35, Lincoln, NEI dont know what life has in store for me but I cant wait to find out. My family and upbringing have been very influential. I grew up on a farm in southwest Nebraska and was the second oldest of six. We were very close growing up and are still very close even though we are spread throughout the US. I enjoy the opportunity to visit them and see the new locations when they move! I happen to be one of the boring non-moving individuals of the family :) I enjoy going to or watching an occasional sporting event but am sadly lacking in sports knowledge. I never played sports growing up and neither of my parents had much interest in them. If you expect to bond with my dad over a game you will be sadly disappointed; however, youll never have to worry about him rooting for a rival team. I also enjoy going to Broadway, ballet, music, dance, and theater productions and generally get tickets to a handful of performances every year. My parents always encourage me to be independent in obtaining what I want in life. They encouraged me to go to college but were clear with me earlier on that I would be responsible for funding it. Other than contributing a little money toward my first car Ive been responsible for all major purchases in my life from college to car to house. Ill probably end up stubbornly independent like my grandmother and do all sorts of things I shouldnt do because I want to keep my independence. Id like to say I have a boring job as an accountant; however, there always seems to be some flurry of drama happening with my job that makes up for the times I have to force myself to stay awake while reading a 200+ page GASB on pension accounting standards. I could ramble on for paragraphs but will try to save some mystery about myself for further conversations.
53, Lincoln, NEI'm hardly the perfect guy, but I am kind and faithful. My friendships are close, and I like connecting on a deep level with people. I feel very strongly that friendship is not just about two people having fun together--its about being there for the other when life is hard. Making a gift of oneself should be a joy and not a burden. I'd love to be a dad, although at my age, I'm realistic about my chances. I'm good with kids, and my empathy and life experience enable me to sense when they are lonely or stressed. My nieces and nephews often do better in talking with me than they do with their own parents! I've worked a number of different jobs. I had my own law practice for eight years, with 1400+ clients. It was going well when I decided I had to shut it down and enter the seminary. More on that shortly. I've worked in political campaigns and as a professional staff member/counsel for an oversight committee with the U.S. House of Representatives. I had a one-year appointment as Counsel to the Inspector General of the IRS, taught catechism at a parish school and was the Administrator at a small Catholic boarding school for high-school boys. Currently, I am the business manager at a seminary. There was a time a several years ago when I thought I might be called to the priesthood. In three years at seminary, I forged lasting friendships and deepened my spiritual life and knowledge and understanding of the Faith. Closing my practice for this step has been professionally costly, but I am glad I did it. I've traveled a good bit, and I made the annual Pentecost pilgrimage from Paris to Chartres four times (73 mile hike in 2.5 days). I like to read about current events, economics, philosophy, history and theology. I like the outdoors--off-road biking, hiking, bird-watching, occasionally hunting, going to the beach, watching a good football game. I also enjoy movies. A good popcorn flick now and then is fun, but I especially enjoy movies that touch me or make me think. And I love good, soul-lifting music. Mom was a musician (french horn), so beautiful music was regularly enjoyed in our house.
40, Lincoln, NELike most everyone on this site, I am hoping to connect with someone who can not only be my partner in this life, but someone whom I can help grow closer to God and vice versa. Not that being single isn't a great vocation in itself, but we wouldn't be on here if we felt comfortable that is the path meant for us. I'm a small-town girl with good values, a well-rounded education, and a strong work ethic. I love my faith and my family and friends. Beyond that I love traveling, archaeology, history, St. Louis Cardinals baseball, Cornhusker athletics, geopolitics, the Middle East, and photography. Just like everyone else, I enjoy long talks, evenings in, evenings out, and good food. I have worked as a paleontologist, a manager at a Berkshire Hathaway company, and in real estate...varied occupations, I know. I like outdoor activities such as hiking, fishing, and softball. I would like to go zip-lining in a rainforest and skydiving, but I would never go bungee jumping. I am super sentimental, but am shy about showing too much outward emotion in public. I love museums, road trips, and foreign films. Someday I would like to take my entire family on an archaeological dig in Israel.

I have a wicked sense of humor and enjoy intelligent conversation and someone who can joke right back. I think that communication,, commitment, and romance in all aspects of a relationship are exceptionally important. I am looking for a professional man who is honest, loving, secure in himself, and willing to appreciate this second stage in life with a person who will treat you with respect and honesty while having a lot of fun. I enjoy cycling, walking my dogs, snuggling on the couch, holding hands, making dinner together, and all of the things that togetherness brings. I am always willing to try new things and excited to see what you are interested in to encourage me to learn something else.
