Hobbies are walking for fitness, working out, reading, and personal investing. Also re-habbed homes in the past. Good with tools. Able to fix most problems around the home. Able to do basic plumbing, electrical, and wallboard type work. I usually buy an older home, and update it to more modern building code standards.

The Summer Catholic Match special and the thought of meeting some nice gentlemen lured me back on to this site! Young hearted. Am open to learning, doing new things. Small delights as well as big. Easy going or dressed up. Home or road trip. Learned how to ride a motorcycle and now love that time on the road. A night shift nurse, so my focus is a little different than the 9-5 routine. Not into drama. but do like an adventure. Dog lover. So much more to get to know.

I am 71 years old and retired. I go to Mass almost daily and am active in the Marion Society, the pro life ministry, and support of the military through my church. I enjoy travel and have a spirit of adventure, something that I discovered since my separation. I went sky diving, danced with the Indians in the jungle of Peru and went on safari in Kenya and Tanzania. I have also toured eastern Europe. I have four married sons and 11 fantastic grand children that are a joy in my life. I kid sit frequently. I like to cook, do needlecraft and refinish old furniture. I enjoy the legitimate theatre and going to the movies.I like watching old movies from the 30's and 40's on TCM. I've learned to be handy since being on my own, but do rely on my sons for any heavy work to be done around the house. Life is good and it would be nice to have a male friend to attend social events with me. I have a few aches and pains owing to my age but no major ailments, thank the good Lord. I have a wonderful little dog, Winston. He weighs all of nine pounds and is very important to me. I love animals.

I'm known as the purple lady but please don't let that scare you off. I just really have a thing for the color purple. Once you meet me, you'll understand. I'm an Army brat so I grew up all over the world, never planting any roots until my dad retired in No. Va. I earned a BS degree in Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1973, worked for Fairfax County Department of Family Services, retiring in 2004. I now work part time at a HUD facility where I arrange travel for low income residents to medical appointments. During my free time I enjoy going to the movies, I love the theatre (even though I haven't been in ages), dining out with friends. But what I'm really looking for is a good, honest, caring, Catholic man who is looking for a good, honest, caring Catholic woman for friendship, companionship and whatever else God may have in store. If you think we might click .........

I am a happy & commited mother of 2 boys. One is still a senior in HS. I work hard at my job & being an involved mom but it would be nice at times to have a friend to speak to about different subjects, share a meal or a movie.I do quite a bit volunteer work as well as being a Realtor. I volunteer at OAR,(opportunities, alternatives & resources for those who have been incarcerated), Family PASS (home location for the homeless) & ad hoc projects as they arise. I enjoy experiencing nature & all the Lord has given us to appreciate in our beautiful surroundings. I feel very close to the Lord when I take the time to look around & enjoy all the miracles we see in our world. Honestly I wish I had more time to sit back & appreciate all the gifts God has bestowed on us.

I have been a practicing Catholic all my life. I was widowed shortly after retiring several years ago. My marriage lasted lasted almost 50 years. My daytime occupation was being an applied physicist helping to solve problems to keep our country safe. On many evenings I entertained people as a square dance caller. Major passions in my life are family relationships and the joy of learning. I had 7 full time years of formal university education and continue to explore new interests. I spent one year as an adjunct professor and have also taught hundreds of good folks how to have fun with square dancing. As far as community service goes I am a member of he Knights of Columbus and have served in many offices within the Knights, including being Grand Knight at St. John Neumann parish in Reston Virginia. Besides my parents, a major influence in my like was Reverend William Shonka. A Benedictine priest, Phd in physics, and head of the physics department at St. Procopius College where I earned a BS in physics. I met Rev, Shonka when I was a junior in high school at a college night event where representatives came to talk about colleges where they worked. He was a short wirery man who so excited man about physics that I changed my mind about being a chemist and went to his college and took every math and physics course he taught. As far as my leisure time goes I love to restaurant hop, go to the movies, music events, wineries, art and historical museums. To keep in shape I try to ride an exercise bike the equivalent of 5 miles every day. One of these days I may actually learn how to cook. I think that I personally am responsible for keeping the frozen TV dinner industry alive.

I am passionate about my faith, family and my grandkids. Having been married to a career military man for over 40 years, I believe that that life and being raised in a very caring traditional Catholic family has shaped me into who I am today. I enjoy traveling, quilting and sewing in my leisure time. I, also, enjoy gardening and the outdoors.

From my Midwestern upbringing I learned the importance of community and hard work. From the Dominican sisters I learned Christian values and the tenets of the Catholic faith. My faith is the core of my life; it directs my decisions. I moved to Washington DC because of my interest in politics and policy. I am politically moderate but have friends of all political stripes. I love to host dinner parties where we share ideas on politics, religion and world affairs. These gatherings are spiked wih laughter and affection. I am moved by great oratory, a Mozart sonata, the Potomac at dawn, a beautiful sentence. Cooking, reading, writing, swimming and hanging out with friends are some of my favorite past times. I am the proud host mom of international students from around the world who have blessed my life richly. As a lifelong student, I will never retire from learning, exploring and new adventures. I love the lights of Paris and the stars on my brother's farm. I am drawn to the energy of the city and the tranquility of the country. I grew up swimming and sailing and continue to love the water. I love the smell of a campfire and coffee in the morning.
