65, Fairfax, VAWhat am I passionate about? Actually, lots of different parts of my life. I love travel, wine, music, and am excited to be learning swing dancing. I stay as active as I can - dancing, working out at my gym, attending Zumba classes, and walking. I am looking for someone that is fit, and takes time to stay fit. Eating healthy, regular exercise, and maintaining a healthy weight is a big deal to me. My family is very important. I have 2 daughters that live in different parts of the country, but I do try to see them as much as I can in. Travel is a big part of my life. I lived in Europe for many years working for the Government, and now try to travel as much as I can. I try to take at least one international trip a year to somewhere I haven't been. This year was Greece. I fit in a couple other trips each year, usually in the Winter to somewhere warm. Hawaii is a favorite of mine right now! I love live theater, and attend as often as I can. I also enjoy opera and movies. My religion is also an important part of my life. I attend church regularly.
35, Arlington, VAMoved to DC from SC. Work in international business, like to stay in shape and work on my investments, have a master's degree, love my family, and treat others well. Don't take things too seriously, know the difference between your and you're, and don't think chivalry is dead. Things I cant live without: Windshield Wipers. I think balance in life is important ... like to stay active, work out, work on my investments, stay in touch with family, go out, stay in, travel, weekend trips, sports, movies, afternoons walking around. I played sports in college and like an athletic girl, but it's definitely not a deal breaker
71, Fredericksburg, VAI am not quite comfortable talking about myself but will do my best. I am originally from New York but have lived in Virginia at least half my life. Love the scenery, the people and lots to do. I am a very upbeat person, love to laugh, meet new people and try new things. Need someone who can keep up with me as I love to be on the go. I love to be outdoors riding my bike, walking and gardening. I have a wonderful family, four fine sons who are all decent and honorable men. I have my family, my faith and my friends so I consider myself very fortunate. I would like to meet someone who enjoys adventure and meeting new people. I have been described as a loyal friend, have a good sense of humor, very bubbly and try to be kind and respectful to all those I meet. Hoping to meet someone between the ages of 60 and 72 with a good heart, great sense of humor, likes to travel and try new things.
53, Falls Church, VA"A woman's heart should be so lost in God, that a man has to search for Him, in order to find her." I love this quote from a girl's profile on here, and decided to use it. I've been told that I'm a good listener, and I believe that listening is one of my greatest skills in life. I'm particularly drawn to women that are very expressive, have a funny thought and share it, rather than keeping it to themselves. Good conversation over iced coffee... one of life's simple pleasures, and one of my favorites. I'm also attracted to a woman who is comfortable with the informal... meeting for coffee in her sweats, if need be, okay with me getting into a fight throwing wrapping paper at her younger sibling, who started it anyway. I'm certainly open to expensive outings also; however, I want a woman who is comfortable with the informal. I enjoy working with the youth - I've volunteered as a CCD teacher at a local church. I like to make up games and skits that will keep the teens' attention and help to instill the faith. I enjoy the simplicity, spontaneity and energy of the youth. I'm learning to be a musician and am in the process of writing several Christian songs. I find that some of the Christian music is not what it could be. I find music to be addictive, and the more I learn about creating it, the more I like it. I started taking improv classes about 7 years ago, in an effort to become more risk taking, after a friend of mine had recommended it. One friend likened me to Scooby Doo, since she said that I can be very playful, but I have a deeper side as well. All in all, I like to think of myself as a risk taking artist who is serious about his faith. I am blessed to enjoy an Irish heritage that has provided, among other things, good health, and as my photos will hopefully attest, a youthful appearance of about 10 years younger than my age. Since I am committed to having children, if God calls me to marriage, I maintain the diet and live the lifestyle that will allow me to do this. I'm a proud member of Planet Fitness and use my LifeFitness elliptical regularly.
52, McLean, VAI just want to share my life again with someone. If you like long walks along the Potomac, jogging, some light biking, or just talking about current events, maybe I'm someone you would spend some time with?
44, Round Hill, VAMy friends have described me as friendly, loving, trusting, giving and supportive. I can also be compassionate, thoughtful, patient, honest, respectful and loyal to everyone in my life. I have 3 wonderful kids that live me. I also have two loving dogs. I enjoy spending time with family and friends and love to laugh. I appreciate and enjoy the little things in life. I am also very laid back and easy going. I am extremely affectionate and believe that communication is very important.
26, Arlington, VAFrom the Midwest by way of the Northwest. Writing is one of my biggest passions, and I am thankful to have a career that incorporates it into my work daily. When I am not working, I am always looking for my next adventure. I love to travel, even if it just means going on a long walk in a different part of my own city.
23, Springfield, VAGod and my family are two of the most important things in my life. I've attended several retreats, I go to Mass every Sunday, and frequently volunteer at my parish and in my community. The last retreat I went on was a silent Lenten weekend retreat out in West Virginia - it was a beautiful and peaceful experience! I love spending time with my family, whether we're riding roller coasters at Busch Gardens, playing music together (I've played the violin since I was six), watching a movie in the evening, playing card games (I've been taking a stab at learning Bridge), or just hanging out and talking. Since graduating from college dining halls, I've found a love for cooking. One of my sisters (I'm the oldest of four girls) gave me a southern Italian cookbook for Christmas and I've been enjoying making (and modifying) the recipes. My favorites so far are a pizza made from scratch and a chocolate malt pie. I love reading and writing. I mostly read fiction (especially Shakespeare plays); I also enjoy (auto)biographies. I write fiction and poetry, and one of my goals is to publish a novel. I graduated from Northern Virginia Community College with an Associates of Science degree in Electrical Engineering (EE), then transferred to the University of Virginia (UVA) to complete my B.S. degree in EE. At UVA, I was active in the Catholic Student Ministry, and joined one of the scripture study groups. I also participated in the Shakespeare theater group. I'm not an actress, so I helped with the sound effects - playing the rain drum in King Lear. Recently, in my free time (I have a full time job in my field), I spend time with my family and am active in young adult events with the Arlington Diocese.
23, Arlington, VAI'm originally from Vancouver, Canada (so exotic, I know), but I went to college at Notre Dame and work in Washington, DC. At Notre Dame I studied my passions: political science and theology. I'm intensely passionate about my faith and about trying to make the world a better place - right now I'm trying to figure out how, given my values, I might help elevate the lives of others. I'm also a big fan of travelling and getting to know other cultures - language learning is actually a pretty big hobby of mine, and over the years I've learned French and now have moved onto Italian. There's a quote from Into the Wild that I think captures a lot of my guiding philosophy: "The very basic core of a man's living spirit is his passion for adventure. The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun." I think that there's so much beauty and richness out there in life, just ripe for the taking, and I want to seize it. But more than that, I want to give it away: I want to share all of the joy, and beauty, and richness of life with everyone with whom I cross paths.
78, Montclair, VABefore retiring I worked for the U.S. Department of Education in Washington and earlier taught social studies in high schools administered by the Catholic Diocese of Buffalo, N.Y. During my retirement I have been doing a good deal of gardening, travel, and volunteer work at senior citizen facilities. I also enjoy reading (particularly religious, historical, and gardening literature as well as newspapers and news magazines), dining out, going to concerts, movies, and the theater, and watching the news, sports, and history-related programs on TV. My wife of forty years was the most influential person in my life. Since she passed away two years ago, I have become more involved in organizations at my parish church. I have one daughter and see her and her family on a regular basis. I am in excellent health and lead an active lifestyle.
54, Verona, VAPut others before yourself. - I tell my kids to consider, "Your opinion is not the most important one in the room - Listen." This is something I strive for daily. Other things I find myself saying frequently: Be yourself. Life is far too short for over thinking. Be a nice human. Give. Be kind. There but for the grace of God go I. Stand your ground. What is popular isn't always right - what's right isn't always popular. I want to find that *one* man. I'm not looking to "hook up" and I'm not adverse to dating - it's how we get to know each other, but ultimately, I'm looking for another soul mate, I've been widowed for 13 years - I think its time ;) I am very loyal and devoted with the right man. My interests are eclectic, outdoors, crafts (basket making, hand spinning alpaca yarns from my small herd) cooking, gardening, GOOD conversation, shooting, hiking, wine tasting, cuddling under the stars or by the fire, and absolutely anything to do with the ocean no matter the time of year. I love to laugh, laughter is essential, having a great sense of humor is how we get through life. Have you ever considered that God has a sick sense of humor? I laugh daily at the follies of our humanity. I'm very spiritual and my religion keeps me centered. I'm also very to the point, you'll always know my thoughts, no games, no drama - no time for any of that. Being considerate of other's thoughts, feelings and views is important to me, I have my own opinions but that doesn't mean I'm always right ;). Friends discribe me as honest, generous, thoughtful, loyal, dependable, capable, and determined. I have been blessed beyond measure and believe in giving back. I try hard to "be a nice human". If you're part of my circle you won't go hungry. I know my way around the kitchen - or the grill - if I like you, I feed you. If you're coming for dinner, come hungry! If you had told me 15 years ago that I would be using a computer to create a meaningful connection with another person I would have looked askance and laughed. Yet here I am - (here we are). Send me an email, I'll respond ;) Best of luck in your search for connection and real human contact in this disconnected world! Blessings, Kathy
50, Portsmouth, VAHi, my name Tim!!! I grew up in NE and have been a Catholic since day one. I have three beautiful daughters ages 13, 10, and 7. I am in there lives constantly. I am their spiritual and religious leader in their lives. I have been divorced for several years now. I work in the finance industry and have all my life(25 yrs). I'm looking for a very compatible lady to spend time with and perhaps more as we get to now one another. I go to Mass weekly and just love the feeling you get when you know the Highest Power is in control of our lives. I have been married in the Church once and married once outside the Church. I both instances, there was a definite lack of religious beliefs between the two of us. So, being in tune with the Catholic faith is important to me. Not that I am religious or what you may call it. But, I must have a partner who feels or believe that it is important to have a Catholic faith. If you want to know more, just ask!!!
