Passionate about: Life. People. History. Food. Wine. Books. Poetry. Art. Travel....on and on...I could go... Politics- all which drives the world of international finance, ego, greed, domination and heinous acts that continue to plague our world. Shame on us all! Influenced by: Mother Teresa for her optimism and the work she continued on with relentless tenacity/passion.hope.... Richard Branson for his zest for life and creative imagination. Not shy, a groundbreaker. Sexy qualities. Leisure time: Life is a bowl of cherries to savour, pick 'n choose, experiment. Live 'n learn. The best things happen when one maintains an open mind with a warm-loving-forgiving heart....= JOY!

  • Dagmar, 70 from Keswick, CA

I am a woman who is passionate about life and treasure every day on this beautiful planet. I have been retired for almost 10 years and currently live alone in a new home that I subcontracted to build over a 2 year period. I attend mass regularly and am involved in other parish activities. To be honest, I can't describe the type of man that I would like to meet other than he needs to have a love of God and an appreciation of our faith.

I'm a foot commuter, plus workout 3x/week...I love movement! In my spare time I enjoy reading and having meaningful conversations with my friends.
  • Linda, 64 from Otterburn Park, CA
    64, Otterburn Park, CA
Hi, My name is Linda and I was born in St. Hyacinthe, Quebec. I had a French Catholic father and an English Protestant mother. I was married in 1979 in an old Catholic Church to a wonderful man....we were married for 36 years. He died this year quickly of stage 4 esophagus cancer; he was 63. I was a teacher until my retirement, when my husband fell ill. I love to travel, but I also enjoyed being at home with my husband. My favourite t.v. programs were NCIS , NCIS Los Angeles, NCIS New York, Elementary, etc. I watch the mass everyday on EWTN. And I belong to a beautiful old local Catholic Church where I attend the service in French. I speak French fluently. I taught for 2 years in England on an exchange and travelled throughout Europe. I love to husband loved to cook. I like all types of food. I would like to write a book but must discipline myself to make time. I play bridge with some friends once a week, and I enjoy that. I visit my 93 old mother in a residence on Sundays. I have lots of friends and acquaintances, I belong to Cursillo, I'm in my 3 rd year of the St. Ignatius Spiritual Exercises, I belong to the Dart Club at the local legion. I make sure to stay active and be with people and this, and especially my faith, has helped me deal with the recent changes in my marital status from happily married to a widow. I am very friendly, outgoing, emotionally supportive, kind, and happy, I like to read a lot but again find that I lack the time to read as much as I want. Although it's easy to read on a beach, and on holiday. I have one son who is 28 and who lives in Toronto and has just bought a house there with his girlfriend of 8 they are not married yet! He has a good sense of humour and works hard. People respect him. I like going to movies and I have just seen the new James Bond film , Spectre. I have season tickets at my local theatre to see ten operas transmitted live from the Lincoln Centre. I have many childhood friends that I am still in touch with. And new friends too. I live in a bilingual world....many of my groups are French. But I enjoyed living in England for 2 years when I was a teacher on exchange and was even invited to the Royal Garden Party twice....I read French books and had a few French friends there so as not to lose my French...and I taught French there. In Quebec, I taught English to high school students....My mother tongue is English. Hope someone very nice and interesting likes what he has read.
  • Carmel, 68 from Toronto, CA
    68, Toronto, CA
Hello Fellow Members! I feel I am a warm and compassionate person and I am looking for a companion with similar traits to share time with. I attend Daily Mass when I can and act as Sacristan twice a week. I also volunteer from time to time in my parish. Currently, I am President of the Serra Club (international club devoted to vocations to the priesthood and religious life). I live alone and except for friends, who I count as family, I do not have any close family in Canada. I have always been independent but now that I am retired I would like to share my days with someone who has similar interests. I feel healthy and intend staying that way for a long time by taking care of mind, body and spirit. When I was in my early 30's I had a rare cancer and wasn't sure I would survive but I did and thank God every day for His blessings and miracles in my life. I enjoy walking (I love everything to do with nature, animals, children and creation), going to the gym - usually twice a week (I should go more but never seem to make it). I love the simple things in life: reading, anything to do with history, going to art galleries, museums, cooking, meeting friends for lunch in neighbourhood bistros, travelling and catching up with old friends, both here in Canada and the U.K. where I am from originally. I still keep in touch with old friends in England who I have known since I was a toddler and visit them from time to time. I did return to the U.K. to live for a couple of years to live but felt like I had a foot in each Continent at the time and felt like a transplanted plant! The experience did show me that I did want to be a Canadian and so I returned and now I only travel there for vacations. I sometimes go on international pilgrimages - last one was to France and Israel. However, I am just as happy to stay home, listening to music or watching an old movie.

I am definetely a " nature" person: going hiking or for a walk in the forest, listening to the sounds or observing birds and their behavior or stopping to smell a wild flower or just simply admiring the awesome beauty of it all and being so thankfull for each minute. I am a firm believer that in order to stay young and healthy one must be active: I enjoy cycling, hiking, swimming and in the winter, snowshoeing in the mountains and outdoor skating is wonderful. Did I mention that I LOVE dancing ( any kind) as well. Attending mass during the week is something I constantly try to improve and my Sunday mass is very important to me, both the nourishment that one receives for their soul and as well the graces that HE gives me so that I can better discern HIS will in my life. My daughter and her family are very important to me, just wish I could be with them more often! Friends describe me as : bubbly, considerate and honest. My baby sister was always a very important part of my life, both in her support and her advice and listening ear whenever I needed. I look forward to sharing my life, goals with someone who shares my catholic beliefs, is considerate, honest sensitive to the needs of others, good communication skills , positive and loves life.

What is important? My faith, my family and my friends. For those of us looking for companionship rather than going the solo route, life is a lot more fun when it can be shared - it's good for the soul, and brings a sense of balance and joy. someone whose thoughts are of me and my thoughts are of him. I am outgoing, fit, and active and in great health. Even though I am no spring chicken, I can keep up with those younger! I enjoy - downhill skiing, curling , golf , gardening. love life and like to take it all in. Sunrise and morning coffee is always something to look forward to. I am independent, quite spontaneous , enthusiastic and fun . I so enjoy the outdoors and all that it has to offer. It can be camping , golf, fishing or enjoying the beach. I am a people person and am intrigued with our relationships, our behaviours and actions , and why we do the things we do. I love the experience of travel and the joy of immersing myself in another culture learning about their customs. My time volunteering is important and a way of helping those who have not been as fortunate. Life is also about caring for and helping out. I am trying this site out because my catholic faith is extremely important and would want that to be a common ground. Looking for companionship that may grow - integrity and interest of life, good health and Quiet confidence are important.
