My interests include: walking, music, current affairs, pilates, cooking, theatre (especially musicals) travelling, meeting up with friends . I am also a home loving person who enjoys quieter relaxed evenings. What do I look forward to most is when visiting my family or simply meeting up with a friend for coffee (socialising) I would describe myself as open, caring, trusted, affectionate and warm hearted, respectful and understanding. Faith is important in my life. The most influential people in my life besides family and friends are those I have met as volunteers at my local parish working selflessly despite their demanding careers to support the church and community.

I am easy going person. Loves a good laugh and great conversation. I believe in working hard, playing hard but safe and travelling as much as possible in between the two. I am very flexible and tend to mirror the wishes of those around me, because when they are happy, I am happy. Any other thing about me is best experienced than told, but please feel free to ask me any questions!

Hi, well this feels strange, but the time is right for me to step out in faith to see if it is possible to find a special person to celebrate with, and to share the great things life has to offer, both good and not so good. I am a happy man, I love life, which is busy and content, and maybe, I hope, I am ready to trust someone deeply. I don't want to say too much here, I would like to leave plenty to talk about.

Hello. I am English by birth (Irish mum) and my family emigrated to South Africa when I was young. My folks passed away suddenly and unexpectedly in 2010 and I returned to England in late 2011 mainly out of concern for my long term future in SA. My passions are the support of animal/wildlife rescue groups, photography & films, music, dance, good books, history, art history, architecture, documentaries, crime series, visiting galleries and the company of good friends. I love travel, being near the sea & good restaurants and tasty foreign dishes and miss barbecue's under the scenic African night sky. The most influential people in my life have been my family and friends. I do enjoy travelling into London to visit galleries and sightseeing as it is such an amazing city and count Dublin, Johannesburg and Durban as my other favourite cities. Driving through the English countryside is truly special and I have enjoyed attending retreats at the Convent of the Poor Clare Nuns in scenic Arundel. Guernsey is also a favourite place as I spent a few months of the year working on the island from 2012-15 . I miss the "buzz" and exciting cultural mix of the SA art and graphic design scene as well as the friendliness of SA folk and at times find life in England cautious and reserved. I am working on regaining the peace (mainly) and happiness that has been lacking in my life mainly due to the demands of settling in a "new" country and of leaving all that is familiar, definite and secure behind to start again.

The most influential experience was my conversion to the Faith as an undergraduate at Cambridge, the most influential person, my friend there who introduced me to the concept of meeting Our Lord in the Mass. The most exciting and satisfying job: Research Assistant (+ Speechwriter) to an MP. I am passionate about helping homeless people (having been invited to speak on BBC Radio recently on 3 occasions), defending the poor from unjust welfare and employment laws and business practices, not stigmatising people for any reason, defending victims of injustice and tyranny e.g. people condemned to death, especially if innocent or mentally ill (by at least signing petitions on their behalf), - although I oppose the death penalty in principle and practice anyway - treating animals kindly etc. I am also a firm believer that both as a duty of charity and in order to make progress, the pro-life movement, which I support, must emphasise and offer its help to pregnant women in trouble. In a different way, I am passionate about good food: usually the simpler the better, and let it be fresh! I can also enjoy cooking but results can be hit and miss! A life-long passion which has occasionally achieved publication (most recently this February), is writing and editing. Subjects include history and the state of the nation, as well as fiction and poetry. For leisure, I greatly enjoy the company of an intelligent conversationalist over a simple dinner with a glass or two (pretty much my preferred limit) of wine or beer - or while strolling in the countryside or a public park or garden. Topics of conversation could include history, legal matters, literature, politics, Church matters, scientific developments, philosophy or what you will. I also greatly enjoy sharing the pleasure of a good film on DVD (favoured genres include: biopics, classic comedy [carefully selected], classic drama/thrillers, courtroom drama, history/historical drama, Catholic devotional, Shakespeare etc - but will tolerate a modern romantic comedy if you insist! Actually, the best are good fun). Cinema or theatre also occasionally enjoyed. PS I put 'no children'; I have a son who is a 27-yr-old adult. NB although I attend old rite Mass when I can, most Sundays Latin new rite, said and sung with great beauty. It is more convenient.

I'm a largely self-employed graphic designer, who also instructs a little Bikeability. It is both fulfilling and great for the exercise! I would say I am open-minded, sincere and thoughtful. I am relatively new to faith, but it now instructs and guides me and is why I'm here. Happy to correspond and answer any questions around that. I think I have always had a reasonable social conscience, but know that is has been without direction. I like differing activities, from cycling to some 'fun' football. I play guitar, think I'm a pretty good cook and like to enjoy good food. I like to hike a little and think a walk and country pub with a ploughman's and an ale might describe a nice Sunday out. Over the years I've hang-glided, parachuted, skied and snowboarded (what a sensation!), climbed (once in the Dolomites!), sailed, windsurfed and been to a fair few places, from Australia, to Philippines to Bognor Regis! I'm a bit more of a home chap these days, within community and increasingly the church as I hope to grow in faith. I still quite like the idea of a camper van and finding the beauty of the UK and maybe further into Europe.
