Hello out there !! Facts first, I guess --- I have 2 sons, 1 daughter, 7 grandchildren and 1 on the way. Two of my children are from my first marriage which ended in divorce after 7 years. That marriage was annulled and I remarried in the Catholic church 3 years later to a wonderful man who had 4 children by his first marriage (divorced/annulled). We had one child in 1980. We were married 28 years when he died in 2006. I am the 3rd of 6 children - sandwiched between 2 sets of twins. I was born in NY and moved to Baton Rouge as a child. I graduated from LSU in Secondary Education (business/journalism) and worked for a local chemical company for 24 years in various marketing/finance jobs. I've been retired since 1997, but went back to work part-time for a few years because I had too much time on my hands. I also volunteer weekly at a local hospital and am currently the treasurer of the auxiliary. I love to be around people. Am very organized, detailed and independent; and I manage my own home and all financial dealings. I love to travel. I love mountains and great scenery. I vacationed in a travel trailer for 25 years and saw many parts of the USA. I square danced for 25+ years and like to play cards and games. I love dogs and for many, many years we had a Dachshund and a Sheltie. I have a great sense of humor and like to have a good time. I am in charge of all parts of my life, but find myself looking for company. I am a Eucharistic Minister at my parish church, help do the grunt work on the decor committee and work at the Parish Festival every year.

I am a mom, friend, and teacher. I have three daughters and four grandchildren who I see frequently. I come from a traditional Catholic family, and I am currently a reader for Sunday Mass. My extended family gets together on holidays, and several times a year. I teach English IV (Senior English), and I truly love being part of my students' lives during this very special time as they walk their own life journeys. I enjoy reading, cooking, and walking my two dogs. It seems there is never enough time to travel. I have been to Europe a couple of times, and I hope to return in the next several years. I enjoy being on the go, but also quiet time at home. I am looking for someone who also enjoys a wide range of activities. Maybe that person is you.

I am a very active 78 years old. I lost the love of my life to Cancer in 2009 and moved from Arizona back to Baton Rouge, LA to be near my very large family. I live alone and am very independent though I prefer not to drive at night. My Faith and my family are my strength. I am employed 4 days a week as a relief manager. I enjoy going to cultural and musical events, visiting new areas just walking or driving around, going to a nice restaurant (not expensive) for lunch or dinner and cooking for visitors - usually family. I am also quite content to spend a day home sewing. Not much of a yard person, but I do get out and take care of trimming and weed ing when necessary.

I am a retired mechanical engineer. At the time of my retirement in 2014, I was the Turnaround and Reliability Manager at a chemical manufacturer. I enjoy travel, both in the US and abroad. My most memorable vacations have been those that expose me to different regions or cultures. A trip to Medugorje in 2014 resulted in a deepening of my Catholic faith. Family is important to me. My parents are both deceased, but I am close to my siblings. I have four stepchildren and 7 grandchildren by my deceased husband that are very much part of my family. In my leisure time I enjoy spending time with family and friends and quilting.

I grew up in a small, rural village where services were provided by the parish. I was the last daughter and the second to last child in a family with 8 children. Our home was one of four in the middle of sugar cane fields and swamps in Southeast Louisiana. I once counted and remembered nine windows on the East side of our house. From each of these nine windows, plus the view from both porches (front and back), was a great view of Our Lady of Peace Roman Catholic Church. It was nothing to walk the .1 mile to the church for morning and Sunday Masses. The Catholic Church made a huge impact on my life. I enjoyed living in the country and never planned to leave Vacherie. However, I knew in order to find work, I'd have to leave there. I took a bus to New Orleans where I applied for one job and niavely expected to get it. I eventually did, but that's a story for our conversations. I met my first husband there and with him, got to know more of the USA. I worked in offices and eventually became a legal secretary, having worked for law firms for 20+ years. After returning to Louisiana, my husband's deteriorating health finally took his life. I loved him deeply and we enjoyed our life together. He admired my independence and continued to cooperate with my thirst for knowledge and need to learn about anything and everything I wanted to. I also enjoyed sharing in his interests like dairy goat farming and more! After he passed away, I married again. This time to someone I'd known since I was in junior high. He was a devout Catholic and inspired me with his faith and his determination to stay on a diet that was best for him. With this second husband a lot of time was spent laughing and enjoying searching for the music of our youth and movies. We particularly like to watch Jeopardy together. His health wasn't the best when we married. In spite of that, we had eight wonderful years together. I'm an animal lover and over the years have had cats to share the household with. I like dogs as well and quickly make friends with dogs belonging to friends and family. Since returning to Vacherie, a large part of my time has been spent with family. I enjoy seeing them for visits, going out for meals together, helping those who are in need of help and in turn, receiving help from them. I've had 5 stepchildren and continue to receive a lot of joy being involved in each of their and their children's lives as I can. They've been so good to me and I love them.
