I am very passionate about music and singing, I feel most alive when I am singing especially in adoration. I am also a very social person and I like to be outside, active, and with friends. I love my family very much and am very close to them. In my leisure time I like to try and learn new things, learn languages, and I just started volunteering in the pediatrics. I am going to leave it to you to learn more about me :) I don't want to spoil the fun!

Legal professional in Essex Junction, VT. In my free time you can find me singing in my parish's choir, spending time with friends, rooting for the Red Sox and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, or Netflix-bingeing. I'm a bit shy when I first meet people, but become very outgoing and make a lot of jokes with people I've gotten to know. I spent my childhood outside DC in Maryland, went to college and law school in northern Indiana, and previously worked in Washington DC and Midtown Manhattan. I've been here in Vermont for two and a half years now, and definitely consider it home!

I'm passionate about social justice. I love the church and all of her teachings. Even those I don't understand entirely I trust Mother church to guide our reasoning and values. I like to chill and read, play soccer, learn new languages and eat lots of innovative foods like raw/vegetarian recipes. I'm in law school so leisure time is a luxury.

I enjoy spending time with family and friends. I enjoy playing and watching sports. I also enjoy learning and always look for opportunities to learn something new that will help me with my professional work or my personal life.

Passionate and caring are words that would best describe me. As an educator, I strive to support the kiddos I work with with tools for their success. I work hard to learn about students, and care for their needs. I also serve an active role in the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life. Helping the public to join the fight against cancer is an important part of my life. In my leisure time, I enjoy outdoor activities, including running, biking, hiking, and skiing. I often enjoy spending time outdoors whenever possible. Some of the most influential people in my life have been my family and close friends. Their guidance, support, and influence have encouraged me to work toward my goals. Presently, I will be Event Chair for the Relay for Life, and will be starting my second master's in education administration in the spring.

It is hard, at times, to truly express what someone is passionate about in a limited format. Passion is best expressed when you encounter someone and can see the visceral reaction that they have either to something they witness, or something they talk about. The voice raises. The eyes get wider. The attention span goes from multi-tasking to being locked onto the subject that they care about. I suppose, then, in that sense that the thing I am most passionate about would be History. I love my family, I love my friends, and I do enjoy them immensely, my life is rich with them in it, and I hope to expand on these two things in my future, but something I truly love, truly immerses me, would be the study and the subject of History. I like to imagine what it must have been like to travel the seas, at the whims of God and wind sailing into the unknown. What it must have felt like to don the heavy armor, and how hot it was inside as you look over a field knowing that someone on the other side feels the same apprehension as you do. Or how does one actually prepare a meal without the modern things we take for granted? Who was the first person that discovered wheat could be made into bread, or that when corn first popped over heat was not something crazy and scary but tasty? I do have a passion for many things. People, stories, jokes, sports, family. But the one thing that will lead me down a never-ending Google hole, and send me off into daydreams on end is History. I suppose I seek a partner, or someone to join me in both exploring such a thing, and perhaps writing our own someday. Maybe not world-famous, but everyone has history in their background. I hope that with the right woman, we can create our own. I'm an introvert at heart, and while I have no problems being social (I'm not one of those scary awkward people. Honest. Really), I find I need to recharge my batteries with periods of being alone. This allows for both an intellectual, and spiritual self-reflection. I try to live my life to be as good a person as I can be. I'm not always as "Catholic" as I should be, but I once heard (or read, something) that the measure of a man can be determined by how he treats women, children, and animals. Every day I endeavor to treat all three, as well as other men with as much respect and understanding as I can. I may have been taught theology, philosophy, and Latin by Jesuits, but all I hope to be known for is that I am a good man.

I'm afraid I haven't got as much to tell as some people on here. I've been Catholic most of my life, and come from the city of Burlington here in Vermont. I didn't have many friends in school, so I'm rather shy. But I do like meeting new people, and I love being able to share my interests and hobbies. I'm also not very good at writing introductions for myself, as you can see here! I'm a passionate reader! My favorite authors include Stephen King, Tolkien, George R.R. Martin, G.K. Chesterton, Neil Gaiman, and many others. When I've got some free time I'm usually reading or practicing my writing, hoping to be an author some day. I'm also a big music fan. My favorite band is Rush, but I'm also a fan of the classics like Bing Crosby and Frank Sinatra. Honestly, most Prog Rock/Prog Metal appeals to me. The more meaningful the lyrics and talented the musicianship, the better. I'm also a huge movie fan! From Arsenic and Old Lace, to Star Wars, to the Marvel Movies (I'm a big comic book reader too!) to High Society, my taste in movies and tv is eclectic to say the least!

I really like to be involved with my Catholic community. I was a lector, I am a first year confirmation teacher, and I am a member of Kinights of Columbus. Outside of the Church I am a volunteer firefighter for my town. In my free time I enjoy hiking, camping, canoeing, fishing, running, and working out.
  • Benjamin, 18 from Richmond, VT

My name is Benjamin but everyone calls me Ben. I am not very good at talking about myself but I'll do my best. I am most passionate about composing music, programming games, drawing and painting, doing math, writing, and watching anime. I always put my friends and family first because I love being kind. I also love sarcasm and puns. I love kids and I spent much of my childhood with kids younger than me (cousins, neighbors, etc) in addition to my friends. I want to have at least 3 kids. I live for God but the one thing I want in my life for my own sake is to be married. I've wanted to be married ever since I was 2 years old and I saw how happy my parents were together. Everything else in my life I do to try to use the gifts God gave me to make the world better. (I will update my profile picture as soon as I take my senior picture in October)

I enjoy taking time to appreciate the fact that God gave me breath - breathing in God's love, and being grateful for each moment of life, is very important to me - I cannot function well if I'm trying to go fast; or if I'm complaining all the time, or if I'm taking for granted all the gifts that God has blessed me with. I was born with some learning differences; I call them "differences", as my faith, combined with showing kindness to others, has taught me that they are not learning "disabilities"; I am not "disabled" by any stretch of the word. My mind is wonderful and I want to share the strengths my mind displays with a partner. My mind allows me to be good at, and enjoy, cooking, reading, writing poetry and song lyrics, playing musical instruments (on a basic level right now), and discussing the wonders of life; life's questions and challenges (My small-town, Catholic liberal-arts college education helped fuel this love of verbage and musing. If we end up dating frequently, be prepared to do a lot of musing on the couch with cold bottles of beer or hard cider - I DO consume alcohol, but God is HIGH above everything else that could be addicting for me). I work at a drop-in community center for those who identify (or not) as having mental health needs, and I volunteer at a maker space (wood shop, metal shop, etc...) where I build homemade percussion instruments. I'm a drummer/percussionist/sound junkie, but I promise not to drive you crazy. :^)
