43, Hermiston, ORRecently moved back with my parents to begin treatment for ADD and to reevaluate my direction in life & career. I'll likely soon begin studying for a Master's in Counseling in order to perhaps become a school counselor or child psychologist. I'm very active with assisting my parents on their acreage, building fences, chasing runaway steers, gardening, tree pruning, canning, smoking meat, etc. I've been enjoying learning to be self-sufficient. I have taken an active role with the church too. Tomorrow I'll be providing dinner for a family in need shortly before attending RCIA. I've been urged to join choir... and might eventually. I might soon also renew my membership with Knights of Columbus. Prior, I had been in Portland, struggling to make a living with my Bachelor's in Psychology, working as a staff in group homes and locked facilities for troubled & at-risk children. I've also been a volunteer with Big Brothers Big Sisters for several years. My little brother all this time just recently turned 17 and was accepted into the National Guard's Oregon Youth Challenge Program. Pretty proud of him. He did this to improve himself and is doing REALLY well. He asked me to mentor him through his time in the program and I accepted. As for my relationship life... I've never really had one. I've been in very few relationships with my longest lasting a whole 3 months. I tend to get kinda shy around women to whom I find myself attracted... however this may largely have been the untreated ADD. For example, my mind would become overwhelmed with thoughts contemplating every possible reaction to various ideas at opening a conversation. (And have historically been a magnet for unstable people. Must be drawn to my caregiving nature.) Now that my life is improving so dramatically, I'm desirous of beginning work on the social elements.
27, Hood River, ORI'm a business owner who enjoys his work compared to other careers I've had, it's a low-stress environment and money is good. I don't want to do it for the rest of my life, but it's good for now, and I can usually go anywhere I need to. I would like to travel and go places but have no one to travel with.
