Live about 25 miles from the lake alone or with someone who also enjoys sitting and relaxing . Enjoy nature.. Love the oceans and waterfalls throughout North America. A great falls or even a sign there is a falls down that road can result in numerous miles of a scenic drive. All of my grandchildren are talented but I have saxophone and trombone players who have marched in high school and college including at Notre Dame. The sacs player is hoping to major in music and theatre next year in college. He has been in many musicals and plays with outstanding voice. My oldest and only granddaughter is graduating from ND in May 2017. Grandchildren play sports and enjoy watching them when possible. Watch college and professional sports on TV regularly. My 3 children and their spouse include teachers and engineers. I am not wealthy but sufficient income, so not in need of marriage to survive. My health is OK considering my age and I work everyday to keep healthy. I have lost several close friends this year and looking for enjoyable and happy friendships. I am looking to be wined and dined.

I have recently retired. I enjoy being able to pick my schedule and come and go at my leisure. I have my family raised and enjoy spending some time with my 5 grandchildren. I have a great love for the outdoors. There is no place I'd rather be. I enjoy nature by camping, walking, kayaking, gardening, and traveling. My favorite place to visit is the U.P. I try to go there every summer. I graduated from NMU and lived in Sault Ste Marie for awhile.

I am a traditional Catholic woman. I have been widowed for seven years after 49 years of marriage. We were blessed with three terrific children who gave us five wonderful grandchildren and one great-grandchild, dear little Maddy who is three months old. I love being Catholic and having the ability to go to Holy Mass everyday. It's terrific to wake up in the morning knowing the day is my own to make of it what I want, what the Lord wants of me. The pictures of me are two years old

My name is Irene and for the last 8 years I have lived in Kalamazoo, MI. Prior to living here, I lived in Midland, MI where I was born and raised on a farm. I am the 11th of 12 children of Slovak decent. My father came to the US in 1914 and my mother came to 1920. They both came from Lipnica which is now in Poland instead of Slovakia, I graduated from high school in 1959; worked as a secretary at the Dow Chemical Company for two years; then when to the U. of M. for the dental hygienist program. After working for several years, I stayed home to raise my children. I have owned 4 home based businesses & still work out of my home. I am widowed and have 4 children; two daughters that are married & have two children each. My two sons are not married. My family is the most important thing in my life & I try to spend as much time as possible with them. Two grandsons are adopted & one was born with multiple birth problems so I do spend as much time as I can helping out. I try to go to daily Mass & lector on Sundays as well as during the week. My favorite saint is St. Joan of Arc. Joan is my middle name so I have been friends with her for a long time. Plus she was a fighter & over the years I have had to lean on her to help me raise 4 children on my own after my husband died when the children were 7, 9, 14, & 17. I have been anti-abortion all my life. However, the prayers really intensified when my daughter found out they were not able to have children & tried to adopt. They were told that unwed mothers were either aborting the babies or keeping them themselves. So to have two adopted grandsons is a real blessing. Among my favorite pastimes are reading, walking, going out to eat, trying new foods as well as dancing, making scrape books, putting together photo albums & traveling. My favorite singer is Pavarotti, I like all kinds of music except hard rock. My favorite movie is The Passion of Christ. I also like to usher at the Civic center. Three yrs ago I started to search for our ancestors & have found ~100 of them in Poland, Slovakia, Austria & S Africa.

There are several passions in my life. The first is my family. My children have all grown into responsible I hope! and spectacular adults and I am tremendously proud of them. I also have a rather large extended family, so I have no excuse for ever feeling lonely. Another of my passions is teaching children. I have worked in the Early Childhood field for twenty years, and have worked with - and loved - every child who has ever walked through my door. My faith is another, vital, passion. Without it I could not have grown into the woman that I am today. And I hope that it continues to grow and mature in me as long as I need it to (which, of course, will be to the end of my days!

My passions are all of God's creatures. and I love His canine creations, as well as others. I am a social worker by profession for many years, I have been touched by everyone I have ever known, and some of them by me. I enjoy several crafts: fiber arts, jewelry making. I also very much enjoy figuring out what makes things work. I am truly fascinated by computers, even at my age. I work for the VA and feel very honored to be serving the new Veterans just returning home. They enjoy my style of working with them, and of course, I enjoy them. I am a very loyal person, sometimes shy, sometimes outspoken. I laugh, I love, I live with much joy most of the time!

Hello to you. Lent 2017 is just starting and it feels different to me already. I've agreed to join the Cursillo team for the upcoming 3 day retreat and the initial info meeting has me assigned a presentation (called a Rollo) it amazes me how close I felt to God this past year at my Cursillo. I've decided to step it up and become the best version of myself this lent. I've been widowed longer this year than I was married (25 years). The big question for me is " Does God 's "PLAN" for me include meeting that special person or what? I bet most of us are asking a similar question either to our friends or quietly in our prayers. I have been so blessed with 8 children and a loving and action packed marriage to their mother. I know for fact that my "PLAN" included raising the four at home grow up safely and helping the not at home four get on with their lives. Fifteen grand children later, I often wonder how can it get any better. That's why you get to read this narrative. I think that Gods love for us includes becoming the best version of our selves by sharing our faith by helping others. In return God will enhance our lives more than we can imagine. My future outlook on life has always been positive so I'm prepared for the best. My family has been my focus for many many years and with no one home with me (39 years in the same 1850's home) anymore, I need to start stepping up the ACTION. There are some of my kids that think that Dad will never move, so I need to see if the PLAN differs from that assessment. This isn't really what I expected to discuss, but it's huge on my mind. I'm open currently to suggestions

My family is very important to me. Although I am retired, I still feel a need to have a purpose. I am active and enjoy walking and areobics.I enjoy volunteering and being of service to people in need. I have known a number of people who have influenced me postiviely. My teachers were the most influential. I have found some of the most devastating experiences have made me stronger and created an awareenss of the needs of other people.

I'm interested in meeting someone with a good sense of humor,( that is most important), who likes to do new things. I'm enjoy in learning new things too. Growing up I was most influenced by my father and grandparents. I want to be in the warmer weather in the winter and need to be near the water. In the past, I haven't had much leisure time because work has occupied most of my time.

I totally love traveling. Spending time with my family and friends. Breakfast in a restaurant after mass is one of my favorite things actually breakfast in a restaurant any day is good. Learned to camp in a camper and discover what fun it is. Leisure time is spent relaxing watching tv or playing games on the computer unless something more interesting comes up. Karoke with my family is also fun but not too many places to do that anymore.

I am passionate about my relationship with the Holy Trinity. I am passionate about my children; they are my everything! It is important to me to take care of my health and going to the gym is an big component of that. I like helping others whether that is through a kind word , gentle encouragement , listening or actively doing something concrete. I love to travel but have not been able to do much of that in past years. I love being around horses and boats but I don't own either. I have three daughters two of whom still live with me, one is still in high school. I started my family later in life. All three of my children are African American. They own my heart. I have three dogs which is two too many but I love them any way! I have a cooking impairment! I haven't dated in a long time due to being a single parent and recently due to health issues. I'd like to make a friend. If that leads to a serious relationship and marriage that is great! But I definitely want to start out as friends and get to know each other before jumping into a relationship.
