meet a woman with whom I share this moral foundation, a lightness of spirt and a natural levity, and the comfort which comes when each person can really say, I give myself to you, and the wonderful journey of creating a new us.

Pretty simple guy for the most part...never been married (came close a couple of times but never felt deep down it was a fit). Love plants & animals, being outdoors, sports, live music events and the sun. Traveled quite a bit over the years - not so much now. Looking for a down to earth girl that helps bring out the best version of myself.

The details of my life are quite inconsequential... very well, where do I begin? There are many things I can put in here. I'm a son, brother, friend, and father of two kids. My experiences both good and bad have helped to shape the person that I am, and help to determine what I really want in life. I enjoy being involved in my church and spending time with my friends and family. It can be anything from a game night, to eating out, or anything else that sounds fun.

I'm blessed to be living in Richmond for almost a year and working full time for the church doing something I'm passionate about, which is music ministry. I'm hoping to meet more people around my age and build really strong relationships, especially looking toward the possibility of married & family life, which I really feel called to. I like spending a lot of my time making and listening to music and various kinds of art, as well as doing outdoor activities and sports, cooking food (and eating it), watching movies, relaxing at home, having long talks with friends, and praying as much as I can. Send me a message if you want to get to know me more! I'd be really happy to talk.
