I'm passionate about life. I'm happy and my life is full so I would like to share it with someone who is happy and secure as well. I am romantic and affectionate and I believe in love. I'm intelligent and enjoy an in depth conversation. I think talking flows naturally between two people who care deeply for each other. I love wine tasting, long walks in the woods, cultural events, concerts and plays and Christmas. I would like to pursue some new interests: golf, guitar, salsa dancing and travel. I am interested in politics, world events and economics and global development issues. I would also like to help people in my own community.

I am a mother working as a fulltime nurse. I enjoy my solitude as well as meeting faith friends for coffee or to share a meal. Before becoming a mother I had the opportunity to travel to many countries. These experiences inform my faith and nursing practice. As a younger woman I enjoyed sailing and skiing. As time permits I hope to return to these activities..esp. sailing. I enjoy swimming and cycling watching films and reading books about our faith. Prior to becoming a mother, I lived and worked as an artist. I have worked in finishing and restoration and from time to time restore religious artworks. I enjoy cooking ..esp for others.

Born and raised on Vancouver Island, I'm a small town girl with a passion for teaching, my family, and enjoying the world around me. Raised in a Catholic home by parents who were passionate social workers and social advocates, I must confess that I tend to wear my heart on my sleeve, which tends to serve me well within my professional calling as a learning support and classroom teacher. I love my job and enjoy finding new an exciting things to do with my students - I do not shy away from adventures (caving during a Science class, studying local traditional medicinal plants in Social Studies, and learning to use a kiln in Visual Arts are all things I have "dived into" with my students with no prior experience!) I have been known to bring my own passions and desire to learn new things into my classroom ... Outside of my working hours, I try to enjoy the world around me and what it has to offer. On any given weekend I might go on a walk or hike with friends, curl up in front of the tv and catch a movie, or play tourist in my own town. When the weather is nice, I enjoy camping. I love to sing and, while I don't do it nearly enough anymore, also play piano. I am passionate about the performing arts and love to catch concerts and plays when opportunity arises.

I am a classical singer. This takes up copious amounts of my spare time. And I love every minute of it. I am a bookworm. Let me say that again. I am a bookworm. There are entire worlds within the covers of a book and I go explore when I can. I spend as much time with my friends as possible. I enjoy being outside, not specifically playing a sport 'cause they generally require hand-eye coordination and I have none. Believe me, I have tried enough different things to know it's not the specific activity.

I am passionate about life and the right to it for all, unborn and the fragile elderly. I look forward to the coming of "The King" and the infallibility of Judgement Day when all things will be set right and this broken world will be no more. I look forward to seeing my King in person. An elderly priest that has just passed away has taught me the meaning of having a humble and teachable heart, the meaning of true humility, of having a servant's heart and that no matter what happens, God is the ruler yet. Life has not been especially easy for me and we all have our stories to tell and these experiences are what make us who we are. We are not here to command and demand from God, we are here to build and develop our characters into those deserving of spending the rest of eternity with Him in the Paradise He has waiting for us. I'm very domestic, sewing cooking, needlework, gardening are all things I enjoy. I also enjoy cycling and hiking.

Favourite scripture passage: In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came into being through him, and without him not one thing came into being. What has come into being in him was life, and the life was the light of all people. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not overcome it.

After years of seeking I converted to the catholic faith about 5 years ago and strive to grow in my spiritual life; continually learning and growing in my faith. I've been single for several years but desire a partner who is like-minded to share life with. I've enjoyed a rewarding career in nursing and a healthcare management in Saskatchewan; and recently retired in Victoria. I love all that Vancouver Island has to offer! I don't have children but have strong family values. I have moved a lot in my career and look forward to retirement that includes a balance of home and family life, travel, community and parish involvement. Blessings to all that read this.

You learn to speak by speaking, to study by studying, to run by running, to work by working, and just so, you learn to love by loving. All those who think to learn in any other way deceive themselves. -St. Francis de Sales I am a quiet, playful, woman who strives to live in a gracious, generous, giving way. I enjoy deep conversation, especially with effusive philosophical types, classical music, including Palestrina and Chopin, backpacking in the woods along the gorgeous West Coast, reading and rereading Jane Austin novels, and giggling at the hilarious antics of my seven nephews. I am blessed to be the mommy of a rambunctious six-year-old. It's such a thrill to experience life alongside a little boy... every puddle has the potential for an afternoon of muddy fun (the messier the better!) and there is no such thing as too many cookies. Balancing life as a single mom certainly has some challenges, but I love being a mother. I hope that God has a larger family planned for me one day. One of my dreams is to own a little acreage; a place to grow organic food, raise a caboodle of boisterous children, read great literature, think deeply, converse honestly, absorb as many sunsets as possible, and embrace a lifestyle steeped in Catholic culture. I am seeking adventure, commitment, sacrificial love, profound joy and a shared existence which is teaming with life, demanding, and richly rewarding.

When I started working on my social work degree in my forties, it felt like such a good fit and though the work has been challenging I have had a passion for it . I must admit I've become a bit more cynical about systems (apparently social work years are like dog years, 1 = 7). Family is very important to me, we make time for each other, share each others joys and challenges, support one another while respecting independence. Mass has become more important to me over the years. Praying, asking God questions and trying to listen to his plans for me, - all important aspects of my daily life. I think my husband was very influential in my life. He encouraged me to pursue a career when I didn't believe I had the parts to do it. My four children, who stretched me to the limit, showed me how to think beyond myself, taught me patience, endurance and stretched my heart giving me capacity for greater love. Leisure time? I've had some of the best times in my life snorkelling in warm waters, I enjoy traveling, walking my dogs in beautiful surroundings, I love working with my hands in my spare time, sewing, quilting, paper crafts, working on improving my home, gardening, I'm an avid reader. I enjoy activities with friends and family, walks, movies, dining in or trying a different restaurant now and again. I look forward to planning vacations, for myself, family, foster parents, co-workers - that is fun. I'm a bit of an expert on Disney Parks and Cruises and must confess I have a soft spot in my heart for The Mouse.

I am not very good at this or at least I assume I'm not, but have never tried it before. Here are some things about me. I am the middle of 5 children with 3 brothers-in-law. I have 12 nieces and nephews each of whom I love to bits. I love taking them out on adventures usually to the beach, for a hike, or just out for ice cream, but once it turned into a 2 week road trip through Nevada in July with no air conditioning! My family is very close, often quite loud and strangely polite when eating dinner together. I went to Catholic school until the end of grade 3. After that we were home schooled because the Catholic content in the schools was rather questionable. I liked being home schooled. The only thing I think I missed out on were lab dissections in biology. Ironically I went to university and became a teacher and now work in the Catholic school system in Victoria. I love my current job. Working with kids is something I have done since I was old enough to be helpful. (This is possibly to make up for the times I dumped my little sister and brother out of their cribs while bouncing them by kicking the board under the mattress. I was 3.) When I haven't been working in schools I work as a guide. Mainly guiding in caves in B.C. and Alberta, but have also done some short lake canoeing and easy family oriented hikes.

Born and raised in Victoria, I am 37 years old and love life! I was raised Catholic and my Faith is important to me. I attended Catholic Schools as a child and work in one now, as a teacher. My passions include: teaching, my family, friends music and a good book! I work in the role of learning support and my daily joy is seeing my students who struggle gain confidence and success in their academics and socially. I love spending time with my family and friends. I am shy but love to be with people - just takes a while to open up! I've become more active as I have started putting my health first - losing weight and getting out walking and enjoying nature. I want to return to playing soccer and basketball - two sports I loved as a child!! I'm involved in my church community - on parish council, children's liturgy and helping out at social events. That's enough for now! Hope to chat [?]
