I would like to take you on a date to the Grand Hotel on Mackinaw Island and have a ballroom dance. I love adventure outdoors and visiting new places, even turn of the century. I try to live holiness everyday and remain in a state of grace. I desire a stable life, and a life-long friend to experience it with. I am looking for someone to travel with through the deserts of this exile because I don't want to go alone. I love to write and I am currently working on a sci-fi novel in my spare time. I am also passionate about the pro-life movement in writing, volunteering, and attending the March for Life in Washington DC. I am fun loving and have a quirky sense of humor. Discerning the religious life and finding it was not my vocation after a long journey is why I am not married. I am upbeat and like to turn any negative or curve-ball into my own advantage with a grateful spirit about any type of weather or hand I'm given. I am happy to be alive today, with good health, free to walk or run, and loved as a son of God. I have five brothers and a twin. My brothers are all married so I am lucky to have lots of nieces and nephews to hang out with and tease. Marriage is something of a mystery and I walk that way compelled by my heart.

I am a middle school English teacher at a small Catholic school in the UP. It is a true delight to use literature and grammar to draw my students closer to Christ. Building my classroom library (the middle school library) with wholesome good books and great classics is a hobby of mine. I only teach books I enjoy; so, that is an added daily highlight! Speaking of books, I really enjoy reading out loud to children, especially my nephews, nieces, students, and friends' children. I have 13 nephews and nieces (1 in heaven), 2 of whom are my godchildren and another 2 who are my 'confirmation children'. I moved to the UP over 4 years ago. I enjoy the beauty of the trees, the starry skies, and sunsets. The UP, like back home in Western NY, reminds me of that line "The world is charged with the grandeur of God" I value getting to know people either one-on-one or in small group settings. Multitasking is fine too - my neighbors and I got acquainted over painting their garage and porch. They treat me as part of the family now! I also enjoy taking a walk in the woods, having picnics/cookouts in all four seasons, and playing games with family and friends near a campfire or fireplace.

I'm a fairly quiet person until you get to know me, then I'm usually more talkative. I also am majoring in biology and clinical lab science with hopes of working in a hospital lab someday. I love to run and completed my first marathon this past year.

I am an energetic, positive and active individual who works at enjoying life to the fullest. Smile is at the ready and I love to laugh. My relationship with Jesus is the center of my life and I continue to work on drawing closer to him each day. I try to continuously be involved in a Bible Study but during the summer months have to focus on spiritual reading and the Bible as most studies break during the summer.I have broad interests and very much enjoy sharing time with someone doing just about anything. I try to do something which gets me outdoors at least 2-3 times a week and very much enjoy snowmobiling, motorcycling, bicycling, walks/hiking, dancing, concerts or just about anything with a cordial partner. Up until the last 5 years I was employed as a manufacturing executive, but started a small business to have more time with my family, avoid regular relocations and increase independence. Divorced (not by choice) after 34 years of marriage 3 years ago. I have two boys and I am so proud of them both I could just burst! My oldest just graduated from the University of Michigan with a Computer Engineering degree and is living/working in Detroit for General Motors. My youngest will start his sophomore year this fall and attends Western Michigan University majoring in Education. I am a member of the Christian Motorcyclists Association and very much enjoy the service activities and fellowship. I also serve as an extraordinary minister in our parish. Like to travel and have family in lower Michigan which I typically visit 3-5 times annually. Take care and may God bless you!

I enjoy spending times with my 3 daushounds and riding my motorcycle when the weather permits, also enjoy camping prefer sleeping off the ground. I retired from my job after 35 years and never missed a day, a fact that I am proud of although it really made no difference to the company. Looking for a friend first that's what is important the rest falls into place. Looking for someone not afraid to get hands dirty and also fall down in the snow and make snow angels. Someone who wants to grow old together holding hands, that's appreciates chivalry. Someone who walks the walk doesn't judge folks on appearance. Age is only a number and growing up only makes you old lol only as old as you feel. I must say that I joined this site hoping that the folks on here would be Christian and unjudgemental sadly seems that is not the case. Wow blocked for saying hello Christian's on this site I think not appears not even adults, really sad

Hi! I love small town life, being outside, going on adventures, running in the rain, and the color green. Also I play air guitar left-handed;) I'm pretty laid back and easy to get along with. I am an introvert, but that's sometimes hard for people to guess, especially if I'm very comfortable with the place where I meet them the first time. My life is centered on Jesus, and for me to spend my life with someone, we would absolutely have to share that! I'm very close to my family, and love spending time with them. I recently moved back to Michigan to be closer to them. I love taking care of people. I love to laugh, and the way to my heart is definitely, well, through ice cream!

I have been a Secular Franciscan for over 45 years and have been most active on all local & regional levels. I guess you would say it is sort of a passion. I teach religious ed for the parish, serve as Eucharist Minister and Read. I am active with just about anything that goes on in the parish - but it is a small parish, however, I am known to interact with all other catholic churches in the area and Diocese. My deceased husband and his family were very influential in my life. My sister-in-law was a religious, and the rest of the family were wonderful Catholics. Also, I have a great neighbors and friends, and we interact frequently. I do participate in a couple of retreats per year (i.e. Wise Women's) at the local retreat house, but do not belong to any other organizations. I have lived in a rural area for over 35 years living on a cattle farm which also included many kinds of animals and the raising of Arab horses. I was also a professional ice skater for a short time and still retain contact with some of those friends, played for a short time on a women's hockey team, use to ski downhill and, as you can tell love winter sports including ice fishing and snowmobiling. I think I am capable of still doing just about anything in a moderate fashion - but still try. Have traveled all over including Europe and Japan and still like to get around, though I don't want to leave the U.S. anymore - but Canada is OK!! When I have time, I try my hand at oil painting or jot down ideas and paragraphs for writing. I enjoy lots of company at my house and always have room for guests and am considered a 'good cook'. I have an MBA, once held a teaching certificate for many years, and am retired from state administrative work. I do like to keep active, but find a nap or just resting not that bad either. Life has been interesting and good for me as many miracles have happened. Maybe there's a few more......
  • Bruce, 68 from Lapeer, MI

Hello, my name is Bruce, I'm sixty seven and like many of you I lost my spouse. I was happily married for forty years to my best friend. Her loss has left a huge void in my life and up to recently I could not even talk about it. It's time to move on. I haven't dated in over forty years so your patience would be appreciated. What I'm looking for is a life partner, someone I can travel with and joke around with. I like going to coffee shops [ I don't drink alcohol ] and antique shops just to see what's out there. Traveling out west is a passion. My two sons live in Nebraska and Idaho. Traveling with someone would make it more enjoyable, like it used to be. I'm open to doing things you like to do [ a relationship is a 50-50 proposition ] I have to admit I have two left feet. If you like to dance and if you don't mind me picking myself up when trying a few steps we will get along just fine. I have a Harley motorcycle [ a trike ] that I enjoy. I only ride the back roads at a leisurely pace. It's like a three wheeled sports car. There are many other things I like to do but maybe that's something you would have to discover over time. I know I will never have another Paula and I don't expect you to be like her, but on the other hand I could never be like your loved one you lost. Feel free to talk about him at any time, it's only natural as I will do the same about her. We could heal together. I'm not a novelist so I'm not really good with words but I'm down to earth. I hope this short story will capture someone's attention. I appreciate your time. Have a good day.

I am a student at the University of Michigan pursuing a BA in Classical Civilizations, minoring in Philosophy and Latin. I am active in quite a few student groups, most of them political in nature. I am from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, the most beautiful land on earth. I have a rather large extended family that I love very much. I enjoy walking and hiking in the woods, watching a good TV series or movie or sporting event of almost any kind, reading both fiction and nonfiction, and making and/or consuming good food.

  • Jodi, 42 from Marquette, MI
    42, Marquette, MI
I am passionate about my family and faith. I thoroughly enjoy my job working for the Catholic Church. I am slowly getting back to my hobbies of gardening, music (flute & piano), walking in nature, cross-country skiing and just spending time with friends. I don't have a lot of leisure time, but I like to get outdoors preferably for a walk in the woods or to read a book, watch a movie, talk with a friend or play music. My children and work keep me busy throughout the week but Saturdays I try to get some time to myself. Thinking about what I look forward to most, I find myself happy with my daily routine of work and family home life. I am blessed with a job I look forward to going to and plenty of children to fill my life with love and laughter (and all the hard work and ups/downs of raising them too). I like helping others and hope that I honor God in doing so.
