    39, McLean, VA
Hello, my name is Megan and I am a native of McLean, VA. I attended the U. of Notre Dame for undergrad and grad school, spent a year studying in France and after graduation decided to run away to Paris and become French...I had been there nearly 3 years when 9/11 happened, and I got unexpectedly homesick and returned to NoVA in 2002, and have been here ever since. My passions in life are reading and languages. For fun I like just about anything cultural - dance, theater, art museums - but I also like to just relax and hang out with friends and family. My faith, including all of the beautiful teachings of the Catholic church, is the center of my life.

I am a positive person--definitely a cup half full kinda attitude. I am patient, which is very important as I work with kids. I am the athletic director at an independent school. It can be a lot of hours, but i know I make a difference in their lives. For "fun" during the off-season, I coach a summer league swim team. Which I know may seem like work to others, but its not to me. I love every minute of it- the sun, the water, the laughter, and the craziness. I have some good friends and a great family that I am very close to. I am 1 of 5 and have 8 nephews/nieces and everyone lives near by so I get to spend lots of time with them. I am 50% Argentine as my mom is originally from there...and my dad is from the Midwest . It's definitely an interesting combination! Have you ever seen the movie "My Big Fat Greek Wedding"? Well i can definitely relate! Not only can my family be loud & crazy, but growing up I attended an Argentine school every Saturday morning. So I am fluent in Spanish. I enjoy playing/watching/coaching sports, reading, board games, sudoku, movies, and am willing to try pretty much anything. My favorite sports to watch are college basketball (Duke!) and professional baseball (Orioles) & football (go pack go!). I enjoy swimming, bowling, playing basketball. I hate to run, but I do it anyways. I am a bit of a movie junkie, my favorites are action or romantic comedies. I enjoy going out and trying new restaurants & bars and consider myself a bit of a foodie.

I love the Church and I am eternally grateful to God for what He has done for me. He has changed my life for the better and saved me from many troubles. I grew up Catholic but did not realize the beauty of the Church until I was in college and a retreat opened my eyes. After that, I was moved to learn more about the Church and her teachings. I pray more now and it made me realize that I have to work harder and pray more to achieve salvation (and less Purgatory time!). I enjoy running, reading, walking my dog, watching movies, hanging out with friends, eating good food! I love to laugh! There are many things in this life that you can find humor in. My latest passion is running. I ran my first 10K this year and just did my first half marathon in September! It was awesome. I also love to travel!

I had a great childhood growing up as the son of two elementary school teachers, in Baltimore, MD. My family is awesome, and I really appreciate that I live just an easy drive away from home. I'm definitely a fan of my hometown Ravens and Orioles. I've always enjoyed sports and I like being outdoors. I played all sorts of sports growing up, but I have been particularly fond of biking and skiing the last couple of years. I enjoy watching most sports too. Though I can be a little shy, I'm happy to laugh my way through life. I'm quick to see the humor in things and I enjoy telling funny stories. I also like observing and analyzing the world around me (I'm admittedly overly analytical at times). I like to think of myself as a practical idealist. Since college I've channeled many of my altruistic energies into volunteering at a nearby parish youth ministry program. I've built relationships with so many really great people through this experience, and I get a lot of joy from building community with the kids. I really enjoy the challenge of inspiring and encouraging young people to believe and pursue Gods great plans for them.

Born and raised in McLean, VA, a suburb of Washington, DC, to an eclectic and eccentric bunch that I'm proud to call my family, I love God, the Church, my family, my country, my state, my town, rugby, soccer, sailing, hiking, wine, cheese, languages, travel, good reads, good friends, and good conversation. I'm moving back to DC after a three-year absence during which I was doing development work in West Africa, and I couldn't be happier to back in the developed, Christian, Western world! After a few trysts with Catholic and not-so-Catholic girls that ended poorly due to irreconcilable differences in worldview, I'm looking for someone with whom I can share my happiness and exuberance about life and the future. I'm not saying I want to get married just now, but I want something solid upon which I can build, fully with the knowledge that marriage -- and children -- is on my horizon sometime in the not-too-distant future. P.S. Did I mention I'm ridiculously verbose? If I haven't yet, it'll definitely show in the following paragraphs. I apologize in advance if it feels like the essay portion of the SAT. In a masochistic way, I guess I kinda miss standardized testing. Since I always used to score really highly back then, I thought I might as well apply the same thinking here to obtain similar results ;)

Thank you for taking a look into my world... Let me start by Introducing myself. My name is Carsten; I was born and raised in Denmark. I came to the US in 1992 arriving in San Juan, Puerto Rico on July 4 on a sailboat I sailed from Denmark. I lived on St Thomas for about 3 years before moving to Washington DC. I have 2 GREAT kids (19 year old daughter and a 21 year old son) I talk to them ones a week, but text almost daily. They are the most important part of my pass. They are both in school in Europe. I am a very good cook and love to romance flowers. I'm a very easygoing person who hate drama. I have a healthy and positive outlook on life, my glass is always half full.

Plan to expound more later, but for starters... Catholic all the way; I teach middle school and I am in my 17th year of doing so. I currently teach religion, math, and literature. I travel, mostly domestic travel these days, but I would go to Europe in a heartbeat; family relationships are paramount. I have 13 beautiful nieces and nephews who all have a particular place in my heart. I am the youngest of four--well six really, Mom lost two babies. My dear Mumma was taken back to the Good Lord just over five years ago. She was my first and best friend. I still miss her very much. I now understand what those who have lost a loved one say- "you never stop missing them, but you learn to live in the new normal that is life without them here on this earth." I also take joy in the hope that she is Home with her Jesus, and in the thought of one day being there with them! I love my family and though we are scattered all about the country, we are just a prayer, a phone call, and a Facebook chat away.

Hello! I recently moved to the DC area from Texas! I'm tall, fun, and full of life! I love experiencing new things and taking risks! I love living outside my comfort zone and going on adventures! • Ian, 20 from McLean, VA

    20, McLean, VA
Hi, I'm Ian. I'm 20 and have one younger brother. After taking a post-high school gap year to earn some money and show I can hold a job (check!), I'm currently in full time college planning to major in government. I'm doing this because I want to find a way to serve my country and community after I graduate. So who am I? I am someone who thinks that the most important things in life are my faith, my family (the one I was born into and the one I hope to have someday), and love for others. I try to keep things in that order, but nobody's perfect, right? I'm a lifelong New Englander, but I was born in the Bavarian Alps when my parents were stationed there, and I love that part of the world. I'm a proud Eagle Scout and love doing things in the outdoors in any season. I also love movies and live performances, especially musicals and operas. My favorite restaurants are Asian. I love sushi and the hibachi show never gets old. Perhaps my favorite thing to do is to share my interests, and explore new ones, with people I care about. I enjoy talking about current events, history, and books, and I also like to learn about what other people care about. I also savor a good joke or riddle. The cornier the better! Oh yeah, I also love to dance, so it would be great if you want to close down the dance floor with me.

Still a Jersey girl at heart, I love to laugh and have fun. I have 2 daughters, two sons and three grandsons who play a major part in my life. Widowed over two years ago and will admit to being guardedly optimistic about the possibilities of this new stage in my life. My new mantras are Carpe Diem and Let Go and Let God. I am a cautious risk taker who likes to try new things but still finds comfort and security in routine. I enjoy my friends and family, adventures outside, dining out, discovering new cities, theatre, movies, and most sports. I'm a conservative who is able to think outside the box. Looking forward to soon enjoying retirement where I have no schedule, can travel, go to the beach, read, take classes, and basically do whatever I want to do. Curious to know if every guy who completes this questionnaire really exercises (I try 2-3 times a week), eats healthy all the time (I love Italian, and also ice cream and cookies) and is very romantic.
