I have been divorced/annuled for more than ten years. I have been open to other relationships, but my life is very full so not actively seeking. Recently I have decided that I am ready for new adventures. For many years I lived in Oklahoma where I was a professional in a healthcare related field. I owned my own business and taugh at two local community colleges. Teaching is my true love and a year ago I jumped at the opportunity to teach full time at a small liberal arts college here in Illinois. I have a son in college in Tulsa and enjoy him very much. I am fairly active in my church, sing in the choir and occasionally cantor. I am enjoying small town life after almost 30 years in the city. Though I would prefer to be in the mountains, this is a good place to be. I enjoy many things, particularly hiking, horseback riding and sight seeing, as well as music, movies, good comedy, books and learning new skills ( I've taken classes in ceramic tiling, upholstery, landscaping and woodworking, among others). I enjoy a good discussion as long as it is in the right spirit.

I am a single divorced (20 years) and have two grown children and four grandchildren. Live in a rural area and enjoy the country life. Have three horses, a dog and a cat. Enjoy horseback riding, working in and out of the house. I have currently been working on my current home. Enjoy a fixer upper older home. Like to salvage anything in the older home that was original. Have dated over the years but nothing long lasting. Also, I volunteer my help in organizing a golf tournament ( I don't golf) fnd I take my horses to a kids weekend camp and let them get the experience of riding and learning about horses. I believe they are great teachers of lifes important lessons and the best friends a person could have as a pet. Retired last year and enjoy it. Keep busy with subtitute teaching/cooking at the local grade school and helping my son with bookkeeping in his local business. I believe if you are busy you don't get so lonelly. Currently am looking for someone that has enthusiam in his work and play and not afraid to get dirty but cleans up well. Enjoy the occasional night on the town. Open to try new activities, I have in the past boated, and motorcylce riden. Any activity can be fun with the right person. Have never sky dived or gone on any long trips either boating or in the car. Not looking for a couch potato. Also, someone who is not intimidated by my independent attitude. I grew up on an apple orchard one of four girls and one brother. I was Dad's tom boy and my play house was the great outdoors.

In partially answering the prompts here....I consider myself an even tempered, pretty down to earth (not into drama) kind of person. I'm passionate, my faith; my family--children and grandchildren; being a lifelong learner--expanding my knowledge and sense of wonder; teaching--nurturing young learners and seeing them grow; creative expression--writing and painting; nature and being outdoors; all things Christmas and finding just the right gifts for those I love; music; and home improvement projects--out of necessity! My Mother is my biggest influence and best friend. She is admired and loved by everyone who knows her, especially me. I think everything I've lived and made part of myself has influenced me..people, experiences, ideas, places I've reality or through books. Life is the ultimate learning experience. I am learning through all the experiences the Lord has put into my life journey...although admittedly, I am still trying to understand and grow through them. The many people who have helped nurture and encourage me to grow, those who I've loved and those who loved me have been my rock and the wind that moves me onward. Creative expression is both passion, work and hobby. I write (published twice) and dabble in art. I thrive on being outside--landscaping, gardening and "playing in the dirt." I think what people like says something about them....I really like snowcones, hazelnut coffee, queen anne's lace, Shasta daisies, and lily of the valley, creme de menthe milkshakes, live fireworks, storms and the smell of home improvement/hardware stores. (Ok, that may sound weird, but one of my college jobs was at Ace Hardware.) I like both dogs and cats, horses and other four footed critters. (Over the years, our family has adopted many dogs, cats, and smaller critters.) Some days "leisure time" seems elusive. I do like to work outside in the yard--landscaping, battling weeds, gardening. I enjoy reading, creating things and watching some TV--especially shows like Sherlock, Murdoch Mysteries, Rosemary & Thyme, NCIS, Castle and Mentalist reruns. (Notice a theme here?)

I look forward to enjoying a new friendship to start and see where that goes, with good conversation, going out to eat, dancing, boating, movies or enjoying the outdoors, even if it chatting on the patio. i love to learn about a variety of things, and enjoy reading and inspirational material. As a speaker/educator, I give retreats, workshops and presentations on various spiritually motivation topics, also do spiritual direction (counseling). For leisure, I to have FUN, also like to explore new places, take one-tank trips to interesting towns-like a mini-vacation to the points of interest and dress like a tourist when I can't travel.

I am a proud mother of four children and grandmother of three. Of course, we have our ups and downs, but we always smooth things over and carry on. We are very devoted to our family. I am also a seventh grade English teacher who plans to retire in three years. I love teaching, and I love my students; teaching is a vocation to me, and has kept me sane when I needed my sanity(: My passion is travelling; I will go at the drop of a hat! My daughter and her husband live in Germany, so I fly there as often as possible. From Germany, it us easy to travel to Italy, Spain, France, etc. I have been divorced and marriage has been annulled for eight years. I get along fine on my own, but I realize that I miss companionship and love.

Hi, I have been a widow for 4 1/2 years. It has been one of the most difficult things that I have ever experienced. I was married for 39 years to my high school sweetheart. I lost my husband to pancreatic cancer. He fought this disease for 6 years and on December 28 he lost the fight. I work full time in our local school district and plan to retire the end of this coming school year. Currently my two granddaughters and my son live with me. It has helped to be able to focus on them however, I would like to be able to have someone to be able to talk to, someone who has gone through what I have and can relate to the pain and grief. I would like to meet someone who is understanding of my situation concerning my granddaughters. They are a big part of my life and they mean the world to me. I enjoy going to the show and eating out, going to flea markets, antique shops. My life is a simple one and family is important. I would like to start with one line conversations first to see how things go and take it from there. I also attend church on Sunday day mornings.

Hi there! I am a 69 yr.old widow of five yrs.. I am not what I would call a great Catholic but I talk to God all day long. Just about as much as I talk to myself lol, and I go to church weekly and Holy days when I remember!! I am a mother of two and grandmother of seven with one on her way. I was married for 38 yr's before he passed of COPD.. Of course family is first for me and there's always room for one more! Art has been a passion since crayons were invented. I think I was there that day. I have a garden of flowers, fish ponds, fountains and waterfalls, all of witch I did myself. In the morning coffee or tea and watching the little critters and in the evening a cold drink, light the torches, turn on the music and chill. Swing dancing or any dancing is also up there on my fun list. Fishing I could do all day. Sis has a place in the Ozarks and some real sweet spots only we know. Crappy, bass and blue cat are the bomb, yum! I used to ride motorcycles but since I had a stroke in 2011 I can no longer shift with my left foot and I do still have a bit of a limp but oh If I could only afford a trike this girl would be outta here lol. I haven't painted bikes for a while but planning to get back to it soon. I love the outdoors and recently bought a new Stihl chainsaw ( they make them now so women can start them) to clear out a small field next to the house (my own little park) someday! I can get lost in all my little hobbies. I own my own home and my car will be paid off next July. I am not needy and owe no one. I'm looking for someone with similar likes and someone who want's to have fun and travel on the up and up of course. I usually travel alone and I do meet a lot of great people but it would be fun to point to something interesting and say "hey, look at that" lol. I went on my first cruise last year and swam with the dolphins, saw the Mayan ruins, watched the locals swim in a huge sinkhole and spent a few days walking around New Orleans. The next thing on the bucket list is to visit as many National parks as possible. Short road trips are great as well and as many cruises as possible lol. I'm not sure of remarrying at this time but hey good things can happen. I will be posting new pic's soon, as I have cut my hair and do look a bit different. Hope I didn't bore you and thanks for stopping by!! Marcia
