I find some volnteer work is so rewarding since my husband died 8 years ago in October. For 5 years I started and ran "Good Grief" in my parish of All Hallows in La Jolla. I enjoy bridge, giving and going to dinner parties, going to plays, out to dinner, local happy hours, taking a cruise and a book club. Have lived in quite a few locations during my life because of job opportunities for my father and my husband- was born in Pascagoula,MS, lived in New Jersey, Palos Verdes,CA, Saratoga, CA, Lake Forest,Ill, La Jolla, CA. Hated to leave each one, but Southern Ca has its benefits. Have two married children son, wife and two granchildren in South Lake,TX- daughter, husband and three grandchildren in California,MD close to Solomons Island. Sure wish we all lived close.

Hello and thanks for checking out my profile! I enjoy playing sports, hiking, camping, or pretty much trying out anything adventurous! (as long as it doesn't involve jumping out of an airplane or bungee jumping, yikes!) I also appreciate having time to hang out around the house to watch movies, cook, play board games, and spend time with friends and family. Although I am not a very good runner, I hope to train for a half marathon someday soon. I love to travel and visit historical places and go on pilgrimages. Some of my favorite pilgrimages have been to Lourdes, Fatima, Assisi, and Rome. I hope to visit the Holy Land sometime in the next year or two! I grew up visiting National Parks all over the United States and I enjoy getting away from my busy life by going camping and hiking in those parks. Growing up helping my mom take care of rental homes and watching my dad build cabinets as a second job; I witnessed that by having the will to learn and a lot of hard work, you can take on pretty much any project you put your heart into. By their example, I believe my parents instilled that work ethic in me. After teaching in the public schools for a number of years, I decided to start my own preschool and I love getting to work with little kids everyday. They constantly show me unconditional love and how to find joy in the littlest of things. They also give me lots of practice with patience, which God willing, will help me with my own kids one day. In my family, I am the youngest of three kids. My brother and sister are both married and I am the proud aunt to eight nieces and nephews. Although I am far from perfect in living out my faith, I try to surround myself with family and friends who encourage me to so.
