I'm an Indian American Catholic guy from Kansas (which is really fun to say, and I might very well be the only person on this site who can claim that identity). With that kind of background, I pride myself on living a life that is anything but ordinary. Although I'll never stop being a Midwesterner, I left home when I was 18, went to college in Northern California, and I can literally say that I have lived in every region of the country except the Mountain West. I've lived in the Washington, DC area since late 2005. I like living in DC, and I enjoy the variety of cultural activities and restaurants that one can experience living here. For work, I'm an IT consultant for a global professional services firm. I am definitely committed to professional excellence, but I am in no way married to my career. I have always worked hard to achieve balance between work and home, and to make time for what's really important. When I'm not at work, I enjoy a variety of hobbies, such as playing piano, cooking, exercising, watching movies, and karaoke (what I lack in singing ability, I more than make up for in enthusiasm)! I've also recently discovered the joy of gardening. As far as faith goes, I consider myself to be a serious Catholic who has grown quite a bit in the faith during the last several years. However, I'm also cognizant of the fact that all of us are imperfect in the eyes of God. None of us can do this without the love and help of Christ, hence there is always room for each of us to improve. I've also recently started volunteering with a food distribution ministry for the needy, and I'm hard at work cultivating a service mentality. I'm happy to say more, but it would be a good idea to get to know me first. :)

I believe that a person's wealth should be measured by the quality of his or her friends, and from that perspective, I feel wealthy indeed. My recent conversion is most important to me, and I have joined this site because I would like to be close with someone who shares my faith and my values . . . and my sense of humor, because that is definitely a key part of my personality. My character has been shaped by events that have challenged me both academically and physically. As a result, I have become a solid citizen, with a strong sense of right and wrong. And a sense of humor (think Gary Cooper in High Noon . . . but with wisecracks). Given a choice between Most Likely to Succeed and Wittiest I would (and did) choose the latter. There is an excerpt of a poem that I think describes me: "All that is gold does not glitter,/Not all those who wander are lost;/The old that is strong does not wither, /Deep roots are not reached by the frost." Not that I am old or anything . . . . . . . . .

Hello there! I am a committed Catholic and government relations professional currently based in Washington, DC. I'm also a huge lover of travel, my family, and our Miniature Schnauzer, so outside of the office, you can find me spending time with family and friends, planning a trip to some farflung destination, or playing with the dog. I'm pretty easygoing, although I also have an intense and competitive side. The stated choleric/melancholic personality profile for me is pretty accurate.

A woman is a flower in a garden; her man is the fence around it. (African Proverb) I little bit about me: I am a happy, fun loving dude who enjoys his work, a penchant for global travel and an appreciation for other cultures. I believe in love coming in any form shape size and color. True lesson for finding love is to have an open mind. My passion for volunteering, sports and politics is an additional bonus. I am energetic, passionate about everything I am involved in, appreciative of most opportunities that come my way, broad outlook on life, loyal to family and friends, enjoy comedy, optimist and a realist. A favorite tradition of mine; every spring time, I pack my Swiss Army travel duffel, my trusted camera and vault myself to about six or so countries I have not previously explored and immerse myself culturally. I sum up my travel at the end of the year with a visit to my first home to visit family and friends. I am looking for a good Christian loving woman with potential for something long term. Engage me if interested...

I am told that I am a kind, intellectual, and witty guy. I can be a bit of a contradiction. I am fairly regimented in certain areas of my life. For example, I have a morning routine consisting of exercise, prayer, and goal setting that I stick to every day. But can be laid back in other areas of my life. I sometimes don't put as much effort into my social life as I should. I am now looking to change that! Some of my interests include playing the mandolin, wildlife viewing, and hanging with my niece/nephew. I've also recently developed an interest in personal finance. My dream job would consist of some combination of personal finance and real estate investing. I work in real estate portfolio management right now. Family is very important to me. I try to see my parents and sister/her family every weekend. We're from Ohio originally but all ended up here in Northern Virginia. I lived in Boston, LA, and the Carolinas before settling in the DC area to be near them. My faith has always been a part of my life. It has grown deeper since becoming a part of the Arlington diocese. It has been great being around so many committed Catholics. I prefer older churches with a more traditional style of liturgy.

Hello. My name is Zarek. I was raised Catholic and graduated from George Mason University two years ago. I currently work in a non-profit in Vienna. I moved to Vienna a few months ago and don't really know anyone in the area So I am looking forward to meeting some people. While in college, I was heavily involved in the campus ministry. I helped organize a few events and was in charge of opening and closing the church. Most of my spare time is spend seeing the on or two friends I have in the area, practicing martial arts, or reading.

I never know what to write in these. I'm the first of 9 kids and moved to the Washington-area 5 years ago. It seems like half that amount of time has passed. Its true what they see about time flying when you're having fun! :). I grew up near Chicago, Illinois and had ready access to a rail-trail (like W&OD in Northern Virginia). The quiet on these trails is a welcome respite from the crazy urban environment we call HOME. I try to walk on the W&OD regularly for the R&R as well as enjoying the beautiful countryside.

First foray into this forum after taking a hiatus from relationships for 2+ years, ostensibly to make sure I was ready and willing to meet someone. At any rate, a brief synopsis of my favorite activities includes biking, kayaking, tennis, music and travel. Three of those activites were recently enjoyed on a sailing trip in the Balearic Islands with 7 friends. Experience of a lifetime.. Have hiked many US National Parks, the next one possibly being the best: Glacier. As a creative outlet to my professional career as an Engineering Manager, I play drums for a rock band. Mostly 90s and into the 2000s. Nearby Wolftrap is my second home.. The twin in one of my pics is my recently married son, with whom I'm very close in spite of geographical distance. The rest of my family is also far flung across the US and Italy. I do my best to keep close by visiting often. I'm fortunate to have a network of good friends and colleagues with whom to share good times, and I enjoy hosting cookouts and dinners at my home. Sicilian meals are my specialty. After a hiatus from the church, I've started attending Mass at nearby St John Newman. Having volunteered for years at soup kitchens in Boston through a Catholic organization, I'd like to contribute again to a similar philanthropic cause in the community. Best of luck to everyone in your search!

I'm a recent graduate in philosophy from University of Michigan and am presently living in the DC area working in Anti-Money-Laundering. Growing up, my family moved a lot. Before coming to Virginia, I lived in Alabama, Louisiana, Tennessee, North Carolina, Michigan, and Indiana. So, as you can see, I mostly grew up in the south. I'm somewhat of a homebody, but I love to travel and have so far been to Mexico, Canada, Switzerland, France, Spain, and Italy. I have a calm temperament and am always ready to have a good conversation or just laugh at the silly things in life. I prefer the countryside to the city, but I can settle for the suburbs. I play piano, love outdoor activities, and am somewhat a foodie by parental influence: which includes wine and beer (preferably brewed by monks!). I converted to the Faith from protestantism while living in Michigan. If you get to know me, you will probably hear a lot about that wonderful experience. I'm here to make friends, and if it seems right, somebody I can call more than a friend.

There are multiple things that I am passionate about, some more than others, here are some of my biggest passions. I am a soccer fanatic. Soccer has and alway will be a huge part of my life. Music is also big in my life. My family and friends have played an extreme role in molding the person that I am today. I love meeting new people everyday and always look forward to meeting people and look forward to seeing how they influence my life. I love movies as well. I am a fan of horror, comedy, action, and thrillers. During my leisure time I like to watch Hulu/Netflix.
