My faith is my major source of strength in life. I'm most grateful for my faith ,family and friends and health to enjoy life. I'm a country girl at heart and enjoy most anything of a domestic nature, cooking, entertaining, gardening, decorating and enjoying the outdoors and a cozy home. I'm fun-loving, witty, caring, sensitive and an incurable romantic. I love spending time with family and friends, love to dance and socialize as well as spending quiet times at home. I'm a mother of two grown, married children and have 8 beautiful grandchildren. I like to travel when I have the opportunity and look forward to having more time for that in retirement, as well as volunteering and a few more home projects. But although I look forward, I live life in the present, find enjoyment in, and am grateful for, all blessings, no matter how big or small. I've always considered my faith one of the biggest blessings.

I enjoy walking, bicycling, playing cards, listening to good music, going to plays and spending time with family and friends. My Catholic faith is important to me and has been a big influence in my life. I have a granddaughter who is playing college basketball and enjoy watching her compete, as well as all of the Iowa college teams, especially the Hawkeyes. My husband and I had 54+ years together before he passed from cancer over 5 years ago. He loved to tease me and I loved to make him laugh, even if it was at me. They were good years for the most part. We raised 4 boys and 1 girl and they have given me 14 grandchildren and 2 great grand children. I love to spend time with them, but they have their own lives as I have mine. I enjoy an occasional adult beverage, either beer or a glass of wine and an evening at home or out with friends. Most of all, I love to travel and believe in all of life the journey is as important as the destination. As of 10/2016, my granddaughter has graduated college so my winters are going to be filled with more travel and adventures. I am looking forward to zip-lining sometime soon. Also would like to kayak and/or canoe more.

I am a writer and I write children's rhyming pictures books. I have had five published and am working on the sixth. I look forward to each and every day as I feel it is a gift from God and it's not to be wasted. I retired from the medical field after 20 years and my late husband and I moved from this area we had lived in for many years. When he passed away in 2009, I moved back to Iowa to be close to some of my children. I spent the last few years volunteering at a medical clinic for low income patients and then at the new PCI medical facility here in Cedar Rapids. I was a Eucharist Minister at my church until I moved to the other side of town recently and will eventually be volunteering at my new church. I love my flower gardens and enjoy working in them very much. My daughter is the most influential person in my life at this moment. I have met many interesting people in my lifetime who have also been influential. In my leisure time, I enjoy reading, playing with my little dog, movies, and I enjoy good music and occasionally dinner out. I am a home body and I enjoy a good DVD and popcorn and cuddling in front of the fireplace. Walking in the park and a picnic in the summer is a real joy. I also love to read and write poetry and enjoy working crossword puzzles. I especially appreciate well groomed men who make me laugh. I enjoy the company of others and look forward to meeting a real gentleman from the "old school." I'm hoping there is someone close to my address as I'm not wanting to travel far for a relationship.

I am a fun loving person. I'm up for the party. I an RN and work every weekend two twelve hour shifts in the ER at the University of Iowa. Love my job! And only two days a week, it's great! A very nice way to ease into retirement although that is not a priority for me. For the two reasons I just mentioned. Love my job and only two days a week! I love to bake. Always making something to take to work. My door is always open to welcome whoever wants to stop in. I would love to go an all-inclusive resort or on a cruise. A couple of things on my bucket list. I used to ride a motorcycle but didn't get out much. Didn't really hang out with anyone else who rode. So I either went alone or didn't go at all. Have been to northeast Iowa a couple of times just myself and it was a great adventure. Also rode to Sturgis and back twice. I like adventure and trying new things. You don't grow unless you get uncomfortable and I'm all about growing in any way I can.

I am a kind, considerate, warm and caring woman. I believe in complete honesty and trust for a relationship to work. I was married for 44 years and have been a widow for over 2 years. I am ready to move forward to the next chapter of my life. I love to laugh, like most kinds of music except rap and heavy metal. Life is an adventure and am looking for a partner to share it with. I like to travel and usually try to get somewhere warm for at least part of the winter. Family and friends are a very important part of my life and I miss making memories with that special partner.

I have a busy and happy life walking, biking, reading, golfing, traveling and socializing with friends and family. I am an active volunteer at church and in my community. Summers in Iowa and winters in the south give me the best of both worlds. Still, life alone after a long and happy marriage is lonely. I enjoy a glass of wine on the deck or patio with friends. By nature, I'm pretty conservative, however I survived a mile-long zip-line at speeds of 70 plus MPH. Owning a classic Mustang is on my bucket list. I'm interested in meeting someone who shares my interests as I share their interests.

I am a sincere individual who treats people the way I want to be treated; with respect. I am passionate about people because we are all unique in our own individual way. I believe we can all learn from one another. I love music of all types, except for most rap, love to dance . I occasionally will read a good book. Love to take walks in the summer. I enjoy traveling. Will try anything within reason for the first time and if I don't enjoy it, won't do it again. Love going out to dinner or a good movie or just cuddling at home and watching a good movie.
