Retired school teacher (second career); was in banking for many years before that. Decided to retire and enjoy life. I like plays, concerts, auctions, spontaneous traveling, weekend adventures, garage sales, fishing. Seems like I am always working on a project or two. My faith is very important to me. I feel that I am a easy to get along with type person. A bit on the quiet side until I get to know you. I can enjoy a night going to a concert or play but also at home on a cold winter night sipping a glass of wine in front of a fireplace talking on any subject with someone I want to be with for a lifetime.

I am a busy and very involved mother of two. I enjoy leisure time to do things outside of the home. I try to be very health minded, spiritual minded and enjoy each day to the fullest. I love to laugh and I tend to gravitate to happy and funny people. I look forward to finding that wonderful someone that feels right from the very start. I still believe in that love at first sight thing but only, I haven't found that the second time around. Surely God has that in store for me. I have been trusting Him to lead that special someone to me.

I am an honest person, can be trusted, caring, passionate, easy to deal with and so friendly. I look forward to meeting people who can be my friend, one who is also honest, caring, thoughtful, with sense of humor and patience and understanding. I don't like demanding and arrogant people. in my free time, I would like to go malling, go for coffee, reading a lot, watching movies and news on tv at home.

I have been single for 6 years, and am ready to see what God has in mind for me now. I feel like something is missing even though I have a terrific family. I have 3 adult children and 3 amazing grandchildren. Family is extremely important to me. I feel very strongly about my faith and really do believe that actions speak louder than words. I would rather smile than frown and would rather laugh than cry. I love silly movies, bad sci Fi, watching the waves on a beach, and listening to classic rock and roll. I love being in the city, dining out, concerts, movies, and theater, but am just as happy in the country, gardening, sitting on the deck in the evening listening to the crickets, or just being with someone I care about.

Oh boy. Let me start off by saying this is extremely painful and humiliating for me. I always said I could never do online dating. Not until my confessor asked me, "What are you doing about it?" when I told him I believed my vocation to be wife and mother. Since I've tried everything else I can think of and have had no luck finding a true Catholic MAN striving to imitate Our Lord as St Joseph did, here I am. I want to do my part as my confessor advised... and I guess practice a little humility in the process. Ok here it goes: I am the oldest of 7, so I love big families. My family and I are very close; when I'm not working, I'm with them. I go to an FSSP parish in a small town and have since I was 12 yrs old. I did try the convent. My patron is St Therese of the Child Jesus. I pray every day that Our Lord inflame my heart with love for Him as His burns for me. I've done a horrible job of it in my life so far, but every day, every breath is another blessed chance to make it right. I'd love to have a family of my own like that of St Louis and St Marie-Azelie Martin. To have a relationship where the other loves you so and has eternity in mind, striving for holiness together daily, is something so beautiful and rare, should one dare to think that could be possible anymore? Only God knows. Then to raise little saints! And one of the greatest at that! Yes, that's my dream.

I was having a hard time with this section, so I decided to post an edited portion of my latest Christmas letter, which I believe reveals some of my personality and interests. Since my daughter went off to college this Fall, I have a little more time to get things done. After all, I'm not obligated to anyone. If I want to have a bowl of watermelon for dinner, that's what I have! No milk? No problem! Friends want to go out for dinner? I'm available! Which is not to say that I don't miss my daughter very much. This year, I went on my first cruise. As expected, the food was wonderful. (I'd really like to know how they manage to keep everything so fresh!) The time on the boat was my least favorite. I really enjoyed the excursions. We climbed a waterfall, went snorkeling, and swam with the stingrays. The summer was pretty uneventful. I did take up yoga again on an intermittent basis. I also do a LOT of reading in the summer--over 20 books! Many of them I checked out from the library. I even participated in the Reading Club and won a $10 gift card! Anyway, the library offered free yoga during the summer, so I started going to that. I also attended a yoga/brunch that I had purchased at a charity auction nearly a year before. It was fun. But hot. It was hot yoga, even though it wasn't supposed to be. Do people actually PAY for hot yoga during the summer? It was lovely to see some women that I don't see very often and to chat with them over a very delicious brunch. I am also fortunate to have several groups of friends that meet regularly (if inconsistently) for dinner and conversation. They go by different names in my head: the Catholic ladies (aka Cinco Squad), the divorced ladies (aka Who's Going to Drive Me to My Colonoscopy?), the PTA ladies, and the retired ladies. I hope you have a fantastic Christmas and a wonderful 2017! (Already? I still remember Y2K.) Hopefully, that gives you an accurate snapshot of me.
