  • Paul, 23 from Herndon, VA
    23, Herndon, VA
I'm 23 years old and recently moved from Illinois to Virginia to start my career as a software developer. I'm fairly new to the state and live in Herndon (and possibly moving to Alexandria) ,which reminds me a lot of my hometown Roselle. I'd describe myself as a person with a good sense of humor, who enjoys being active, going to new places, trying new things, and being around good company. I've been a Catholic all my life and I strive to try and live out what it means to be one among my friends and co-workers. On my down time, I love playing the guitar, singing, working out, running, playing sports (especially basketball, football, volleyball), talking about sports, watching/talking about movies or a series, and once in a I try to cook and learn how to cook. I'm a bit of a bookworm. I recently started to re-read J.R.R Tolkien's classic Lord of the Rings Trilogy. It's been great so far and I just finished reading the second book and about to start on third one. In addition, I'm also reading Mathew Kelly's Rediscover Catholicism. As of now I'm focus on getting a good foothold on my career as a software developer, but I'm open to developing a relationship with someone. See what I did there? hahaha. Finally, I'm a big Chicago sports fan, except for the White Sox, so it's been a little tough trying to find other fans to watch a game with or talk with around the DC area. However, I can manage, and plus, the Nats have started to grow on me. But it's only mainly because Bryce Harper plays for them.

Hi my name is Tom . Tommy to family and close friends . I grew up in New York and made it to 9th grade in catholic school before switching to public . As class clown I received the wrath of the nuns on a daily basis ( I deserved it ) but also a good edukation....kidding . I grew up in the sex, drugs and rock and roll culture and I'm sad to say fell away from the faith for many years . I still would pray and occasionally go to mass but for the most part was a horrible example of a catholic . Through my father's prayers , being with him through his passing and most of all the grace and mercy of God I have been brought back to the faith .Mother Angelica and EWTN have opened my mind and heart to the fullness of the catholic faith and Jesus' unfathomable mercy . With that said I'm far from being a saint but I try . I do find it hard in this secular culture to find like minded people and I guess that is why I'm here .I enjoy the outdoors . I love a good cookout and horse shoes or some type of goofy sport . Camping is fun . I love the beach . I wish it was a little closer though . Travel of any kind is awesome . I like to read ,Koontz,King,Louis L'Mour, for leisure and have been reading some religious books from Scott Hahn ,G.K. Chesterton and the Catechism . I'm not a sports fanatic but I do follow the Nat's and O's and love going to Baseball games . I like live music and theater and I check the paper to see what kind of events are taken place on the weekend .I'm a huge fan of wildlife and science . I used to be a professional Photographer and still like to take pics . I enjoy going to cathedrals . The basilicas' in Dc and Baltimore are beautiful . Well thats enough about me (probably to much )God Bless !

Hello and thank you for visiting my profile! I've decided to give Catholic Match an honest try. It's really difficult to meet like-minded people in today's world and I think this is a good place to start. I"m a twenty-something government professional who's hard-working, witty, and deeply committed to the Catholic Faith. My hobbies include reading, coffee, music, exercise, fragrance collecting, and sleeping. I tend to take joy in the little things and appreciate the beauty of the things around me. Feel free to ask if you'd like to know more!

  • Ian, 26 from Alexandria, VA
    26, Alexandria, VA
Hi, my name is Ian. I love music, movies, horseback riding (even though it's been ages since I've done it. I have recently left the Marine Corps. I am proud to say that I served my country. I am somewhat quiet at first, but once I'm comfortable I can be a little spontaneous. While i do make the occasional schedule I much more prefer to be random and just go with the flow. I like meeting people and getting to know them. Who knows maybe something will come of it. If I've captured your interested please message me.

Hello ! My lambs are sixteen and fourteen and are getting a top notch Christ centered classical education. Us three are quite happy here at our eighteenth century farm house complete with thirty one grave stones. Our home is our sanctuary and we absolutely love coming home. My deceased bride and I built a carriage house to mirror our home -stone and tin roof. I now have a nice wood working shop in said carriage house. "Good stuff" as my Pop would say :) Us three have a terrific time together with much prayer, humor and laughter! We always make clean fun of each other. I am the traditional man that takes care of, loves, and defends his bride and children. Men need to be adored and women need to be loved. Walking in His path us three. Grace and Peace.
  • Nathen, 35 from Arlington, VA
    35, Arlington, VA
I come from a blue collar Midwest farming family. Born with a servant's heart, I went on many mission trips to help those in need. Carpentry skills are very useful when building houses for the gravely disadvantaged. Like many in the area, I've served in the military. Unlike many in the area, I don't name drop the colleges or degrees I've attended or achieved. Who am I as a person??? My mother described me as such: "A little boy sat on my lap, Eager to run and play, Not wanting the rest of nap, Desiring to express ideas and have his say. Growing up, exploring the world, Experience gained in community and school, Marveling at the beauty of a small pearl, Disguising with beauty the hurt of the cruel. Off into the skies you fly, Working through adventures to do your part, Willing to defend and die, While Momma holds this child in her heart." Being the world's best uncle is one of my favorite titles. In regards to faith, I strive to unit Christians and live my faith. I have a strong tie to Saint Zeno (obscure martyr saint), such that I'm open to martyr sainthood if God asks it of me. That might seem 'way' too serious, but I won't ever apologize on that topic. I'm the calm leader people turn to in crisis. Eyes turn to me in nearly every emergency. I accept the role God has designed me to be. I'll never carry the flag or lead a large social/political cause, but I've performed several water rescues, maintain crowd control, fought off armed muggers, and rendered first aid.....I live an interesting life. Activity wise: I practice traditional martial arts, I'm a damn good dancing lead, I enjoy hiking, kayaking, and frequently exercise. I'm also looking to enter competitive pistol shooting.

God goes, belonging to every riven thing he's made sing his being simply by being the thing it is: stone and tree and sky, man who sees and sings and wonders why God goes. Belonging, to every riven thing he's made, means a storm of peace. Think of the atoms inside the stone. Think of the man who sits alone trying to will himself into the stillness where God goes belonging. To every riven thing he's made there is given one shade shaped exactly to the thing itself: under the tree a darker tree; under the man the only man to see God goes belonging to every riven thing. He's made the things that bring him near, made the mind that makes him go. A part of what man knows, apart from what man knows, God goes belonging to every riven thing he's made. Christian Wiman, Every Riven Thing (2010).
