38, Charles Town, WVI am a friendly, honest and caring person, who is always there when I'm needed. I have two Bachelors of Arts in Marketing and Management. Career wise I never settle for less, I'm always looking for ways to move up the ladder . I enjoy to travel to various parts of the world. Other things I enjoy to do are outdoor activities, sports, go to the movies, candlelight dinners, walk on the beach, going to the gym, ice skating and staying at home watching any sitcom. Religion, family and friends are really important to me. I go to mass every Sunday and on Wenesday's I attend Liturgy. I have discoved that religion is not only one hour on Sunday mornings but its every minute of my life.
64, Wheeling, WVI'm a divorced father of six and grandfather of five. I've been married twice and have been on my own for quite a few years. I was a Roman Catholic seminarian in my high school years and have always treasured the staunch Jesuit education I received. Now, at 64 (soon), i find myself back in the seminary (Holy Apostles in CT) pursing another (my 4th) Masters in Theology. I teach Basic and Intermediate Greek at Holy Apostles and tutor several high school students in various subjects. My full time position with the VA ended with my stroke. Prior to that I spent 2 years at Johns Hopkins developing a Health Info Curriculum for national dissemination. I believe in lifelong learning and have spent much of my life doing just that. I need to be very honest here- and I'm VERY sorry if I scare you off...I suffered a major stroke 13 years ago and a stroke and heart attack four years ago, and have little feeling on my left. I walk well with a cane. I sound like I'm describing a pet here - don't I? Well I do play well with others and am reasonably well behaved. Oh - and I'm up-to-date with my shots! Seriously, I'm forever on the mend and hoping to find a woman who can forsake dancing (at least with me) and extreme sports. I'm more in the way of gentle walking and gardening. By the way, I love gardening - had (20+ raised beds and a small greenhouse till the styroke), baking bread, canning, and sharing life and love with you... My dog (and best friend) Rasheed died of cancer on June 15 7 years ago, leaving a real void in my life. I rented a cottage on 1 1/2 acres in Middletown, MD. and now live in a beautiful apartment in Wheeling WV near my daughters., As I said, I'm an avid gardener, a voracious reader, and a faithful partner for an intelligent, loving, and faithful woman. Despite my health issues - like the Energizer bunny, just keep on going...I am committed to truth, sincerity, and personal authenticity and am seeking a friend and, hopefully, life mate who feels the same. I would love to have a friend to talk to and share life with...
58, Charles Town, WVI am a special education teacher. I belong to St. James Parish in Charles Town WV. I have been widowed for 9 years. My 2 kids are grown, but live at home. One is in college, one a special needs adult. I've lived in Jefferson County for 7 years now, but haven't met anyone. ...I guess I should update this, as I dashed it off rather quickly. I am much more interesting in person, but I will try to write a better narrative. Many things have kept me busy during the past few years-- raising two teens alone, working full-time while attending grad school part-time, caring for my parents close by. The kids are now grown up. I recently completed my Masters degree. My mother passed away last month. Many challenges and changes. These things have kept me busy. I am firmly committed to living a good Catholic life. I talk the talk and walk the walk. I belong to a Catholic family and we have all remained true to Our Lord and His Holy Church. I have many interests. I was a music major in college and have kept that as a strong avocation. I enjoy cooking, cleaning, gardening and organizing... but I'd much rather be out of the house, visiting parks and museums and exploring new places. I like daytrips, especially in Virginia, Maryland and DC. Although I live in West Va now, I have lived most of my life in Virginia and Vermont. I read a lot, especially about history (I try not to be an egg head!). I am a good conversationalist. What else??? I don't really like writing "I" stories about myself, so I guess you would have to find out for yourself. I'm not planning to take a "temperament test" or "scrapbook" because my friends have to get to know me.
57, Bunker Hill, WVI grew up with 4 sisters and 1 brother, and my mom and dad were together for 60 years. My mom is 92, and I care for her at her home.. I work at a local high school teaching math, and part time at 7-11. What leisure time I do have is spent golfing, dancing, or just singing in a band. It's a start of one, so we're still in the starting stages.
48, Fairmont, WVHow real, how truly present God is in the smallest details of my daily experience inspires me.... My passion is more a privilege - to be allowed to join with clients in their hurt places - to connect with them in the sacred ground of their (I believe) soul - and with the grace of God walk through healing, true conversion. Towering trees, rustling wind, dappled sunlight, swirling leaves, the smell of rain, the hush of new-fallen snow, the night sky littered with stars... I remain in awe of the majesty of creation. I most enjoy being stimulated - to feel more alive physically, sensorily, emotionally, spiritually. Often this includes connecting with others in a very real, genuine, and meaningful way. So excited, intrigued by the mystery of God's plan unfolding for me...how He is leading me to love, serve anew, and be loved.... TAKE. II: To be honest, I "enlisted" in this service in a late- night fog, in a frustrated reaction to my "Nona" telling me I can't buy my dream "farm" and build a house w/o a man..... Truth is, it's time for change. Realized from reading your profiles, I haven't done a very good job creating a "snapshot" of who I am, "where" I am, and why I'm really "here...." Thank you, fellas for being such good teachers. Who? Nurturer - as clinical social worker pour out love on clients, friends, neighbors, strangers.... Love children, considered foster parenting and adoption - kinda' like the idea of meeting a man w/kids. Enjoys? Though opportunity has been limited, whitewater rafting and ballet are two of my favorite things to do. Love and appreciate interior design, architecture art, music (all genres, but - sorry- country), and theater. Get a thrill from a chainsaw splitting wood and driving fast or preparing an elegant dinner for family and friends. Content watching a movie, football, or rolling clouds.... Prayer, exercise, nutrition, spending time outdoors daily are essentials for me. "Where?" Emerging from my time "in the desert" following the loss of my husband. Selling our home, searching for my dream property, seeking new career challenges, and feeling God is calling me to serve in a somehow different way - all sharpen my awareness of the need for change, challenges to fuel continued growth. And, truly, I am free to go anywhere God leads me.
