YIkes..this thing changes your age for you! Ok, so today is my birthday. I'm all of 59 and thank God that I am alive to see this day. The last few years sure have been an interesting ride with ups and downs and many prayers to God to help me on my way. I feel that I'm on the upswing now and so glad that the trials I've been through are coming to an end. There is nothing like a huge health scare to set you straight in your ways. I am so grateful for what I have in my life, 2 wonderful sons with beautiful wives and a wonderful granddaughter (and nooooo..she is not spoiled by me....much). I cherish what God has given me in my life, accepted the changes that have been made (not all by my doing either) and try to find the good in all that is out there. I"ve been told that when you stop worrying and looking feverishly for someone to come into your life, that is when it will happen. I figure now, I'll sit back and see what happens. I'll continue to be me, happy with the world and all my surroundings, no matter what the outcome. God is good--all the time! Update..this was written on Dec 26, which is my birthday..lol...i should have clarified this when i originally wrote it.

I'm a fiery Irish gal who works as a social worker with the mentally ill for the county where I live. I am currently living in my own apartment and my two sons are grown and out on their own living wonderful lives. I have three granddaughters and they are all amazing little girls who have spirit like their grandma! I hold a bachelor's degree in Social Work from EMU and I also have a Master's Degree in Divinity. I was an ordained clergy in Methodist tradition before my son died in an accident and I lost my faith. I converted to Catholicism in 2000. I left the church for a few years due to our priest admitting to sexual abuse and returned to the faith 3 years ago. I am very devoted to Mary., I like praying the rosary. I have a beautiful statue of Our Lady of Lourdes in my apartment. Sadly I was yelled at by a priest so that burned me and I haven't felt good in church since. I do attend another church but I don't have friends there. I have a panic disorder and sometimes have to leave Mass early. I'm too afraid of being hurt again to make friends. I go on Saturday afternoon when I can. I don't go weekly, sometimes I skip for a while if I'm too anxious to go. I used to smoke but am completely quit for one year. I enjoy travel (went to Dublin Ireland for 5 days 3 years ago) and I am very extroverted. I love to socialize, and enjoy Buzztime Trivia with a beer at Buffalo Wild Wings. I also enjoy reading my Kindle and Nook tablet, watching cable TV, and chatting online. I am totally into Barnes and Noble and go every Friday to get my free Nook book. I love the atmosphere and love to read. I am a die hard Guinness beer fan and I love to watch college football (especially U of M) and baseball on TV. GO TIGERS! I also love the beach, picnics, cooking, and writing in my blog. I have this dream of being a world famous blog author but I enjoy it regardless of who reads it. I am an immaculate housekeeper and collect lighthouses. All I need is a special someone to make my life complete. My annulment was approved by the Lansing Diocese in June of 2012.

I'm 68 years old. mother to a daughter and son and grandmother to 5 grand-daughters. I'm active in my church, and do a bit of volunteer wook. I like going up to,my sons cabin near Roger City. Getting up in the morning and sitting on the deck with a hot cup of coffee and listening to the loons is so peaceful. I like to fish, and watch the kids out on the lake with the jet skies and the motor boat. My son takes us all out when it gets dark on the pontoon boat, can't believe all the stars up there!! I like to do things, such as reading(mysteries are my favorite) knitting and ceramics. In the warm weather I love to garden. I try to keep busy with my friends doing such things as eating out, going to the movies, in summer listening to out door concerts. Using my bike, for enjoyment and exercise. I belive eating right and exercise are 2 of the most important things to a long healthy life. I work out with a trainer 3 times a week. I guess any more about me will just come about in conversation.

    1) Very into my Catholic faith. Without it, I would be lost. There is nothing I love more than experiencing Christ in the Eucharist. 2) Love kids! They're so funny, and I believe that sometimes you just need to talk to a three year old to understand life again. 3) I love laughing. Making people laugh, people making me laugh, it's the best kind of therapy. (Next to camping.) 4) I'm pretty outdoorsy. I love camping, fishing, road-tripping, hiking, and taking pictures outside; And I'm obsessed with baseball. The Detroit Tigers have my heart, and brownie points if you love them too. (Also, I'm 100% a dog person.)

Hello, my name is Amanda. I tend to be a pretty laid-back person most of the time. I am a little shy at first, but once I get to know someone I can be pretty silly and goofy. I love to laugh, but I can be serious when I need to be. Most people who know me would describe me as kind, caring and willing to put others before myself, which can get me into trouble at times. I try to enjoy life and make of the most of any situation. My faith, my son, and spending time with family and friends are top priorities for me. I enjoy being outdoors and near the water, and anything that has to do with boats. I like traveling and learning about new places or trying new things. I like to stay busy, but sometimes I just want to stay at home and watch a movie or read a good book.
