I'm just a regular, ordinary guy. I like football, movies, and smooth jazz music. My faith is a very important part of my life although it hasn't always been that way. I do some volunteer work, particularly in a ministry which distributes food to the homeless. I try to keep physically fit by working out at least 3 times per week and I have been doing that for a number of years.

I am a cradle Cathoic from Montana. I am not looking for a relationship yet. I have been divorced for over twenty years. I am still working on an annulment. I am looking for a companion for dinner, a movie, play, concert or museum trips. I am involved in Church and sometimes go to the Tridentine Mass - which I used to serve as an altar boy. My youngest son calls it "old school" Mass. I still say grace before meals and bow my head at the Holy Name of Jesus. My two sons are grown. However they know that I am there for them. My youngest son got married about three years ago and I really like his wife. They had my first grandchild. He is so cute! They moved in with me last year. I am a single father and I think that, with God's help, I have done a good job in raising them. I am proud of both of them. They have good jobs and are doing well. However they both have left the Church. So I am in "St Monica" mode and praying them back in! In March of 2015 I will become a first time grandparent. I am really looking forward to that. And I will admit to wearing my heart of my sleeve.I love to cook. I am funny and fun to be with. I like to make puns which my youngest son called "dad jokes." I have been involved in the Church. At St Thomas Aquinas Parish in Sugarland I worked with the RCIA for three years as a sponsor and teacher. I was appointed as facilitator for the next three years . After moving to Round Rock I have been involved in the RCIA as a sponsor at St William parish. I belonged to the 9:30 choir for nine years at St Elizabeth of Hungary in Pflugerville. I was a guitar player and the "choir dad." I belong the Knights of Columbus (4th Degree) at St John Vianney parish in Round Rock and serve as an Usher there at the 8:00 Sunday Mass. Since I have retired I am now more involved with my Church. I attend daily Mass. I am a Sidewalk Counselor for 40 Days for Life and a substitute RE teacher in my parish. I am trying to make good use of the gifts that God has given me. As a Knight I am involved with the Lenten Fish Fry and our annual Vianney Fest every fall. After all, we are our Pastor's right arm. I had planned to sell my house in a year or two, however I just found out that I will be a first-time grandfather in March of 2015. I was going to move back to MY Montana but I will stay here for several more years to do the grandfather thing: spoiling the child and then giving it back to his parents!

I enjoy gardening, cooking, baking and just sitting outside enjoying nature, no hurry and going to mass . I enjoy a good cup of coffee taking leisure walks helping others and watching some TV and movies-- i might add, retired nurse, now homemaker. with two doggies i enjoy day trips by auto. blue bonnet flowers trails and dinner out on a patio of a fine or any good restaurant. also walk in the woods and-or by the water in the park. would like to meet a man that likes to do things at home , new ideas to be cheerful and with the same interest or near the same. some travel to see and explore the USA. ---- somebody smiled and the load I bore, lighter became than ever before. The road ahead wasn't nearly as long, and soon I was singing a joyful song. hearing the song, another drew near, whose heart was anxious and full of fear. We communed awhile of heavenly things, till doubt and misgivings had taken wings. Then each to his task with a prayer and a song, and a smile on our lips to help others along. How many were helped? we'll know after while. but it all began after somebody's smile! --------- Alice H Mortenson

I have had 2 entire careers and now retirement allows me to focus on the one dearest to my heart which is dance. I now give back what was given to me through my involvement with my church's concerts, summer arts camps, and I also teach dance locally here in Austin. But that is the tip of the iceberg. I love the outdoors, hiking, camping (my favorite restaurant is a campfire), hunting and fishing, gardening, spending time in my garage/shop, and, oh yes, riding my iron horse "Big Red". Not much of a joiner but I don't think of myself as a loner either. I have traveled to several countries at various times but I love the US and Canada. I have a huge respect for those that pioneered our country which some might find over the top. There are so many things that were known then that I would like to learn now. I think of myself as conservative but have friends of every stripe and persuasion. I like sharing my interests and like when others share with me. I would like to find a politically conservative, catholic woman who likes dogs and would like to start a friendship and see where it leads.

I am a caring and passionate person. I am youthful in my approach to life, and want to live life to the fullest. I don't want to give in to the old age thing. I still have the desire to be adventurous. I take care to keep myself looking as young as I feel. I value companionship but also value independence. I enjoy going out to eat, dancing, watching movies, sports events, and the arts. I enjoy spending time with family and friends, and I also value quite times at home.

I am very close to my family. I am a giver, as compared to others who are "takers". My parents did a good job helping me see the importance of serving others. I was a special needs teacher for 30 years before I retired. Since then I've traveled, part of which has been with my church family. we went to Roma as pilgrim last spring. It was an amazing trip.
