37, Centreville, VAOn weekdays I create software, on the weekends I'm usually playing frisbee, playing board games with friends, or once or twice a month I'm playing trumpet for the military (VA National Guard band). I'm rather laid back. I would rather go out hiking, biking, or running than go to a gym. I'd rather go out to a restaurant or a concert than go to a bar or club. I'm just as happy watching movies in comfort at home as I am seeing a movie in the theater. I enjoy life, and don't let little things upset me.
29, Arlington, VAI love to laugh. I don't think I ever let a day go by without laughing and I try to infuse humor into almost every situation. The best and corniest joke I've heard recently: "What was the first expletive Moses said when he came down Mt. Sinai with the Ten Commandments?"..."Holy Cow!" My passion is teaching theology. I love love love discussing theology with my students, colleagues, friends and if I'm feeling especially extroverted, even strangers. Although, I am pretty shy in person, I'm an easy nut to crack and once I feel comfortable I open up quickly. I tend toward being very observant, not Sherlock Holmes but ask me what I see and hear. You'd be surprised what I notice. My students are constantly amazed by my powers of hearing when they're whispering things to comrades. I devour books and movies pretty voraciously and when I go to the movie theater I have to be there for the previews. Its part of the experience (and one of the things that I bonded with my brother over). There's just something about walking into that theater and watching the lights go down...I'm a sucker for suspense, thrillers and mysteries. Right now, Greg Iles and Gillian Flynn are my go to authors. I also have the most adorable dog, Shorty. A friend recently described him as a dog with the "nose of a pig and the hide of a cow." I think she meant it as a compliment. For most of the year, I'm able to bike with Shorty on a stretch of the W&OD trail near my apartment. Hanging out with friends generally includes food (home-cooked meal or dining out), swing dancing at Glen Echo Park, Adoration at one of DC's many parishes and taking advantage of some of the great opportunities that DC provides. The activity is always secondary to the company. Sometimes, the most pleasurable experience is just to sit next to someone in the silence and take in the beauty around or get lost in a book.
30, Arlington, VAI am Carlos and this is my first online Experience. I decided to give CM a try to find people who share similar values and faith than me. Faith is very important for me and it is a key Part of my life. I am very close to my family, like to have quality time with friends, volunteer with the church and being active. I enjoy the outdoors, a good hiking or biking trip, soccer , baseball, read a good book and try new restaurants in the area. I am still working to finish my profile!
42, Arlington, VAI am a let's get on a train/plane and see where it takes us kind of person. I really enjoy traveling and experiencing new adventures, like the train trip I took this past Fall through the Colorado Rockies, which ended with an unplanned but amazing whitewater rafting trip down the Colorado River. "Changes in latitude, changes in attitude" as they say. I also enjoy going to/watching college and professional sports, especially football, baseball, hockey and college basketball. The atmosphere at these games can be electric. I am also an avid runner and just completed my third Marathon this past November, in New York. People have told me you haven't seen New York until you have run it, and that was the truth! Finally, I'm a huge music fan (country in particular) and will almost never miss an opportunity to go out and hear a good band.
28, Manassas, VAI am the second oldest of nine and although it's hectic, family is very important. After these two things, I am a cradle Catholic, I love sports, music, drawing, hanging out with friends, and hunting/shooting/archery. Anything sporting or outdoors grabs my attention instantly. I played basketball, and baseball, and varsity lacrosse, soccer and golf in high school and then soccer in college. I'm not big on night clubs or dancing. I can go along with either on occasion, however, bars/restaurants or just hanging out are more my thing. In my life, I would have to say that my parents have been my biggest and best influence. Currently I am working in the construction field as a quality control manager-in-training. It is a fun and interesting job but I am not sure that it is what I want to do for good. When I am not working I enjoy hanging out at home with my family or going to the local bar with friends and watching football or hockey (any sport really) or getting out in the woods to hunt, hike, camp, or shoot. Call and ask me to come play a sport and I'll come running. I also love to draw, although as of late I haven't been drawing as much as I would like. Unfortunately, in college, I did pick up the terrible habit of smoking but I am currently trying to quit. Message me and ask about anything else.
61, Fairfax Station, VAI am a widow who has healed...mostly. I have two wonderful children who are vey successful and grown. I still talk to them both on most days. I have always had a very strong faith until my wife got seriously sick. My faith was shaken but not destroyed. I would say I am in the challenging phase. I am at the point in y life where I am at least thinking about retirement. I know in order to be successful in that goal I will need a playmate, I am funny, secure and a good catch I think.

23, Springfield, VAGod and my family are two of the most important things in my life. I've attended several retreats, I go to Mass every Sunday, and frequently volunteer at my parish and in my community. The last retreat I went on was a silent Lenten weekend retreat out in West Virginia - it was a beautiful and peaceful experience! I love spending time with my family, whether we're riding roller coasters at Busch Gardens, playing music together (I've played the violin since I was six), watching a movie in the evening, playing card games (I've been taking a stab at learning Bridge), or just hanging out and talking. Since graduating from college dining halls, I've found a love for cooking. One of my sisters (I'm the oldest of four girls) gave me a southern Italian cookbook for Christmas and I've been enjoying making (and modifying) the recipes. My favorites so far are a pizza made from scratch and a chocolate malt pie. I love reading and writing. I mostly read fiction (especially Shakespeare plays); I also enjoy (auto)biographies. I write fiction and poetry, and one of my goals is to publish a novel. I graduated from Northern Virginia Community College with an Associates of Science degree in Electrical Engineering (EE), then transferred to the University of Virginia (UVA) to complete my B.S. degree in EE. At UVA, I was active in the Catholic Student Ministry, and joined one of the scripture study groups. I also participated in the Shakespeare theater group. I'm not an actress, so I helped with the sound effects - playing the rain drum in King Lear. Recently, in my free time (I have a full time job in my field), I spend time with my family and am active in young adult events with the Arlington Diocese.
