I have a grown up family so my time is my own more or less. I have always volunteered my time in the past delivering meals on wheels, teaching reading one on one, working within the parish. Being a foster parent I still love to foster children of various ages and find this very rewarding. I have two grandchildren and would love to have more to spoil. I love to listen to good live music at our local venues or in the big city. Stage shows at the Royal Alex or any of the other theatres in Toronto are always a great pleasure. Would love to have a game of badminton again. I was always a poor player but gave it my all. I'm a great Corrie fan though some of the lifestyles in the programme and attitudes towards moral issues can be upsetting. I travel to the UK almost every year as I have a lot of family and friends there. It is great to get to the coast and smell the sea and feel the sand on my feet. These times with my family in England are very precious. I try to keep active and that's not too difficult as I have a large unruly lot to take care of. Cutting the grass is quite a chore. Sorry if this is disjointed - needed more time to think !

I am currently working at a Tech Company in Ottawa. I look forward to finding someone special. CCO events have been influential in my life (good to be around church going Catholics around my age). In my leisure time I watch TV, read books, watch movies, and lots of computer stuff (build/fix computers).
  • Lynn, 53 from Perth, CA
    53, Perth, CA
My name is Lynn and upon reflection of the things I'm passionate about I would have to say: Social Justice ... Environment ... befriending good people ... gardening enjoy ... my adult children of course will always be passionate about ... my Faith of course, although I'm more private in expression ... pretty much anything I dive into I get very passionate about. I am very real, love all beauty ... nature, arts, music .... sunset .... ocean ... beautiful Fall day with vibrant leaves just moves me ... sunsets and so much more. I am a very grateful person and in saying that I take nothing for granted ... that keeps me a passionate woman. Influences in my life ... Gosh ... I'm one who sponges in most things so everything influences me to some degree. I appreciate and believe things are placed in your path for a reason ... could be a lesson that isn't always telling but in time you come to understand. I'm a thinker and wonder-er and I see life as a journey and take all the lessons along the way and find the purpose of each one. If I was forced to come out with the biggest influence it would have to be "God" without a doubt. Although that may sound silly to some and I"m not a Bible thumper per say ... it comes with sincerity because I leaned on my Faith throughout my life and have felt comforted in doing so. My Father comes in second because I always see him as such a good man (not perfect but darn close). He is wholesome and wise and always gave me such peaceful advice when I sought out his counsel that was pure and untainted. He's 87 now and I admire his grace in aging and a great example ... he never missed mass that I remember even to this day and although he didn't use God in his answers so much .. what he did do is live the Faith and his wisdom came from that source of goodness. Many other people but those are the two biggies. Leisure time .... love my power walks with iPod on ... kind of meditative on some level ... like anything adventuresome .... hikes .... seeing new views/lookouts .... experimental cooking .... being current .... dressing up/down .... swimming enjoy .... watching sunset is awesome .... movies a bit, shopping - typical woman stuff ... talking to my kids/seeing them although they do live a distance from me and more ....

I am passionate about experiencing life through travels that I have been fortunate to have taken. Some have been spiritual and some for vacation (I love the warm ocean!!) Always though it is great to experience different places, meeting new people, enjoying food and drink! I can be a 'homebody' too and spend leisure time in caring for my home. I love music and enjoy concerts and theatre.

To be honest I am not exactly sure what love is but I am pretty sure it is the same feeling as when you see the waiter coming with your food. Relax I am just kidding. Well to start I am passionate about becoming the best version of me possible spiritually, mentally and physically. I am definitely a work in progress but I have help from God and my family. So I originally hail from Toronto and moved here to join a dental practice. After many years of working overtime I can now make my own schedule and have time to do the things I love. Time is a commodity I took for granted and I want to make up for it. In an attempt to be well rounded I go the gym daily, play soccer and attend mass 3 times a week. I am fun, energetic( After10am I don't drink coffee), very competitive, and witty(see my profile)

Well here is where I am on the journey home! I have spent many years discerning my vocation with my Spiritual Director. It has taken many years because I haven't been consistent with my personal prayer life. I attend or serve at mass everyday, except Wednesdays. Wednesdays I usually watch mass on vision T.V., because there is no mass being celebrated locally before I go to work. I feel called to all vocations. I didn't feel this before I registered on this web site, I was certain marriage was my vocation. God laughs apparently when we make plans. LOL I keep going in circles Priest, Marriage, etc. Tired of going in circles. Anyhow, if you want to help me discern my vocation that would be great! Maybe I can help you in some way? Who knows what God has in store! Please pray for me:+) May God Bless you, your family, and where ever God leads you! Amen.

I'm a simple man, I like peaceful Sunday mornings, I like dogs over cats, I like going to daily mass, I like epic movies, i.e. Gladiator, Braveheart, Forest Gump, Lord of the RIngs etc. I like to read, CS Lewis and GK Chesterton are some of my favs, right now I'm working on the heavier reads, like Dostoyevsky. I like get togethers with close friends, have good brew and a pipe, or good scotch. I like steak and lamb chops, those are my favourite foods. The people who have been most influential in my life, two of my best friends come to mind, they are influential to me because he live life deeply, they taught me life is not about how long you live, but the intensity you loved, and to live life boldly. In my leisure time, I enjoy physical activities, hiking, martial arts, working out. Now and again I enjoy music and theatre, whenever there're good plays I always go with friends, the last musical I saw was 'into the woods' it was alright :-P Most of all, I am here is because I want to have a family one day and live out the vocation of marriage, to me it is important to find someone who believes the same. The goal in this life is to get to be with God one day and become a saint, and I really believe the vocation of marriage for me is the primary way to live out that love. My favourite mysteries are the sorrowful mysteries, because it speaks to me the most about the depth of Gods love, Instead of telling me He loves me, He just does it in the most crazy way, crazy love is the best way I describe Gods Love for me. My favourite Gospel is the Gospel of John, I find it to be the most poetic, you see, hear and feel Jesus. The first verses of Johns Gospel makes my heart beat fast, because it makes me realize how far he had to come to save us and how lowly he chose to become out of love. The eucharist still blows my mind after all these years, that God gives Himself to us as food for our soul (mind blown), second to that is the sacrament of reconciliation, mind blowing, truly. Babies blows my mind, I like babies, they're so small, but everything is here, a body, a spirit all in one little package. I don't have children yet, but when I do, I want to teach my sons how to shave, get a hair cut and dress properly, the male youth of today are clueless when it comes to grooming; as for daughters, well, thats her mothers job, I'd just love her.
