  • Christy, 28 from Wyoming, MI
    28, Wyoming, MI
I am a graduate of Aquinas College working at Spectrum Health doing administrative work. I am passionate about working hard, languages (I was an English and Spanish major), and it may sound naive, but helping people. I love working with our patients, remembering their names, and working to help them (especially non-English speaking patients who are often overlooked or passed over.) Travel completes me. In college, I completed two study abroad trips-one to Spain and one to Ireland. I still visit Ireland every year, and I keep in touch with my Spanish host family periodically. I believe that travel allowed me the opportunity to fully discover my independence, and it guided me to truly trust God's plan for me. I feel most alive and most myself while traveling. I love dancing, singing (albeit not well), museums, music, theatre, and anything cultural. I love pushing my mind (and body) to appreciate things that are new and exciting. I also appreciate Disney movies and spending time doing nostalgic things from my childhood. I maintain that it keeps me young and fun. I am the oldest of five children, and I can be protective and overly-nurturing sometimes (Yes, I can admit it). My mom is my best friend, and my siblings and dad are not far behind. We are very closely knit. We fight like cats and dogs (and about the stupidest things), but we love each other and will do anything to protect each other. I am very involved in my church. I love the fellowship I experience. There is the one elderly man that sits by the door that I look forward to waving to every weekend as I walk in. I think it a very special honor and responsibility to proclaim the Word and distribute the Eucharist at Mass. My life would not be the same without growing up participating in the Mass.

I enjoy sharing my faith with other people. Friendship plays an essential role in my life, I stand up for my friends any time they need me. • Candace, 55 from Sparta, MI
    55, Sparta, MI
I am passionate about being Catholic, that is why I am here on CatholicMatch. To share our faith by attending Mass and praying together is such an important part of a relationship. Everyday is a gift for us to enjoy. Leisure time is spent outdoors doing a wide variety of activities...biking, kayaking, skiing (water, downhill, cross-country) hiking, camping, fishing. I workout at the gym (yoga, weight training, running, Zumba) about 5 days a week. I feel that it is important to be healthy in Mind, Body and Spirit. I am a very positive person that loves life.
  • Amy, 56 from Rockford, MI
    56, Rockford, MI
Well, three years ago last month (June 2013), strange physical symptoms started appearing which eventually were diagnosed as a very rare auto-immune disease (it's not contagious). I've been battling the disease since then but have been in remission now for about six months. I have to say, it really whooped my butt for a long time, but I'm doing much better now. However, since I was on steroids for so long (currently tapering slowly), I've gained weight. Many people don't even recognize me. But I am tapering on the steroids and the weight is coming off. My life has changed quite a bit. I used to be a runner and was quite active. I now can't do as much as I used to as I get tired much easier than before. So I'd say a good match for me would be someone who prefers a slower lifestyle. My Catholic faith is so very important to me. Going through what I went through, I can say that my Catholic friends were right there by my side making sure I had everything I needed and prayed with me and for me the whole time. Being single going through this, I was so very grateful for my family and my friends. If it's God's will, I would sure like to find someone who would like to spend time with me and share each other's lives. I will post a before picture (before my illness) so you can see what I look like without the weight and before this illness struck. I live near a lake, so I like to get out on it kayaking and floating. I like to sit outside with my Beagle and read. I can finally ride my bike again, so I enjoy going on bike rides. I love going to plays and movies and just spend quiet evenings at home. I also love to travel. This summer includes two vacations in the U.S. (both coasts).
