Trying to come up with something to catch people's attention is difficult & have found I'm not that creative. So just to stick with the basics. Family & friends are very important to me. I'm very close with mine & wouldn't trade them for anything. My faith has helped me through difficult times, and, want someone to share them with. I'm originally from Pennsylvania but transplanted to VA at the age of 9, lived in VA for over 30 years. Die-hard Steelers, Pirates, and Penguins fan. I graduated from ODU and excited to now have our own football team, which I have season tickets to :) So yes, I'm interested in sports. I've been running for the last 5 years. The longest I've been able to complete is a half-marathon but my goal is to run a full marathon in the next year. I love destination races, it gives me an excuse to combine a vacation and a race at the same time. My favorite so far is Key West, but, I'm giving the Disney races a shot in 2016 since I'm a kid at heart. I've also gotten into ju jitsiu; helps balance the mind. There are a lot of areas I'm passionate about. For about 7 years in the early 2000's, I volunteered at my company's charitable foundation helping children with life-threatening diseases. I'm a huge animal lover and have spent time volunteering at the local SPCA. With my work schedule, I can't always participate in the areas I would like at church, such as the choir, but I volunteer in different areas when I can. As the daughter of a veteran, military organizations are very important to me.

Hi, I'm Michael. Thank you for visiting my profile :-) I have just moved back to Virginia after serving honorably in the U.S Army. Now that I am out I am attending college to obtain an higher education. I'm a fun loving person, who tries to find the silver lining in any situation, though I can have quite the sarcasm doing so haha. The two most important persons to me is God and my Family. After all without God it would be merely impossible to be a good wholesome loving person to help others become better versions of themselves. I am pretty close to my family and we have an tendency to know when something is up haha. Anywho. I am kind of a dork/nerd as I love computer games and technology. I am a light hearted person, always trying to find humor in the simplest of things. I find humor to be very important as it reminds a person that not everything is doom and gloom; happiness should be always present. You'll have to get to know me to see what I'm talking about. Whenever I meet some one new I have a semi shell on, but once I break through that and am more relaxed you'll discover that I'm really fun to be around and that I will take care of you as I do take care of my friends and family. I'm open to doing anything fun including, but not limited to, hiking, running, swimming, cooking and just spending time with friends. Cooking is one of my favorite things to do. I pretty much will cook with whatever I have to work with. Cooking over a camp fire is especially enjoyable as it combines two of my great passions: being outside and cooking. I do love a good old hike up a mountain side to be able to look out over the land and just enjoy the magnificent view. With all the cooking I love to do, I have to be able to work off all the delicious food. Thankfully, I love to be active, including but not limited to running, though my hobby that i'm trying to make a hobby out of is Biking, so fare I've put over 100 miles on it under a week. :-) . I also love to swim and just spend time in the water, as it is really relaxing and fun at the same time. Of course, while I prefer being outside swimming, I have no problem finding some indoor pool when the weather isn't great.Long story short; I am in search of a woman, who is big into family, easy going, and has a good sense of humor. Someone with whom I can just sit down and have a good old fashion conversation about any thing and everything, or go out on an impromptu adventure.

Hello! I imagine a lot of folks say "I've never done anything like this before." Having not dated much since 1999 (prior to getting married), I feel as if I've lost touch with how it is done. I do know that I didn't meet people on the internet back then. That said, my faith is important so I'd rather eliminate that variable by coming to a place where everyone else does too. Per my profile, I'm divorced. Nobody plans for this. I took my vows very seriously. I've heard that there was the person you were before a divorce, who you are during it, and who you become afterwards. I'm trying my hardest to make the best of the latter. I owe it to myself, my daughter, my loving family and close friends, and to my future partner (God willing). I'm caring and passionate about many things but can also be a bit of a live wire too. If I can find something to laugh about, I will! My humor can be a little edgy at times but not mean spirited. In fact, I surely poke more fun at myself than everyone else combined. I have no problem being in a party atmosphere but also enjoy quiet, one-on-one moments. I have strong values but also a bit of a wild streak. I love playing live music (guitar, vocals) and I'm very passionate about music. I appreciate many genres but you'll more often catch me rocking out. I love art as well. I did stained glass for a few years and plan on getting back to it. I also enjoy photography. I know the Catholic Faith reasonably well which surprises some folks based on aspects of my personality. I'm definitely a talker and I'm very inquisitive about the world around me. I've seen a lot of the latter (40+ countries) and I still enjoy meeting people from far off lands (or just a few towns over). My education is mixed between Liberal Arts and Engineering which I'm sure has helped in making me somewhat analytic and compassionate at the same time. Passions: Family, friends, animals, adventure, music, and art. Influential people: From Saints to rock stars! Influential experiences: The pure joy of being a father; working all over the world; having been "down for the count" yet surviving to fight another day. For fun: Day trips with my daughter and dogs, playing live music, concerts, travel, watching movies, visiting National Parks, historical sites and museums, playing games (pinball, retro arcade, trivia).

I am a widow who has healed...mostly. I have two wonderful children who are vey successful and grown. I still talk to them both on most days. I have always had a very strong faith until my wife got seriously sick. My faith was shaken but not destroyed. I would say I am in the challenging phase. I am at the point in y life where I am at least thinking about retirement. I know in order to be successful in that goal I will need a playmate, I am funny, secure and a good catch I think.

I feel fortunate to have my wonderful family nearby and love spending time with them each week. I enjoy traveling and new experiences. In the past few years, I've been crossing bigger trips off my "must see" list, meanwhile keeping busy with local activities, from cheering on the Nationals to playing volleyball with coworkers. I look forward to seeing where life will take me next. (I'm thinking New Orleans!) Besides time spent simply enjoying good company, I feel most whole when taking in the peace of the outdoors or pursuing my creative side. I love to cook; in my opinion nothing tops a good meal (meat-free in my case) and wine shared with the people I love. While I enjoy getting to know people, I tend to be slow to open up and really be myself.

My name is Miguel. My faith is incredibly important to me, though I can admit I struggle with it at times. The important thing is to get back up and keep going. I've been a musician since I was four and music influences every part of my life, from the moment I wake up until my head hits the pillow again. I'm quite outgoing and I love being around people. English is my second language, Sarcasm is my first and most fluent. I'm a die-hard Redskins fan, and a big D.C. sports fan in general. In my free time I prefer being outside, going on road trips, and discovering new things.

Put others before yourself. - I tell my kids to consider, "Your opinion is not the most important one in the room - Listen." This is something I strive for daily. Other things I find myself saying frequently: Be yourself. Life is far too short for over thinking. Be a nice human. Give. Be kind. There but for the grace of God go I. Stand your ground. What is popular isn't always right - what's right isn't always popular. I want to find that *one* man. I'm not looking to "hook up" and I'm not adverse to dating - it's how we get to know each other, but ultimately, I'm looking for another soul mate, I've been widowed for 13 years - I think its time ;) I am very loyal and devoted with the right man. My interests are eclectic, outdoors, crafts (basket making, hand spinning alpaca yarns from my small herd) cooking, gardening, GOOD conversation, shooting, hiking, wine tasting, cuddling under the stars or by the fire, and absolutely anything to do with the ocean no matter the time of year. I love to laugh, laughter is essential, having a great sense of humor is how we get through life. Have you ever considered that God has a sick sense of humor? I laugh daily at the follies of our humanity. I'm very spiritual and my religion keeps me centered. I'm also very to the point, you'll always know my thoughts, no games, no drama - no time for any of that. Being considerate of other's thoughts, feelings and views is important to me, I have my own opinions but that doesn't mean I'm always right ;). Friends discribe me as honest, generous, thoughtful, loyal, dependable, capable, and determined. I have been blessed beyond measure and believe in giving back. I try hard to "be a nice human". If you're part of my circle you won't go hungry. I know my way around the kitchen - or the grill - if I like you, I feed you. If you're coming for dinner, come hungry! If you had told me 15 years ago that I would be using a computer to create a meaningful connection with another person I would have looked askance and laughed. Yet here I am - (here we are). Send me an email, I'll respond ;) Best of luck in your search for connection and real human contact in this disconnected world! Blessings, Kathy

God goes, belonging to every riven thing he's made sing his being simply by being the thing it is: stone and tree and sky, man who sees and sings and wonders why God goes. Belonging, to every riven thing he's made, means a storm of peace. Think of the atoms inside the stone. Think of the man who sits alone trying to will himself into the stillness where God goes belonging. To every riven thing he's made there is given one shade shaped exactly to the thing itself: under the tree a darker tree; under the man the only man to see God goes belonging to every riven thing. He's made the things that bring him near, made the mind that makes him go. A part of what man knows, apart from what man knows, God goes belonging to every riven thing he's made. Christian Wiman, Every Riven Thing (2010).
