Love to spend time with family and friends. Like to travel and visit museums, parks, historic sites, antique shows, yard sales, etc. Particularly interested in the arts; music, dancing, painting, drawing and all things creative. I love anything to do with culture and all things ancient. I am fascinated by ancient ruins, languages and artifacts. Moved to Connecticut 2 1/2 yrs ago and still looking forward to meeting new people and exploring new places. Distance is no object for me regarding getting to know new people. Spending a couple of hours in the car for a get together with friends is a common occurrence for me although Tibet or the N. pole may be a bit of a challenge though. I am open to what life has to offer and what is in store for me. I like to hang out with people who have interests in life and are open to exploring life. I love to shop ( what girl doesn't) but it is more about seeing what new styles, ideas and inventions are out there. I don' t always buy and am just as happy to make a trip to a Home Depot as I am to Home Goods or Lord and Taylor's. I am inspired by color, design and function. I really enjoy time with friends and family, BBQ's, dinner at a nice restaurant or just a casual visit. While I enjoy some level of intellectual conversation with people I am also very happy to chat about common daily events and life.

I became a Catholic 16 years ago. Accepting Jesus is the single best thing I have done for myself and my family. I love music and play a couple of instruments. I try to exercise regularly. I am a responsible hard-working mother who has been blessed with wonderful children. I try always to keep Jesus at the center of my life.

Hi, I wanted to update my profile info, since I wrote it almost a year ago. I have five great children that live with me full time. God really blessed me with each of their lives I trusted to me. Unfortunately my "marriage" never was legal and so God blessed me again to grant me an annulment. I am a old fashioned person in both morals and values but I love to smile and laugh and life's little things. Since I am in my own, five years now my life has obviously been about healing and letting go. That has been yet another grace God provided me, as I now am okay to stand alone in Christ. I would enjoy slowly getting to know someone if God so wills it. Well , I believe that's all for now.
  • Maria, 24 from Oxford, CT

I'm an affectionate young Catholic woman, who likes having fun, playing outside, going for walks, relaxing, talking about movies, good conversation and time with family and friends. More about me: I love the Traditional Roman Liturgy and the Sacraments. One thing that you should know about me is that I have OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) and am being medicated for it. These conditions can be treated and I hope my special man would be willing and patient to work with me. I am passionate also about theology, philosophy, literature, and any good quality reading/studying. I like to write stories. Majoring in English at college was amazing because I love using the mind God gave me and learning about His Creation in different disciplines. People who have inspired me are my loving, hard-working, self sacrificing and holy mom and dad. Other people I admire are the elves in Tolkien's books!

Truthfully, I'm just me (I'm sure you've read that in many profiles, LOL!) I have a wide range of interest and enjoy engaging in great conversation and activities. I am versatile and very comfortable wearing a t-shirt, jeans and boots to wearing pearls and a black dress. I am family oriented and believe in God, good morals and values. I am at a point in life where I would like to be with someone whom I can share similar interest with and experience what life has to offer. I believe friendship is the foundation for any relationship, And creates a solid bond, so let's start there. I'm most passionate about my family and children for they are true blessings. In addition, I enjoy gardening, cooking, photography, fictional writing, traveling and food blogging, laughing, great conversation, the beach, quiet nights, cozy fires, B&Bs, snow mobiling, x-country skiing, hiking, camping, spending time with family and friends, coaching soccer, New England, Boston Red Sox, Pats, visiting the New England states, especially Boston. The most influential person in my life Is my father; he taught me compassion, the ability to help others and to appreciate the little things in life.

  • Maureen, 39 from Hartford, CT
    39, Hartford, CT
I love music and I'm eclectic in my music tastes - my favorite genre depends on my mood. My bucket list of travel includes places like Belfast, Reykjavik, Copenhagen, Prague, Budapest, Flanders. I prefer British television and independent movies. Yes to football, baseball and hockey. I love the winter and snow. I always eat dessert, sometimes first. I strongly dislike cats. I always cheer for the underdog. I change my mind regularly, usually hourly. I can't help but push boundaries/limits that someone else set for me, I tend to question authority a bit too much. I shiver when people use double negatives. I get grossed out by people who chew with their mouth open. I'm somewhat old fashioned but I am a firm believer in feminism and equality for everyone regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, etc. I take my catholic faith seriously, but I never preach and I (try to) go to church every Sunday - I find it very peaceful, cathartic. Ignorance makes me mental. I never give all of my secrets away at once. I believe that mystery and leaving something to the imagination is way more exciting than having it crammed down your throat.
