49, Falls Church, VAI fall somewhere between an extrovert and an introvert. I enjoy the outdoors, sports (cycling, soccer, golf, football), theater, good music, museums and an evening at home watching a movie while attempting to cook an edible dinner. On a recent Saturday afternoon, I went to a chili cookoff and during the evening took in a chamber orchestra. Another weekend there was an art festival, baseball game and jazz concert.
29, Winchester, VAI am a University of Dayton graduate with a Bachelors of Chemical Engineering. I am a fan of Science Fiction and geeky stuff like that. However I am most interested in the stories that seek to inspire or make us think. I am a huge Doctor Who fan. As a result of a long story from my high school days, I lost my faith and then found it again. Friends and even people I had never met helped me to see that good things could come out of painful and stressful situations. Most of all though, they were simply there when I needed them. I now feel called to do service as a way to help others the way I was helped. I have 1 sibling, an older brother with autism. It is a situation that has both challenged my faith and strengthened it at different times. He has a childlike faith that inspires me and he challenges me to be a better person. However I often wonder what his life would have been like if he didn't have autism. I look at him and see an incredibly gifted mind, trapped behind obsessions with vacuum cleaners and toy trucks and an inability to really grasp the emotions of others. It sometimes makes me wonder how such a disability can exist in God's plan. I firmly believe that God has a plan for each of us, and a purpose we are to serve. I also believe I will never, and in fact can never, fully know his plan for me. I find that both deeply inspiring and frustrating at the same time. I am inspired to know that my life has purpose, but frustrated that I may never know it. I grew up in a house with a strong thinker and a strong feeler and ended up somewhere in between. I am a strong extrovert. I am an idealist and an optimist. I can be stubborn as a mule sometimes when I think I am right, but I am also willing to admit when I am wrong. I am fiercely loyal to those I care about. I have been told that I am a good listener and give sound advice. Most of all though, the defining goal for my life, if I cannot accomplish anything else, is to make a difference in this world. To leave this world just a little bit better because I lived.
38, Arlington, VAI think my friends would call me a creative thinker good at coming up with random ideas and analogies (and wisecracks!). I love to read (almost anything -- politics, religion, history, fiction, classics), listen to music, and learn new things (podcasts while jogging, Great Courses videos, etc.). And I love spending time with family and friends -- especially if it involves good food.
32, Alexandria, VAI'm in the process of settling my life out from a lot of changes recently, but I could be happier or feel more blessed. I just started a job as a government civilian with the Navy, which is a continuation of my 7+ years of active and reserve service with the Navy. I feel more energized and focused than ever. Additionally, I just moved to Alexandria and really like it so far. I have a very eclectic set of interests. I'm a big sports fan (Sorry to those of you who are locals to the area, I support all Philadelphia teams). I'm also big into movies, Sci-fi, Fantasy, Action and Comedy are my favorite genres. I also really like playing soccer, running and am also getting into triathlons. I've also done a substantial amount of travel and would love to do more, I'd really like to go to Ireland and go back to Japan. I also like reading, playing music and listening to music (especially Dave Matthews Band).
43, Arlington, VAI have a passion for sports--baseball, hockey, college football & basketball. Sports was a big part of my life growing up. Today, it still teaches me hard work and discipline. I also enjoy being around fans of different teams and going to different places around the country to watch sports. You get a real feel for who people are that way. I'm also an avid runner--have completed 3 marathons to date. Running is very relaxing and fulfilling and I enjoy the competition. It also keeps me focused. Additionally, I'm a big fan of music-country first and its always fun to go to a concert. Finally, I enjoy traveling, especially by train. Colorado and Pittsburgh have been two recent and really fun places I've visited. To understand the world, you have to see and experience it and so that has been a pursuit of mine. That said, I also enjoy participating in and learning about other people's interests and hobbies as well. I think it is so important to have an interest in what other people like to do as well.

75, Herndon, VAI have been a practicing Catholic all my life. I was widowed shortly after retiring several years ago. My marriage lasted lasted almost 50 years. My daytime occupation was being an applied physicist helping to solve problems to keep our country safe. On many evenings I entertained people as a square dance caller. Major passions in my life are family relationships and the joy of learning. I had 7 full time years of formal university education and continue to explore new interests. I spent one year as an adjunct professor and have also taught hundreds of good folks how to have fun with square dancing. As far as community service goes I am a member of he Knights of Columbus and have served in many offices within the Knights, including being Grand Knight at St. John Neumann parish in Reston Virginia. Besides my parents, a major influence in my like was Reverend William Shonka. A Benedictine priest, Phd in physics, and head of the physics department at St. Procopius College where I earned a BS in physics. I met Rev, Shonka when I was a junior in high school at a college night event where representatives came to talk about colleges where they worked. He was a short wirery man who so excited man about physics that I changed my mind about being a chemist and went to his college and took every math and physics course he taught. As far as my leisure time goes I love to restaurant hop, go to the movies, music events, wineries, art and historical museums. To keep in shape I try to ride an exercise bike the equivalent of 5 miles every day. One of these days I may actually learn how to cook. I think that I personally am responsible for keeping the frozen TV dinner industry alive.
62, Virginia Beach, VAI am an outgoing middle-aged widower who enjoys people, the outdoors, staying in shape and motorcycles. I spent most of my life at sea or overseas and am searching for the next chapter in the never-ending book of life. I enjoy teaching, entertaining, the beach, and gardening. Life has been good, but not without its challenges. Grandchildren keep the world alive.
34, Alexandria, VAPax tecum. Thank you for visiting my profile. When it's not freezing outside, I like to play recreational sports and anything outdoors(hiking, golf, baseball and bicycling in particular). I definitely prefer to play sports than just watch...but I do still follow the Orioles and Nationals. When it's raining, I like to read and/or watch a good movie. Actually, I'm a bookworm! Reading classics and theological works is the best! I get my spiritual food from attending Mass, going to adoration, praying the Rosary, and reading the writings of the Doctors of the Church. I think one of the greatest challenges of our faith is to help others see beyond the horizon of the world and therefore bring others to Christ.
25, Dumfries, VAHi, I'm Denis !! Here is a litle about me. I've been here for almost three years, I'm still learning English. I'm a very positive person with a good sense of humor, who likes to go out and share with friends and family. Sometimes I tend to be a bit shy but at the same time very extroverted. I am a boy who believes in God and who has always been close to the church. I am sure that God has a plan for each of us no matter what. Am here loking for my best friend, my partner, my future wife. If you want to know more just asked me and get to know me. God bless you.
30, Dugspur, VAHello, my name is Stephen, I am a cradle catholic. I am very passionate about my faith, being raised in a traditional Catholic family. All of my siblings and I were home schooled for religious reasons, and yes, if I have children I would like them to be home schooled also. I pray the rosary every day (when I don't forget); my family has been doing so each night since before I was born and also has a prayer group that meets at the end of the month to pray the rosary together. I work in construction with my family, we practically do everything you can think of from lawn maintenance remodeling, but my real passion is in rebuilding classic cars and trucks, which I hope to do for a living in the near future. I have a garage with all the equipment necessary, and I've already re-built a 1965 Ford mustang for my brother. I pray I can do it full-time soon. I've been an Emergency Medical Technician for 8 years with my local Volunteer Rescue Squad and in my leisure time I run calls. I am the Captain of my squad. When I'm not doing that I like to go see a movie if there is one out worth seeing. Some of the movies I like are Star Wars, Marvel Hero movies like Captain America and Ironman (not Dead Pool!!!), I also like animated movies like Racket Ralph, Sing and Zootopia. My favorite saint is St. Joseph of Cupertino. What I like most about him was he (like me) had a learning disability and had a hard time learning, but overcame it all and became a great saint. I have dyslexia, which makes it very difficult for me to read and it takes me about three times as long to read or spell words. This is why I would like to find someone who's good at reading and spelling to make up for my deficiency. Others tell me that what I lack in reading skills I more than make up for in common sense and being able to figure out things. I can pretty much figure out anything in fixing and making things. Thank you for looking at my profile; have a blessed day.
