I hate describing myself! But here it goes, independent, easy going, a bit shy when you 1st meet me, love kids but don't have any of my own. I moved to Michigan in 2002 & since I have no family in the immediate area I travel a lot. Road trips, wine tasting, theater, movies, books & music are a few things I like to do in my spare time. I also enjoy nature; camping, fishing & just taking walks, but since I don't have a lot of friends around that enjoy that, I don't do those things as much as I would like. I enjoy staying active in my parish by teaching CCD and attending various lectures. Since I have recently purchased my 1st home I have been spending spare time doing yard and house work. Even though I do not have any family in the immediate area I do have a wonderful group of friends that have become my extended family.

Hi there, and welcome to my profile! I am not a big fan of this site as I seem to mostly get emoticons/emails/views from men 10+ years my senior! I am interested in men 38-49 ONLY, and probably won't be joining again unless I find someone of interest around my age. I work in the healthcare field and love my job. I enjoy being active and love to run/workout, golf, snowboard, bike, cook, and spend time with family and friends. I have an amazing life, and am definitely blessed....just hoping to find that special someone to share these blessings with.

I am passionate about learning interesting things and talking about them with others. I love engaging in creative projects. Moving away to the university was a major turning point in my life. I learned how to grow up and be responsible. My college education and my employment history has taught me about the good and bad that is part of this world. My parents by far are the most influential people in my life. My younger brother and my paternal grandma are/were also very important in molding my character. In order to relax I like to grab a cup of coffee and go on a car ride or just sit a shoot the breeze with a friend. I listen to 80's music anywhere from R & B to rock. I have grown to like smooth jazz. I like to garden and take photos. Lastly I love to travel.

.About me... I am a constant 'work in progress'. I take joy in that fact. Always evolving, learning new things, and open to different ideas. This is what keeps life interesting. I'm honest, generous, compassionate, strong, intelligent, passionate, and imperfect. I am confident in the person I am and what I have to offer to a partner. I'm not willing to settle for less than someone who sees the same in themselves, and in me. Good luck in your search!
  • Irene, 76 from Kalamazoo, MI
    76, Kalamazoo, MI
My name is Irene and for the last 8 years I have lived in Kalamazoo, MI. Prior to living here, I lived in Midland, MI where I was born and raised on a farm. I am the 11th of 12 children of Slovak decent. My father came to the US in 1914 and my mother came to 1920. They both came from Lipnica which is now in Poland instead of Slovakia, I graduated from high school in 1959; worked as a secretary at the Dow Chemical Company for two years; then when to the U. of M. for the dental hygienist program. After working for several years, I stayed home to raise my children. I have owned 4 home based businesses & still work out of my home. I am widowed and have 4 children; two daughters that are married & have two children each. My two sons are not married. My family is the most important thing in my life & I try to spend as much time as possible with them. Two grandsons are adopted & one was born with multiple birth problems so I do spend as much time as I can helping out. I try to go to daily Mass & lector on Sundays as well as during the week. My favorite saint is St. Joan of Arc. Joan is my middle name so I have been friends with her for a long time. Plus she was a fighter & over the years I have had to lean on her to help me raise 4 children on my own after my husband died when the children were 7, 9, 14, & 17. I have been anti-abortion all my life. However, the prayers really intensified when my daughter found out they were not able to have children & tried to adopt. They were told that unwed mothers were either aborting the babies or keeping them themselves. So to have two adopted grandsons is a real blessing. Among my favorite pastimes are reading, walking, going out to eat, trying new foods as well as dancing, making scrape books, putting together photo albums & traveling. My favorite singer is Pavarotti, I like all kinds of music except hard rock. My favorite movie is The Passion of Christ. I also like to usher at the Civic center. Three yrs ago I started to search for our ancestors & have found ~100 of them in Poland, Slovakia, Austria & S Africa.

Hi there. I'm Jessica. I'm a warmhearted person who enjoys spending time with my family and friends. I enjoy swimming and being by the water, as well as watching movies and reading. I am currently working on my Bachelors and working full time. I grew up on the outskirts of Kalamazoo and attended catholic schools, from elementary through high school. During the school year I have an apartment by Western's campus but summer allows more free time, so I live with my family and pets.

I look for ways to keep learning - about myself and others. I am a voracious reader (non-fiction, with occasional dips into fiction). When I go for a bike ride/walk, I enjoy looking at new plants and taking photos. I'm no expert at kayaking, but find it very peaceful to glide down a nearby river. I make it a point to immerse myself in a community and explore new areas when my work takes me out of town. I love music - I've been known to break into dancing at the sound of a great tune!

I'm interested in meeting someone with a good sense of humor,( that is most important), who likes to do new things. I'm enjoy in learning new things too. Growing up I was most influenced by my father and grandparents. I want to be in the warmer weather in the winter and need to be near the water. In the past, I haven't had much leisure time because work has occupied most of my time.

Hello. A little about me. I am from a large family, the oldest of 7 children. I have 3 children of my own, 2 sons and my beautiful daughter. All are married or in a committed relationship. So far, I am the proud grandma of 8, 5 by blood and 3 by love. I am divorced but maintain a friendly relationship with the kid's dad for their sake and that of the grandchildren. I have not yet begun the process for annulment but am not adverse to it. In fact, I am not yet in full communion with the Church. I am in RCIA now, after many years of weighing the decision to convert. My faith is extremely important to me and it seems I can't learn enough to suit me. It would be very important that a future partner share that faith and joy. I am a retired RN although I dd not retire by choice. A knee replacement surgery went very wrong 5 years ago, leaving me with a paralyzed left lower leg. I must use a cane to walk and have problems with my balance (an occasional fall just keeps life interesting). Because of this, I had to give up my home and move into the family home with my mother, my oldest and his wife and their 4 children. It makes for a very lively and often loud and confusing life. While I miss working, I always wanted to be at home with my kids as they grew up and now, I get to watch the grandchildren grow. While I am disabled, I am still productive. I have always loved to cook (and my daughter-in-law doesn't) so that is my contribution to the household. I also keep a small flock of hens for eggs. I also enjoy some travel. Two years ago, the oldest 2 grandsons and I traveled to WA, camping and site-seeing along the way. On our way home, we met up with my youngest brother and his family and spent some time with them on the Snake River and they introduced us to white-water rafting! What a rush! I am an animal person. Large digs are not my favorite but small dogs, cats, birds, rabbits, even cows and sheep are favorites. I do have 1 small dog and 1 cat at present although I will probably acquire another kitty soon as I just had one "cross over the Rainbow Bridge". My family can't decide if I'm one cat shy of being a crazy cat lady or one cat over. While I am not actively searching for a partner, if one comes along, I am open to a relationship and would certainly pursue an annulment of my marriage to make possible a long-term relationship. So that's me in a nutshell. If you're interested, don't hesitate to contact me

After retirement from 25 years federal service, I am most passionate about the next chapter in my life. I now have time to focus on my spirituality, my friends and family. I use my quiet time in the morning to pray and focus on what God is telling me. I spent 20 years being a soldier's wife, raising a son and a daughter, making new homes in the many places the Army sent us, while carving out my own career with the U.S. government. I loved my time in Germany, and I spent my time there wisely. I went to all those places most people often dream about: Paris, Rome, London, Budapest, Florence, and more. My most memorable time was the bus trip to Lourdes, France. As I watched the Anointing of the Sick, I felt God's presence as I never had before. I would love to see it all again! Maybe I will! Since retirement, I fill my days with quilting, cooking, water aerobics, biking and kayaking. I truly enjoy life, and I thank God every morning for giving me another day!

I am passionate about my relationship with the Holy Trinity. I am passionate about my children; they are my everything! It is important to me to take care of my health and going to the gym is an big component of that. I like helping others whether that is through a kind word , gentle encouragement , listening or actively doing something concrete. I love to travel but have not been able to do much of that in past years. I love being around horses and boats but I don't own either. I have three daughters two of whom still live with me, one is still in high school. I started my family later in life. All three of my children are African American. They own my heart. I have three dogs which is two too many but I love them any way! I have a cooking impairment! I haven't dated in a long time due to being a single parent and recently due to health issues. I'd like to make a friend. If that leads to a serious relationship and marriage that is great! But I definitely want to start out as friends and get to know each other before jumping into a relationship.
