47, Virginia Beach, VAHey! How you doin'? ;) Thanks for checking me out. I'll do my best to give a brief synopsis here, but the best way to get to know me is to talk to me. I am deeply devoted to The One True Catholic Faith...but, if I'm honest, I wasn't always that way and took my faith for granted in my youth. I was blessed to be born into the Catholic Church and attended school where the sisters wore habits and wielded paddles (my father encouraged the sisters to use them liberally). However, there was a rebellious desire that rose up as I approached "adulthood," i.e., what I thought was adulthood...yada, yada, yada,...by the grace of God I experienced my 'prodigal son' moment and realized my need of repentance. That was late 2000 or early 2001 and it wasn't a miraculous, total and instantaneous change, but has been a long road with many challenges. I still have a long way to go, but have come a long way from the bartending/party-like-a-rockstar/Animal House lifestyle I once embraced. In 2005, I began attending daily mass and in 2007 I found the courage to attend a traditional latin mass, which is when I really began to deepen my knowledge and understanding of, and true devotion to, The Faith. In '08 or '09, the newly assigned pastor to my parish agreed to be my spiritual director and has helped me immensely since then. I learned to serve low mass, and do so often during the week, unless a change in the mass schedule or my work schedule prevents it. I posted some pictures of the pilgrimage to Italy I accompanied my spiritual director on in 2015 where I was privileged to serve mass in many beautiful churches throughout Italy. It was truly awe-inspiring and I treasure those memories. The only thing missing was a spouse who shares my passion and enthusiasm for the Catholic Faith, culture and traditions. In 2015, the property next to my parish became available, so I seized the opportunity and now I can walk to church in a little less than 200 steps (if I take the long way). I did the best I could to find duck-blind draperies that matched the camouflage pattern wall paper, but the house could still really use a woman's touch. Can you finish taming the beast? :)
56, Fairfax, VAI have lived in the Northern Virginia area most of my life, my family and friends are all here and I have a strong social network that I am involved in regularly. I have a small healthcare business in the DC area. I also love to build and restore/remodel houses. I can be impulsive, spontaneous and like to be on the go most of the time. I am often finding new places to travel and explore in and around this area. I have four children and although they don't live with me full time, I am very involved in their lives as many days and nights a week as I can. I am also a big sports fan and have followed the Redskins since I was a child. I travel to Rehoboth several times each summer. Dining out and movies are a favorite pastime.
33, Fredericksburg, VAI love God, wine, travel, history, and the Mass. Other than God, my Catholic Faith is the most important thing in my life. I love attending mass, especially the Traditional Latin Mass/Extraordinary Form. I enjoy praying the Liturgy of the Hours. I love to travel, whether to see the world or the last few years, on pilgrimage to Portugal (Fatima), Spain (Santiago de Compostela), France (Lourdes), England (Canterbury, Walsingham, Westminister). It is a awesome experience to see new places, try new food, and experience history.
27, Virginia Beach, VA"Whatever you do, do from the heart, as for the Lord and not for others." -Col. 3:23 I strive to incorporate a ministry approach into everything I do. I currently go to graduate school full-time, work with a financial firm part-time, and coach youth volleyball in my spare time. I always go into each situation with clients or players praying, "How can I best serve this client/player and bring them closer to You, Lord?" I'm very humbled by the opportunities and platforms God has given me to spread His name and His word.
25, Fairfax, VAI work in tourism in Washington D.C. I'm going to do graduate studies at Catholic University this Fall! The most influential people in my life were my family and friends. I enjoy running and reading in my free time.
27, Mt Vernon, VAI'm a full time graduate student, pursuing a doctorate in clinical psychology, with a special focus on cognitive assessment. When I'm not plugging away at my dissertation or working at a psychiatric hospital, I enjoy spending time with my friends, playing guitar, and reading. I'm an introvert, in the sense that I find parties and group activities tiring; but, I've recently determined to develope my sociability. So far so good ;) .
52, Ashburn, VAGod goes, belonging to every riven thing he's made sing his being simply by being the thing it is: stone and tree and sky, man who sees and sings and wonders why God goes. Belonging, to every riven thing he's made, means a storm of peace. Think of the atoms inside the stone. Think of the man who sits alone trying to will himself into the stillness where God goes belonging. To every riven thing he's made there is given one shade shaped exactly to the thing itself: under the tree a darker tree; under the man the only man to see God goes belonging to every riven thing. He's made the things that bring him near, made the mind that makes him go. A part of what man knows, apart from what man knows, God goes belonging to every riven thing he's made. Christian Wiman, Every Riven Thing (2010).
