Update: Moving back to Virginia. Fredericksburg specifically. Hope to see you there! I'm an honest guy who values my friends and family. It isn't uncommon for me to drop everything to help someone out. I have never met a stranger - within 5 minutes I have a new friend. I love my faith, and strive to constantly grow. Divine Mercy and the Diary of St. Faustina are especial favorites, which ties into my love of Russian and Polish history. I have a master's degree in Russian Area Studies. This translates into many hours watching the history channel - after all, it's not tv- it's education! Drop me a line if you need a recipe or two...

"Maybe what you can do, I can't do. Maybe what I can do, you can't do. But together, we can do something wonderful for the kingdom of God." I have received love and I am very eager to share it with that right person. I have a great family and I try to be there for them throughout the year, not just at holidays. Family has been there for me and I try to return the favor. I smile a lot and am usually in a good mood. I realize that faith and life are wonderful things to be LIVED EVERY DAY and our faith is not entirely a big "to do" list or a "don't do" list. Writing is something I truly enjoy. I started by keeping a journal when I was in college and in my early twenties. Non-fiction is what I write and I had a few articles published in small, specialized papers in the late 1990s. Other things that enrich my life include travel, hiking, bowling, getting to know people, reading and many other things.

Honesty I really don't know what to write. But since I have to write something that will catch someones eyes, here it goes. I am a fun guy. I am renewing my life and starting over. I used to be a chef but now I am looking at a new direction with the help of God. I love my faith and I am very devoted to the church. I love living a healthy and positive lifestyle without any negativity. I love to do positive activities that will enhance my life spiritually, mentally, emotionally, and physically. I am open to what God is leading me to and where he is leading me to. I wake up every morning excited to see what the day will bring. I am not perfect and I have not lived a perfect life but I know there is always a comeback in life. It's never too late to come back to God. So here I am.

    31, Norfolk, VA
I'm a passionate guy who can be either really extroverted or introverted depending on the mood. Sometimes I have big gatherings at my house, but sometimes I just want to binge Netflix all day. I am really enthusiastic about my interests, but enjoy them most when I have someone to share them with. I have traveled a lot, and would like to travel on a whim with the right person. I love the Church with all my heart, and the person I marry has to be someone who feels the same way. I am a very political person, with my politics deriving from my faith. I speak my mind unapologetically. I love food a lot, and so enjoy cooking, eating, visiting breweries, going to different restaurants, and so on. Apparently I'm a pretty good cook, too. Obviously there's a lot more to me than this, so shoot me a message!

I'm a full time graduate student, pursuing a doctorate in clinical psychology, with a special focus on cognitive assessment. When I'm not plugging away at my dissertation or working at a psychiatric hospital, I enjoy spending time with my friends, playing guitar, and reading. I'm an introvert, in the sense that I find parties and group activities tiring; but, I've recently determined to develope my sociability. So far so good ;) .
  • Ian, 20 from McLean, VA

    20, McLean, VA
Hi, I'm Ian. I'm 20 and have one younger brother. After taking a post-high school gap year to earn some money and show I can hold a job (check!), I'm currently in full time college planning to major in government. I'm doing this because I want to find a way to serve my country and community after I graduate. So who am I? I am someone who thinks that the most important things in life are my faith, my family (the one I was born into and the one I hope to have someday), and love for others. I try to keep things in that order, but nobody's perfect, right? I'm a lifelong New Englander, but I was born in the Bavarian Alps when my parents were stationed there, and I love that part of the world. I'm a proud Eagle Scout and love doing things in the outdoors in any season. I also love movies and live performances, especially musicals and operas. My favorite restaurants are Asian. I love sushi and the hibachi show never gets old. Perhaps my favorite thing to do is to share my interests, and explore new ones, with people I care about. I enjoy talking about current events, history, and books, and I also like to learn about what other people care about. I also savor a good joke or riddle. The cornier the better! Oh yeah, I also love to dance, so it would be great if you want to close down the dance floor with me.

  • Lawrence, 76 from Portsmouth, VA

    76, Portsmouth, VA
I am passionate about doing, being, and becoming that destiny God chose for me. This passion came into focus over 25 years ago when I left what I call the "rat race" of greed and materialism and devoted my life to discovering what my role would be: "To do what I could do to help the most people." At that point and as a man of science, my gut was telling me that my role would have to go much deeper than just science. I would have to enter the depths of my soul, searching to find these answers. I knew I could find some good answers. I could feel it coming from depths of my body, my soul and my spirit. And they came, answers to questions I perceived God was asking me to consider namely: 1. Who are we? 2. Where are we now? 3. Where have we been? 4. Where are we going? By searching and researching with meditation and prayer answers began to emerge and converge. This revelation unfolded as an integration. The integration of science and soul evolving as a unity of the two and becoming a non-dual spiritual union focused on working together with God. It became clear to me that we needed to become more involved in seeking wholeness and healing not only personally but together with others. My personal transformation began in my mid thirties as I began reading scripture as a lector and then in depth using the Jerusalem Bible as my guide. As a scientist my hero was Albert Einstein. But the real fire in my belly was ignited as I began to read the works of the Jesuit Pierre Teilhard de Chardin. In concert with this effort the work of Carl Jung the noted depth psychologist played an important role. But the major influence in my work was a deep desire to more fully understand the mission and role of Christ Jesus. The seeds having been planted, by my late forties, growth and fruitful ideas began to emerge . I began to travel, interact and share the results with those who might listen or resonate with them. Writings in journals, stories, prose, poetry, and a multitude of research reports began to find their way on the internet. The essential message of my work is unity a unity based on a deeper understanding of the Archetypal Christ. Today, I am moved everytime I hear Pope Francis speak because the base of his message in my opinion is unity. Yes, I am a serious person with a serious mission. But I deeply love people and enjoy their company as well. I celebrate the reality of Christmas everyday. Looking for that special someone to share my joy!
