I am a Coastie's daughter born in Alaska but grew up in Newport News. I have a wide range of interests. I enjoy watching sci-fi & action movies, watching football games, listening to country music, going to rock concerts & going to Broadway plays. I love to sew & cook and I practice hot yoga. I have two boy cats named Chewbacca and Boba Fett. I grew up in a big family: five brothers! I love being an aunt to my nephew & two nieces. My closest friends are ones that have been in my life the longest and are like sisters to me. The three things in life that are most important to me are my family, my faith, and my friends.

How many of you on here, if pressed to tell the truth, would admit that you are tired of this whole dating stuff? We all like to do things, whether it is walking on the beach, watching a sunset or whitewater rafting. It does not matter one bit what you like if you don't have that special someone in your life to enjoy it with you. I am not looking to get married right this minute, but I would love to find that special someone who can ignite that spark in my heart again. After 59 years of living on this earth, I can honestly say that if I had to decide today what would be the most important thing in my life, it would be having someone to share life with and know you like no one else does. I have made some mistakes in my life. Obviously, we have all made some mistakes, or we would not be on here looking again. If you have learned from those mistakes and are open to letting your heart lead you in a relationship and would consider marriage with the right man, feel free to contact me. To all you southern ladies out there, my Mom taught me to be a gentleman at all times. I made straight A's in that class, lol. Please expect me to hold a door for you, to wait for you to be seated, to always allow you to walk in before me and to always be kind.

  • Lawrence, 76 from Portsmouth, VA

I am passionate about doing, being, and becoming that destiny God chose for me. This passion came into focus over 25 years ago when I left what I call the "rat race" of greed and materialism and devoted my life to discovering what my role would be: "To do what I could do to help the most people." At that point and as a man of science, my gut was telling me that my role would have to go much deeper than just science. I would have to enter the depths of my soul, searching to find these answers. I knew I could find some good answers. I could feel it coming from depths of my body, my soul and my spirit. And they came, answers to questions I perceived God was asking me to consider namely: 1. Who are we? 2. Where are we now? 3. Where have we been? 4. Where are we going? By searching and researching with meditation and prayer answers began to emerge and converge. This revelation unfolded as an integration. The integration of science and soul evolving as a unity of the two and becoming a non-dual spiritual union focused on working together with God. It became clear to me that we needed to become more involved in seeking wholeness and healing not only personally but together with others. My personal transformation began in my mid thirties as I began reading scripture as a lector and then in depth using the Jerusalem Bible as my guide. As a scientist my hero was Albert Einstein. But the real fire in my belly was ignited as I began to read the works of the Jesuit Pierre Teilhard de Chardin. In concert with this effort the work of Carl Jung the noted depth psychologist played an important role. But the major influence in my work was a deep desire to more fully understand the mission and role of Christ Jesus. The seeds having been planted, by my late forties, growth and fruitful ideas began to emerge . I began to travel, interact and share the results with those who might listen or resonate with them. Writings in journals, stories, prose, poetry, and a multitude of research reports began to find their way on the internet. The essential message of my work is unity a unity based on a deeper understanding of the Archetypal Christ. Today, I am moved everytime I hear Pope Francis speak because the base of his message in my opinion is unity. Yes, I am a serious person with a serious mission. But I deeply love people and enjoy their company as well. I celebrate the reality of Christmas everyday. Looking for that special someone to share my joy!

  • Tim, 50 from Portsmouth, VA

Hi, my name Tim!!! I grew up in NE and have been a Catholic since day one. I have three beautiful daughters ages 13, 10, and 7. I am in there lives constantly. I am their spiritual and religious leader in their lives. I have been divorced for several years now. I work in the finance industry and have all my life(25 yrs). I'm looking for a very compatible lady to spend time with and perhaps more as we get to now one another. I go to Mass weekly and just love the feeling you get when you know the Highest Power is in control of our lives. I have been married in the Church once and married once outside the Church. I both instances, there was a definite lack of religious beliefs between the two of us. So, being in tune with the Catholic faith is important to me. Not that I am religious or what you may call it. But, I must have a partner who feels or believe that it is important to have a Catholic faith. If you want to know more, just ask!!!

I won't tell you that I like having fun, traveling, and walks on the beach. Here is a little about me. I'm single, 47, with no children, 2 cats and one dog, who is looking for a long term relationship/ marriage. My job sometimes requires me to work unusual hours, so I'm looking for someone who doesn't mind being in a relationship with someone who does work these hours. You've probably read lots of similar responses that really tell you nothing about the person. Instead, I will give you a glimpse into one of the most unusual people you will ever meet. If you spend the next minute reading this post, you will see that I am not right for everyone, but I may be a great match for you. My quest to find a great match has been harder than I ever imagined! I can make you smile because everyone likes me, and you will, too! You are about to meet someone who wants a partner who has as much to offer as I do. Do you want to meet someone who is passionate about life? My friend's say that I am what every woman wants. If there is one thing you should know about me, it is that I am just an average person looking for the same. I firmly believe that life is meant to be enjoyed. My life motto is: family first. Everything else will fall in place. Physically, I think my best feature is my voice. Mentally, I think my best attribute is my dedication. I know that I am not perfect, but I'm hoping to find someone who thinks that I am. If I wanted to impress you, I would make dinner for you. If I were to compose a list of the top ten reasons to date me, one of them would surely be that I am smarter than the average bear. My job is stressful and demanding. On my days off, my first priority is usually spending time with my family. My biggest fault is that I sometimes work too much. My approach to life has been primarily influenced by my family. I am generally happiest when I am with my family. In my opinion, the best thing about a long-term relationship is not having to worry about finding a date for Saturday night. You've probably seen the responses of many other appealing people, and you may wonder, "With so many to choose from, how can I decide?" Let me help you with that one.
