  • Catherine, 56 from Marquette, MI
    56, Marquette, MI
I am a devout Catholic who would like the same in a friend, mate or someone to have an indepth and meaningful conversation with. I believe that a healthy relationship need to start with a strong sense of who you are and what you bring to the table. Being needy, narrow minded or overbearing will only destroy a relationship. I have been a social worker for over 25 years. I find it not only a career but a calling to help people by trouble shooting, encouraging or just listening to their thoughts and hopes. I have watched people either uplift their lives or destory them with choices made. I am perfect? Certainly not! I not looking for perfect either. Only someone who has strong faith and devotion. Here's the real me in the pictures. Not afraid to show you who I am.
  • Steven, 32 from Marquette, MI
    32, Marquette, MI
My name is Steven, I am a conservative Catholic country boy, through and through. I was raised on a family farm in the UP and have been working on family farms ever since. My career goal is to drive my own semi, maybe even own a small fleet. I get a thrill every time that I hear a big diesel fire up, I hope to find someone who can share this thrill or at least appreciate that I feel it. I consider myself to be a basically laid back, relaxed individual, and when I feel stressed I listen to Jimmy Buffet, or Bob Marley. I know what I want out of life, I think I know how to get there, and I am working hard to make it happen. I try not to let life’s little setbacks get to me, after all everything is gonna be all right. My sense of humor is slightly off the wall, but I think that if you can't laugh at the awkward moments you can't laugh at anything. As such I often find myself chuckling at somewhat inappropriate times. Sarcasm and witty one liners are some of my favorite ways of joking around. My friends have often told me that I have something of a dry sense of humor. My ideal match seems to be very unique, that’s why I’m here. I want to find a person who knows who they are and what they want out of life and is willing to do the work to get there. I find confidence, self reliance, and independence very attractive, my extended family is filled with what could be called strong willed women, and I learned to value it. I am looking for a woman who wants to have a meaningful lasting relationship, but doesn’t let her relationship status define who she is. I believe that relationships are stronger when both parties have confidence in who they are first, and in who they are as a couple second. A loving relationship will help you be the best person you can be, not drag you down or hold you back. A person should never feel that they are settling for a relationship, I still believe in love and am waiting for it to find me in it’s own time, because true love is worth waiting for.

I can give 20 + great things to say about a person, but to discuss and discribe myself is hard. I love giving, smiling, hearing people speak. I like looking at the bad as it is setting up a plan for something better. My faith is very strong in God and Jesus. Weekly Mass is my strength. I've turned to our Mother Mary for guidance and knowledge in this Online add I guess I'll call it. So I can't promise this won't be plain but I'm better at speaking and chatting one on one. I can tell you I'm nice, thoughtful and smart, but everyone is different so I believe that just reading words from a page really doesn't do much when so many personality's and prospective s are out there. Did I mention I'm a realist. Well I am a worker. I love to work. I love to stay busy. I am not one to lay at the beach and watch the waves, I'd rather be in them. I have to be active or I can't focus. Movies are different. I'm a movie nerd. I have some weight on me but this is just my cover up. Lol I'm very active. Not hard when I have, Ready.... 4 children. Yup. All mine, all under my roof. I'll let that sink in............So for those of you that have not hit the back space button[?] Thanks. So I guess I really won't say much more because if you have continued to read this after the 4 children part your pretty special and I would ask that you get to know me by chat rather than a profile page. And if we don't click.... Well what's another friend from a different part of the states going to hurt. God will always lead a way for us. Even if it's one we don't like at the time. Wish all of you the best and hope you find your other half.[?]
  • Sue, 66 from Escanaba, MI
    66, Escanaba, MI
I was born and raised in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. I enjoy the change of seasons this area has to offer. I attended a catholic grade school and high school. My faith is extremely important to me and I am constantly trying to learn more. I enjoy reading, gardening, travelling and much more. I am adventurous and spontaneous but a bit shy until I feel comfortable with someone. I retired from the teaching profession 2 years ago and am enjoying time spent with family and friends. Meeting someone special to become part of my life would be a gift I would treasure.

I am a sports junkie!! If I'm not playing or coaching them I'm watching them. I also enjoy spending time with family, friends and my dog. I don't like to talk about myself, so if you want to know something you are going to have to ask.
  • Frank, 65 from Hubbell, MI

I enjoy spending times with my 3 daushounds and riding my motorcycle when the weather permits, also enjoy camping prefer sleeping off the ground. I retired from my job after 35 years and never missed a day, a fact that I am proud of although it really made no difference to the company. Looking for a friend first that's what is important the rest falls into place. Looking for someone not afraid to get hands dirty and also fall down in the snow and make snow angels. Someone who wants to grow old together holding hands, that's appreciates chivalry. Someone who walks the walk doesn't judge folks on appearance. Age is only a number and growing up only makes you old lol only as old as you feel. I must say that I joined this site hoping that the folks on here would be Christian and unjudgemental sadly seems that is not the case. What's really sad is life's short and at this age ya have been to lots of funerals I am just amazed at folks attitudes these days. Wow blocked for saying hello Christian's on this site I think not appears not even adults, really sad

Hi! I love small town life, being outside, going on adventures, running in the rain, and the color green. Also I play air guitar left-handed;) I'm pretty laid back and easy to get along with. I am an introvert, but that's sometimes hard for people to guess, especially if I'm very comfortable with the place where I meet them the first time. My life is centered on Jesus, and for me to spend my life with someone, we would absolutely have to share that! I'm very close to my family, and love spending time with them. I recently moved back to Michigan to be closer to them. I love taking care of people. I love to laugh, and the way to my heart is definitely, well, through ice cream!

  • Bruce, 68 from Lapeer, MI
    68, Lapeer, MI
Hello, my name is Bruce, I'm sixty seven and like many of you I lost my spouse. I was happily married for forty years to my best friend. Her loss has left a huge void in my life and up to recently I could not even talk about it. It's time to move on. I haven't dated in over forty years so your patience would be appreciated. What I'm looking for is a life partner, someone I can travel with and joke around with. I like going to coffee shops [ I don't drink alcohol ] and antique shops just to see what's out there. Traveling out west is a passion. My two sons live in Nebraska and Idaho. Traveling with someone would make it more enjoyable, like it used to be. I'm open to doing things you like to do [ a relationship is a 50-50 proposition ] I have to admit I have two left feet. If you like to dance and if you don't mind me picking myself up when trying a few steps we will get along just fine. I have a Harley motorcycle [ a trike ] that I enjoy. I only ride the back roads at a leisurely pace. It's like a three wheeled sports car. There are many other things I like to do but maybe that's something you would have to discover over time. I know I will never have another Paula and I don't expect you to be like her, but on the other hand I could never be like your loved one you lost. Feel free to talk about him at any time, it's only natural as I will do the same about her. We could heal together. I'm not a novelist so I'm not really good with words but I'm down to earth. I hope this short story will capture someone's attention. I appreciate your time. Have a good day.

I am retired and spend my summers at a local campground in a 5th wheel camper with several other friends, who also spend their summers there. We have lots of fun. I like fishing, having picnics, spending time outdoors, and like to walk for exercise most days. I also like dancing and am involved with singing and playing guitar at my church. I also like pets. I have an elderly cat, who also likes to go camping with me. I have 2 adult sons who live near by and a 5 year old granddaughter. I have worked at nursing homes in the Activity Department and enjoy helping the elderly enjoy their lives. They all have wonderful stories to share and are so appreciative of a friend who is interested in them. I got my cat so I could take her to work to use as a pet therapy cat. she loved it and so did the residents. I guess my greatest passion is to spend time with God and to have his will done in me and through me. It is the greatest thing we could hope for.

I am a spiritual, small business owner and small-town girl. Music, food, family & friends are my life and I am truly thankful to God for blessing me richly. At 20, I packed a suitcase for NYC to follow my dream of performing on Broadway. While there, I attended and graduated from a conservatory for musical theatre. I was blessed to work professionally for the next 6 years in my 20's. While not working in the theatre, I worked in restaurants, and now it has become my life. I own a small, brick-lined cafe in Michigan's Upper Peninsula in my hometown. Within these walls I brought all my loves together, food, coffee, music and people. I work with my favorite person on a daily basis too, my mom. This past Saturday, at the Easter Vigil, I became Catholic. I was born and raised Lutheran, but never in my life have a felt so connected to and aware of my faith and actions in my life.
