"It is Jesus you seek when you dream of happiness; he is waiting for you when nothing else you find satisfies you; he is the beauty to which you are so attracted; it is he who provokes you with that thirst for fullness that will not let you settle for compromise; it is he who urges you to shed the masks of a false life; it is he who reads in your hearts your most genuine choices, the choices that others try to stifle." -- St. Pope John Paul II My name is Theresa and I am in Rome until May, with the hopes of returning to Italy or elsewhere in Europe in autumn 2017 to live long term, God willing. While English is my native language, I can read and write a bit of French and will hopefully be conversant in Italian in a few months. Why move to Rome for three months you ask? (The proper answer is that I am only allowed in the Schengen Zone for 90 days; if not for that requirement it would have been much longer! Haha!) Is it to bring to life the romantic visions Americans (read: women) have of Italy, in which everyone is happy, looks like Sophia Loren/Marcello Mastroianni, eats pasta all day and doesn't gain a pound, and is in love? Sicuramente no! To have an exciting, brief and passionate fling with an Italian? Noooo. Devoted Catholic convert here. To embark upon my own eat-pray-love expedition of self-discovery and meditation? Resoundingly no, sir! To discern becoming a religious or nun? Non, mais merci. To become a groupie of Pope Francis or Pope Emeritus Benedict? Well...maybe... :-) I guess you'll have to find out, won't you? My interview is fun, you should check it out. ;-)

I see myself as a happy person who has the good fortune and the good attitude to enjoy many things. I have friends who date back to elementary school, high school and so on. Well, I have cut out old time friends who had become demanding and not warm (so liberating). I am also dependent on those with whom I form an intimate bond, but I do not dislike that! As a physician, I always loved the different aspects of my work, the academic and the clinical hours. Through many years I learned to listen to coworkers in different roles and to become an involved supervisor. Now that I have stepped down the hospital responsibilities and tight hours to work part time, I look forward to more free time to take better care of myself and to do things I did not have time for until now: fun, interesting, and adventurous travels and horse back riding. My home, overlooking the woods, is in the outskirts of Siena, a medieval university city in Tuscany. I travel relatively often to NYC were I was trained long time ago and have the good fortune to maintain friends. I am a widow without children and have not had a meaningful relationship in a long time. That is an empty spot that a really wish to overcome. The man I am looking for is someone I can feel attracted to romantically and intellectually, someone to laugh with and to share life.

Hi, you know my name by now so I'll add that I was born and bred in the UK but my background is very Italian. I have been living in Rome for many many years - despite everything I love this incredible city. I work in the challenging and gratifying field of education and often find myself spending my limited free time "working". I think it would be safe to say that my tastes have changed. I prefer spending time alone rather than going out just for the sake of it - I still love being with people but my quiet time has become precious. I do find myself giving more thought as to how I'm living my life. Obedience? Faith? Love? All so easy and yet so hard sometimes. Thank God for the gift of peace that accompanies us along this path. And yes, my taste in men has undergone an incredible transformation as well. I'm no longer searching for the lovable rogue but the surrendered saint! I hope you are out there somewhere. You will need to be rich in patience!!

I'm easy going, no fuss kind of girl. Practical most of the time but I like things nice and done properly. I enjoy spending time with family and friends but I also like having my alone time. Reading and wandering around town take up most of my free time nowadays. I do love to bake but that has been put to a stop since I do not have an oven in my current apartment. I love to cook and make up dishes depending on my cravings. I enjoy life and live it in the best way I can. I've learned that it is useless to be mad or sad over something. It would be better if you just try to find a way to make things better. I grew up in a Catholic family and went to Catholic schools. I appreciate the way both my parents together with my schools have moulded me. Because of them, I have my faith and a deep love for family. Moving from the Philippines, surrounded with practicing and faithful catholics, to Italy, has been very difficult, almost hopeless, for me to find someone with the same beliefs as I do.

Hello! I love nature, simple things, all of the arts and architecture; I like walking to discover new places or simply to listen to the wind and have the sun all around me :) I am social, creative, fun, cheerful person. But I prefer to keep talking to a person, I do not like to spend too much time on the computer!
