34, Wayne, MIOne of my favorite things is the podcast "Catholic Stuff You Should Know." I like learning about stuff. I'm not really disciplined about it, but I like to dabble: science, philosophy, theology, economics, history, etc. Ok, I'm a nerd. I think Excel is fun. :\ I try not to take unimportant things too seriously, and that's most things. If it doesn't effect someone's soul or well-being, it's probably not something to get worked up about. When I was a kid my mom used to call me "Garfield" - but I was also a little bit Calvin. I firmly believe in summer vacation for kids, and in letting them play hookey once in a while. I am serious about my faith, my family, and justice in the world. Maranatha! I'm trying to get more serious about health; diet, exercise, etc. I'm kind of experimenting with different things to see what I like. I've had some good stints doing the low carb thing. So, here are two ways people have described me that I think are pretty funny. The other day one of my best friends affectionately called me "simple." It's not the first time I've got that. She didn't mean "dumb" - I think she mostly meant that my needs/wants/tastes are pretty basic. I can live off things you can buy at 7/11, and I'd probably be happy living in the Shire. I didn't really see why one college was better than any other. I used a flip phone until mine died a couple months ago. The other thing a few people have told me is "when we first met, I thought you hated me." I'm an introvert and I guess I just don't talk much when I first meet people, and maybe I have a grumpy resting face. Really, I like almost everyone I meet!
