66, Darien, CTI'm a widow with a young son in the 8th grade. My husband died of Cancer in 2004. I'm 60 years old. I work 20 hours/week as assistant to the Chair of Pediatrics at a local hospital. I love children so much and had always hoped to have a large family, but God made my life path somewhat different. Having gone back to work after 7 years home as a full time mom has meant giving up most of any "free" time I might have. My "free" time since then has been devoted to keeping his world as stable as possible since he was only in first grade when his dad died. Personally, I like to be outside as much as possible (as long as the weather is decent!). I have a good sense of humor, am artistic and kind. I have a master's degree and would someday like to complete a doctoral program. I love learning, lived overseas and speak German. I like a variety of music and reading. I like the simple things in life basically. Trust means a great deal to me and loyalty, faithfullness and hope are critical. I have a firm Irish Catholic faith which is more on the charasmatic side of things I suppose.

57, South Windsor, CTHello : ) Although I'm typically pretty confident, I find myself somewhat timid in this process as I've never introduced myself in quite this fashion....So, I took a poll of my family/friends and here's what I've come up with....happy, positive, adventurous, full of life, kind, generous, family oriented....While I like to think that I am all of these, I see myself as outgoing, flexible, sensitive, compassionate, loyal. I try to stay positive and keep a sense of humor, even if it means laughing at my own mistakes ; ) Having grown up in a large Italian-Portuguese family, I am a 'people person' - I like to listen, watch, meet, talk. I am close with my family and feel very lucky to share the gift of friendship with each of my seven siblings. I am also, yes, the proud mother of two adult children with whom I enjoy close relationships. So what do I like to do?! I love the outdoors - running, hiking, biking, kayaking, being by the ocean, or in the mountains skiing and snowshoeing. Being in the field of childhood mental health, I find that each of these activities help me to renew and regroup, slow down, and gain perspective. I also enjoy the peacefulness of yoga and the stillness I often find in my garden. I like to cook, especially while listening to music and while in the company of family/friends. I also like to read. I love theatre, dance, and pretending to be a Bostonian or New Yorker! I am looking for companionship with a non smoking man of similar age and interests; but ultimately a soulmate, who's willing to connect over the everyday small stuff, yet able to be vulnerable in sharing the big stuff. My faith is very important to me and part of my daily life. Over the years I've discovered how very precious life is....The following quotes describe my outlook and the manner in which I try to live my life, seeking to make the most of each day...."There are two ways to live life; one is as if nothing is a miracle....the other is as if everything IS." " I believe in the sun even when it's not shining....I believe in love even when I cannot feel it....I believe in God, even when he is silent." Thank you for taking the time to read my profile. If any of what I've written describes your outlook or resonates with you, I look forward to meeting you....perhaps over a Starbucks and a lil dolce ; )
64, Meriden, CTLife is an adventure! Life lived from the perspective of the Catholic Christian faith, for me, frames this adventure. There has always been so much to learn, to experience, and to practice, that I have never yet found the right man to whom to commit in married life - - although I believe that if it is in God's plan for me, it will come to pass. The most influential persons in my life have been family: four grandparents (all living either upstairs or just down the street), Mom and Dad, two brothers, and the extended clan. Besides this lot, there are a few good friends, and, throughout all the years, always one or two very special friends whom I most admire. My interests range from ongoing learning (currently in philosophy) to fishing and beachgoing; gardening and cooking to bicycling; music (especially baroque and sacred classical) reading, classic films, travel, and more stuff than I can squeeze into this little space! I prefer understatement in this forum, so I'll close here, for now...
31, Fairfield, CTI consider myself a happy, hardworking, loyal and low-key person. I am excited to see what Gods will is for me in the future and I hope that it includes finding a nice man to journey through life together. For a quick description of myself: I tend to be quiet in large groups of people, although I become more talkative in small groups of people who I know well. I have a sense of humor and like a good laugh, but I can also be serious at times. Despite being very petite, I am an active person who enjoys running, sailing, playing ultimate frisbee and participating in most sports or activities. I also enjoy photography, playing board games and the simple things in life. I am naturally curious and enjoy learning as well as teaching. This has led me to my profession of being a math professor and I really like the students and my job. I am one of four children and I have always been close to my family and appreciate spending time with them. I was raised Catholic and my faith always been important to me and has played a large role in forming me into the person I am today.
