In a former life, at age 20, I earned a master's at Oxford. I picked up another in astrophysics at Cambridge (and another at UNC), can read/write 8 languages, worked at Google, once held a national record, was once invited to a monarch's birthday party. But now that you're here, a confession/apology: although this stuff is true, it's also fairly irrelevant, except maybe for stories to future grandkids (which stories will probably be embellished with grandpaternal license anyway). I was on here a few years ago and discovered that many more people will click through to/read a profile with a list of apparent accomplishments than one with a meaningful description of oneself--it's curious how we find we have to advertise, or possibly objectify, ourselves in so many ways today. So instead of advertising further (!), I'll leave you with some of my favorite quotes (actually I'll stash them helpfully at the bottom), which you may imagine quoted in an accent American.

Hello! Professionally I am passionate about the law. I was a prosecutor for a while and now I work in international law. I can be pretty goofy. I like funny movies - can't beat "Old School." Personally I love poilitics, history, exercise, and good books.

I'm a high school teacher. I do my best to stay active, physically and socially. I love meeting new people, sharing stories and finding what we have in common. I prefer house parties to clubs, and booths to bar stools. I'm a big fan of potlucks- I do a little cooking. I have a great sense of humor, I love sharing laughs and competing for punch lines. I can be sarcastic at times, and other times, down right crude, but it's all in the spirit of levity. I'm also one of the most sincere people you might meet. I'm a terrible liar. I'd always rather pleasantly surprise someone, than to get their hopes up.

I'm originally from central New York and I've lived in Raleigh since 2002. The oldest of two children, I grew up trying to be a good big brother to my Sister. Thankfully, she tells me I did fine. I enjoy music, especially singing and playing guitar. I stay active by weight training, doing cardio, and taking walks. I'd like to find someone who enjoys the simple things, but also likes to go out to dinner and a show every so often. I've been spending my vacation time mostly visiting my family and freinds but I'm looking forward to eventually travelling to some warm weather desitinations. I'm looking for a kind, considerate, and thoughtful person who's faith guides their major decisions.

I am down to earth and a little bit introverted, but can talk to anyone, anywhere, anytime, anyplace. I am a serious person when it comes to matters of faith, family, and responsibility, However, when the timing is right, I have a mischievous and sometimes silly sense of humor. Laughing and having fun is important to me. Helping others is important to me as well. Inwardly, I long for adventure -- travel, not base jumping or cliff climbing :).

Hi! Glad you popped in to read my profile. This is the first time I am trying an on-line site, so here I go: A little bit about me - I enjoy taking walks, driving to small towns and experiencing their "claim to fame", I'm a foodie and love to try new things. I'm a dog lover & would like to meet someone who is as well. My parents were the most influential people when growing up, they were married over 50 years and had great respect for each other. I would enjoy finding someone who wants to explore the area and has a love for water! I enjoy swimming, boating watching professional golf and tennis and am a NFL Packer fan. I like NHL, a former CBJ fan and now the Hurricanes.

Hi, I'm Stephanie. I'm an outgoing, energetic person who loves being around people. I'm a huge Carolina Hurricanes fan and love sports in general. I'm also a ramblin wreck from Georgia Tech...Go Jackets! :) I like listening to country music and watching crime dramas while cuddling with my 2 cats on the couch. I like to dress up some, but much prefer comfy clothes and laid back nights. I am active in my church community with a young adult bible study, as well as, volunteering with the high school youth ministry. I look forward to finding the right partner and starting a family.

Over the past year I've enjoyed becoming active in my faith and community and I especially cherish the multitude of new people I've met. My mother (who is a spiritual director at her home parish) and my Sister (who is currently discerning a religious vocation) have been the biggest influences on me. I would not be where I am today spiritually without their prayers and assistance. I'm currently in the process of moving to Raleigh, NC and I'm very excited for the opportunity presented to me in the form of a new job and I look forward to starting a new life and making new friends in North Carolina.

I'm a fairly reserved person, and I always enjoy curling up with a good book, or a tv show/movie. Listening to music is just about the most relaxing thing ever. I enjoy intelligent conversations, regardless of topic - whether they're about faith, theology, history, literature, philosophy, politics, poetry, music, or the latest episode of Game of Thrones. I'm currently a graduate student working on a master's degree in history. I love reading, traveling, singing, the beach at night, long drives, long walks, and deep conversations. I also thoroughly enjoying cooking - especially Italian and Mexican food, and (of course) steak. I'm an INTP, although I was fairly split down the middle in some categories...except for that I, that was quite clear. I'm the youngest of three kids (two older sisters). Most influential people in my life would definitely include my family, a few excellent teachers, and a few wonderful friends. We're all products of our relationships and environments, and I've been blessed with an abundance of positive experiences. I've been lucky enough to do quite a bit of traveling, and I fully intend to do quite a bit more. I've been to 17 countries on 4 continents, including living outside of Rome for a semester in college. I wouldn't be opposed to living overseas again, at least for a while. I've recently discovered the sheer joy of listening to audiobooks while exercising. While I would also love to have someone join me on long walks, bike rides, or at the gym, when I'm doing those things alone, listening to audiobooks makes them the highlights of my day. I'm currently listening to The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas, which is fantastic!

Following items came to my mind when I thought about what I'm passionate about: Hiking the Blue Ridge mountains (or any trail). Thriving to learn new things everyday(foreign languages, trying out a new recipe). Playing the favorite card game with the close friends. During the week, I'm an Computer Engineer. It motivates me to solve a different challenging problem every single day. It brings a smile to my face when I see a happy customer. I believe in a perfect work life balance. After work, I usually hit the gym for some weight training or cook a meal and enjoy it with some light music. I was born an raised in a farm and I prefer to hike a mountain trail than spending my time in a crowded and busy downtown/city. Faith is an important part of my life. I'm raised as a Catholic and I would like my partner to be a woman of faith as well. I'm drawn to smart and kind woman. To help you further, I'm adding the following list that outlines what I value the most in my partner. 1. Should maintain a healthy life style (Non smoker, Doesn't drink all the time, Must not do drugs) 2. No children/never married before 3. Should be able speak up her mind about anything If this sounds like you, please feel free to reach out and we can talk further.
