Originally from the east coast, born and raised in Philly... Moved around a bit and have lived in San Francisco for the last 11 years, moved back to the East Coast for 5 years - NYC & Philly and now I am back in the Bay Area. I love Great Food, Dining and Cooking and equally as much I really enjoy Eating. You could say that I am a typical 'Foodie' & even go as far to say that I am 'food-obsessed'... So much so that in my free time, I like to write about my favorite dining experiences and food in general. I go by the name Urban Food Maven... You can find me there bc I'm not officially on here... I have a very healthy appetite in many respects, especially for the Passions in my life... namely Food, Dance, My Family and Travel...Besides my Love of Food, I Love to Dance Salsa. I also love to Travel and am certified in scuba diving. I am a free, independent, open-minded and passionate & social being who just wants to enjoy life for what I can make out of it. I am Straightforward... and Passion and Honesty are BIG for me. Also, I am very Family-oriented and it is important to me that you are too... I DO take the bull by its proverbial horns and personally believe that it is up to you to make things happen... I do not believe in regret or in that cop out of a phrase 'I'm bored'... I am bold and unabashed and a sucker for a great Smile... So there you have it... Take me or leave me.

Hi there! I am a fashion design student in SF. Before that, I was in the military which was what brought me here to California. Day hikes, road biking, sailing, and golf are some of the ways I like to stay active. Some of my favorite bay area events are: Fashion Shows, the Chocolate Festival, Beaujolais Festival, the Wild and Scenic Film Festival, the Alameda Vintage Market, and the Hardly Strictly Blue Grass festival. What are some of yours?

From the Bay Area, studied at UC Berkeley and received my BA (philosophy), and went on for further graduate studies in Italy. I am currently living in Oakland and working as a front-end developer for a web-firm. When not working, I spend my time reading (mostly classics [Chaucer, Dickens, Austen, Trollope, Dostoyevsky] and sci-fi or fantasy fiction - my current favorite series being the Kingkiller Chronicle by Rothfuss), watching stupid and addictive TV shows (Gordon Ramsey/Hell's Kitchen/Masterchef/etc.!), cooking (anything/everything), social dancing (swing!), and goofing off with family and friends.

I'm warm and positive, and I enjoy my life. I love spending time with my family and friends. I've been blessed to have many influences in my life, both family and friends. Volunteer opportunities at church have enriched my life. I love to walk, watch movies, attend live theater and shows, read, and ballroom dance. Trips and classes with Audubon have introduced me to beautiful places in CA. I feel very close to God out in nature.

Well, I just visited my best friend from St Paul's Catholic grade school, while the pope was visiting in the Philadelphia area..."Have the Courage to be Happy!" We had the best time together and have parallel lives...except I don't have a wonderful Catholic husband. We both have two grown children and one granddaughter...which is a thrill! We both have excellent health and love "taking it up a notch" with hiking and a deep appreciation of the outdoor! We love to make really healthy natural shakes with super healthy ingredients. My newest goal is to work out on the elliptical, 60 - 90 minutes/day. I love natural healthcare as my work and my MD girlfriend wants me to get licensed in I am looking at doing that.

  • Donna, 69 from Oakland, CA
    69, Oakland, CA
Hello and thanks for viewing my profile. I'll start with my faith, which is an integral part of my life as I love being a Catholic and have been one since the cradle. I am a Eucharistic Minister, Lector and will join the Parish Council in the fall of 2016. I also help out with fundraising events and whatever else is needed. I belong to St. Leo the Great Church on Piedmont Ave. I retired on August 15, 2015, so having free time is new to me. I was blessed with having a very successful career in health care and have several good several friends who I keep in touch with. So now seems to be the perfect time to reach out and hopefully find someone to share my retirement life with. I have three sons: my youngest, who lives in Burlingame is single; my oldest son, who lives in San Diego is married with two children; and my middle son who lives in East Aurora, New York, is married and has two children. I see my youngest son weekly, usually for Sunday dinner and my other two sons usually 2-3 times per year. Of course I never mind visiting them in San Diego or New York. I really enjoy going to movies, watching sporting events, (Go Warriors), taking long walks, dining out or cooking healthful meals. I am in great health and work hard with diet and exercise to stay this way. I'll stop now and leave the rest for a phone conversation should the time come. Looking forward to hearing from you. Donna
