Hi! Thanks for checking out my profile. I hope you find whatever it is you are looking for (friendship, marriage, etc.) here on the site or in day-to-day life. For the record, I am horrible at writing about myself, so here goes nothing: first and foremost, I love my family especially my parents and my aunt. My aunt is quite a bit older than me, but I've always seen her as more of an older sister than aunt. I love family get-togethers and being able to catch up on the lives of my extended family, especially my cousins. Aside from family, I enjoy learning more about the Catholic faith and this year I took over teaching Confirmation to the eighth graders at my parish. (Prayers for that are always appreciated!) I love traveling and was fortunate that growing up we took a week long vacation every year. My favorite destination is probably Italy with Germany taking a close second --- at least outside of the US. Within the States there are so many places I love going to - the Smoky Mountains, Michigan's UP, Minnesota's North Shore (Lake Superior), and the National Parks in Utah. I enjoy a good game of euchre, which has become a family Christmas & New Year's tradition now. I've also taken an interest in becoming more physically fit, so I don't mind a good leg day in the gym...even if I can't walk for days later. :) I completed my first half marathon in October 2014 in 2 hours and 44 minutes, and while not a great time, made me happy because I just started running in June. I will complete my second half in Oct 2015, so I guess I should get back into a training routine...

I'm basically a small town girl who enjoys spending time with friends and family. I teach high school Spanish and CCD at church. I really enjoy my students, and they keep me on my toes. I have fun traveling, but at the same time, there's no place like home. :) I'm an optimistic person, and I can play a fierce game of badminton. I am sometimes a tiny bit shy, and I have been known to enjoy a good pun now and again. I like finding bargains, learning new things, and working on crossword puzzles. I am often amused by random facts and trivia. I am really bad at telling jokes, but I like to listen to them. I have very eclectic taste in music, and I'm always singing along with the radio. I like going to Mass, and my faith and my family are very important to me.

I guess I have been passionate about the people I love and my faith. My daughter is now in college, but she has been one of the main focuses in my life along with my career. My interests are animals, being out in nature, scuba diving, horseback riding, going for motorcycle rides, and boating on Lake Michigan. I also enjoy cultural and sporting events. I guess I enjoy doing a lot of different things and am up for new experiences. I feel I am a very down to earth person and someone who is easy to talk to and laugh with. I try to be considerate of other's feelings and am a very loving person. My parents have been the most influential people in my life. They have taught me to have a good work ethic, to be a person of character, and one that appreciates others, and to live a moral life.

I like to talk walks on the beach, play cards, be on the go. I am very social and active and I am looking for a companion who is social and active as well. I also enjoy reading and time with family. My faith is very important to me. I've had my ups and downs in my life, just as others, but God has always been there for me. I was born with a sense of humor, love live, and very positive. I enjoy meeting new people . I am a very caring and kind person by nature. I credit that to my up bringing. My husband died four year ago. This site is all new to me. I am ready to move on with life. I have a big heart and lots to share with someone special.

Passionate about my faith (growing in it) and my family (praying them into Heaven); all else takes second place. Annulment pending. Greatest influences; My parents, quite strict but built us to be strong, to love God, to be fair to others. Neither finished high school, which was fairly common during the War. It was impossible to fool my wise father on anything.... never kid a kidder, he would say! But he taught me many valuable lessons. I especially recall his kindness early one morning after a young man fell asleep at the wheel and crashed into our parked new station wagon....this young man had no insurance so refused a trip to the hospital, my dad brought him in, cleaned his head wounds and took great care of him. When I asked him why he wasn't upset about the car, he firmly chastised me that cars can always be replaced but people cannot be replaced. That always made a huge impression on me. He wasn't a brick and mortar type of Catholic, but he lived his faith by example in the way he treated others and his indifference towards materialism. At his funeral, I was stunned by the many people, strangers many, divulging numerous stories of his aiding so many in need, always while rather impoverished himself. My mother was more of a devotional Catholic and more recently I have developed a fuller appreciation and understanding of how her prayers have benefitted me (and still do) and it humbles me in gratitude. So they are my greatest influences and I hope they are smiling down on me. Leisure time? I spend way too much time on the computer and have cut that way back, except that I really enjoy writing and hope to publish someday. I love my dog, had two until recently. I read a lot, lovelovelove music and in my imagination I am an amazing dancer but reality is more like Elaine on Seinfeld. I try to go swimming at the YMCA several times a week to get in better shape and I really enjoy that, eat pretty healthy. Pilates 2 times a week. Love wave running and jumping waves whenever I get the chance. Politics is one of my many passions, so a bit distracted these days! I love old movies which is a passion I inherited from my mother. I'm especially fond of World War 2 movies based on hearing my father's experience in the army. Or any movie that I find edifying or based on a true story I always enjoy. Enjoy remodeling and decorating. I would like to study photography, I am drawn to snapping away at sunsets and autumn scenes or nature in general.

First and foremost I am passionate about my faith, the Lord is first in my life. Secondly is my children and grandchildren, they mean the world to me. I love having family get-togethers especially around the holidays, family dinners just being together is the best for me. These two things are the most important things in my life and I'd love to find someone who feels the same about their faith and their family as I do. I guess the thing I look forward to the most would be retiring. So I have more time to do the things I enjoy and maybe volunteer some. I enjoy doing lots of things, bond fires, swimming, walking, boating, festivals, concerts just about anything but bowling. I can't bowl, but if you can I will watch and root you on. My hobbies are sewing and doing crafts. I love creating gifts for people. I enjoy most music but rap, I can't handle rap.

The thought of starting a new relationship at this point in life is a bit frightening. But, marriage leads to sanctity and I genuinely miss having someone to share life's moments with. I enjoy a simple life. I work full-time. Other time is spent reading, or doing outdoor activities such as gardening and walking. I try to attend Mass several times a week. I enjoy being with family and friends, but tend to be somewhat quiet and reserved. I like listening to other people's stories more than telling mine own, but enjoy genuine conversations. I have one daughter, who has not lived with me for many years. I'm hopeful about being a grandmother and would like to live close to grandchildren. I prefer warm weather, but could live anywhere that is close to grandchildren. Although some alone time is important, I'd like to be with someone who enjoys sharing laughter, prayer, and parish and other activities. Mostly, I just hope to find the person God wants me to be with.

An educator at heart, I am also the consummate student. I love to learn and focus less on the accomplishments of my past and more on the potential I have yet to fulfill. I come from a family of educators, so it is in my blood, but it is also in my heart. The very art of teaching is supported by the openness to learn from others. Meeting new people of all cultures is my preferred educational venue. I appreciate learning about various cultures and historical elements. I am fascinated by diversity but also by how much we are alike in so many ways. As one who values learning and education, I consider myself an intellectual with a capacity for silliness...a great combination! The perfect guy for me would have a quick wit and curious intelligence that would allow for dialogues of depth and meaning, yet his fun and quirky sense of humor would always be close at hand. I can talk about European history in one moment and then discuss the finer points of handling an ATV in the mud in the next moment. Another form of diversity exists in being well-versed in any number of topics. Never a dull moment! As a partner, my areas of expertise include, but are far from limited, to honesty, loyalty, and compassion. I am also very passionate and demonstrative. You will never have to guess how much I care for you. You will simply feel it. I am one who will support you through the challenging times and champion you in the best of them. Of course, I am not immune to the loving reciprocation of such affections, either. What I admire in a man is one who is confident and self-assured, fully aware of his path and passions in life. However, he refuses to entertain ego and arrogance. He is one for whom kindness and compassion are instincts and his sincere respect for those around him can be heard in his voice and seen in his actions. I appreciate a man who lives with an open mind, a spirit of tolerance, a generous heart, and a loving soul. He is driven and ambitious, yet not immune to indulging that child-like sense of wonder that keeps us grounded and in the moment. He must have a great sense of humor; a sense of self; a sense of purpose; and a sense of adventure. As for a sense of direction, well, that'd be I have none...but, then again...that's what a GPS is for! Besides, half the fun in getting somewhere rests in the journey along the way!
