My goals are to continue to nourish the wonderful relationships I have with my family and friends, to make a meaningful contribution through my career, and, of course, to find a soul mate with whom to share the journey. My hobbies are travel, hiking, sailing, playing tennis, gardening, reading, going to the theatre and watching movies. I am learning ballroom and Latin dancing. I have a strong sense of adventure and am open to new experiences and diverse opinions. My taste in music ranges from 1960s folk music, to rock to opera. I love them all and chose them depending on my mood and the environment.

My life is good! I am very appreciative of that and try to pay it forward by helping others through various types of volunteer work. I thoroughly enjoy interacting and connecting with others - - whether it's doing something lively, fun and maybe silly, or being calm and subdued and having great conversation. I guess I can be described with contradictions--sometimes outgoing, sometimes shy or reserved; sometimes curious and anxious to try something new, other times content; disciplined and responsible or frequently casual and free spirited. I've been described by others as sensitive, flexible, even-tempered, dependable and genuine. I have strong beliefs, but am always open to hearing and considering different opinions and ideas. I enjoy music, movies, biking, walking, socializing with friends, gardening, reading, traveling, exploring, dining out and am learning to play golf. I love going to the theatre and spending time at the beach--or anywhere near water. I really enjoy exploring Virginia--it's such a beautiful state. I love to travel but haven't done nearly as much as I'd like yet. Some "hope to's" on my list are Yellowstone, Spain, England and spending more time in France and Italy.

I am a recovering workaholic, who has focused almost exclusively on my professional career for the last 13 years; this is very easy to do inside the Beltway. I want to find a special friend to spend fun time with. Life is so short. We need to smile more. Harry Truman said, "If you want a friend in Washington, get a dog." I'd rather find a male companion. I believe that part of Gods plan for me is the special man He has been preparing with only me in mind. I believe the time to meet this special man is NOW. Could it be you? Let's pray that God enables the right people to meet. I would love to experience mutual love in the greatest love of my life.
  • Donna, 60 from Spotsylvania, VA
    60, Spotsylvania, VA
I was born and raised in a traditional Catholic family in Pittsburgh. I now live in Virginia, but go back to visit my family every chance I get. I am still in Virginia because my two grown sons and my grandchildren are here. I truly enjoy spending time with my grandchildren and watching how amazing they are. I love the outdoors, and like to hike or just go for a long walk. My quiet time is spent reading, praying and just being thankful for all of my blessings. I am partially self employed, so I do spend a lot of work time on the computer. I am somewhat of a dreamer, and am consistently motivated by possibilities. I feel that God guides me in life, and everything I desire to achieve, can be done through faith.

I am not quite comfortable talking about myself but will do my best. I am originally from New York but have lived in Virginia at least half my life. Love the scenery, the people and lots to do. I am a very upbeat person, love to laugh, meet new people and try new things. Need someone who can keep up with me as I love to be on the go. I love to be outdoors riding my bike, walking and gardening. I have a wonderful family, four fine sons who are all decent and honorable men. I have my family, my faith and my friends so I consider myself very fortunate. I would like to meet someone who enjoys adventure and meeting new people. I have been described as a loyal friend, have a good sense of humor, very bubbly and try to be kind and respectful to all those I meet. Hoping to meet someone between the ages of 60 and 72 with a good heart, great sense of humor, likes to travel and try new things.

I have been a practicing Catholic all my life. I was widowed shortly after retiring several years ago. My marriage lasted lasted almost 50 years. My daytime occupation was being an applied physicist helping to solve problems to keep our country safe. On many evenings I entertained people as a square dance caller. Major passions in my life are family relationships and the joy of learning. I had 7 full time years of formal university education and continue to explore new interests. I spent one year as an adjunct professor and have also taught hundreds of good folks how to have fun with square dancing. As far as community service goes I am a member of he Knights of Columbus and have served in many offices within the Knights, including being Grand Knight at St. John Neumann parish in Reston Virginia. Besides my parents, a major influence in my like was Reverend William Shonka. A Benedictine priest, Phd in physics, and head of the physics department at St. Procopius College where I earned a BS in physics. I met Rev, Shonka when I was a junior in high school at a college night event where representatives came to talk about colleges where they worked. He was a short wirery man who so excited man about physics that I changed my mind about being a chemist and went to his college and took every math and physics course he taught. As far as my leisure time goes I love to restaurant hop, go to the movies, music events, wineries, art and historical museums. To keep in shape I try to ride an exercise bike the equivalent of 5 miles every day. One of these days I may actually learn how to cook. I think that I personally am responsible for keeping the frozen TV dinner industry alive.

Extrovert. Love music--sing and play. Exceptional conversationalist. I learn from others so much. People trust me. I have longstanding and cherished friends from all chapters of my life. My loyalty to my friends knows no bounds. Southern Californian. Retired Navy. Ole Miss grad. My essence is captured in the persona of Kris Kristofferson, as he excelled as a student (Rhodes Scholar), athlete, military man (Vietnam Vet), poet, actor, songwriter, and singer. I like this diversity in him and strive for it in myself. I am a prolific writer. I read a lot and love binge-watching certain shows, but not much else TV-wise. Was raised on the beach and love the sea, ocean, and everything about the lifestyle. I desire a friendship that becomes more. I would like to find someone to share thoughts, emotions, ideas, cooking, theater, music venues, and family. New York City is a favorite gettaway. I have two adult children who are amazing, independent and without issues. The joy of my heart is my 2.5 year old grandson. There is room for you too (or someone else) in that heart. Just to be clear on the smoking thing----I smoke an occasional cigar. Not cigarettes. Smoking is not a show-stopper for me. It's important you be yourself and if you smoke, no worries.

I love life. Each day is a blessing and I am grateful. I love outdoor life, running, walking, hiking, camping, kayaking, swimming, walking on beach. I really love the sound and smell of the ocean. I love my children and grandchildren and love spending time with them. Family is very important. I love to read and go to movies or just make some popcorn and watch at home. I am trying to challenge myself all the time and grow. I would love to find someone I connect with to share my life with. My dad was the most influential person in my life. He taught me to be patient, kind, accepting, loving and generous. He was an amazing person.

Hello, my name is Dave; I'm an avid cyclist. Living near the W&OD trail allows easy travel to church, shopping, places of interest, and friends on my bicycle. Happily traveling day or night within the towns of Reston and Herndon is bike friendly and I have no fears about safety. Since retiring from an accountant career my friend and his wife enthusiastically introduced me to the Catholic Church and this influence is now fully edifying. The parish has such friendly welcoming people and many opportunities for service and study. For leisure activities reading is a passion, nonfiction mostly, and biographies. Also the major sports of baseball, football, basketball, and hockey get me excited. Every July the Tour de France is televised here in the U.S. and I can hardly wait!
