I am a very positive, caring, confident, sincere person who has spent most of the last ten years devoted to bringing up my four beautiful children on my own. I am very proud of each and every one of them. Two of which have already graduated from college and have both found very successful jobs. I have another that has graduated from Grand Valley and working and also going for her MBA and I just moved my youngest to college in the Fall. So needless to say, I have been pretty busy but finding more time for myself and thought it might be a good time to meet a positive, caring person like myself. My family is very important to me. I have learned not to sweat the small things.Friends play a big role in my life and enjoy spending time with them.I am thinking about joining but in the meantime have been found to do plenty of fishing.

I enjoy cards, board games, game shows. I love camping in my Winnebago (overnight or a month at a time in Florida, or anywhere my mood and the weather might take me), hiking, riding my bike, paddling around in my kayak. Mostly I drive alone, but some of my kids have RVs so we meet up when they travel. After almost 30 years of managing some Detroit properties, I'm finally retired. I'm a bargain-hunter so I like garage sales and finding nearly free activities to enjoy. After I got my degree, I was a computer coder until I had too many kids. My husband of 40 years passed away in 2005 after 6 years in a coma. I have 4 sons, 4 daughters, with 20th grandchild expected in August, 2017. One son and his family live in North Carolina, but everyone else is nearby. Although I did a quick update here, I still need to find time to update pictures-- that takes longer

I was raised in a loving family along with three other siblings, two sisters and one brother. My parents valued education very much, so we all received a good education. They took us on summer vacations every year for at least one week to many parts of the United States and Canada. They instilled in me the importance of maintaining close bonds with all of our family members and relatives. To be honest, probably the major reason why I am still single is because I devoted my life to helping my parents in their elderly years. I consider myself an extremely warm, compassionate, and caring person. Both of my parents lived their last years in an assisted living facility where I frequently visited and cared for them. In my leisure time I enjoy walking, exercising, dancing, golfing and playing volleyball. People say that I don't even look my age, and that I look a lot younger. I feel a lot younger, too. I've taken good care of my health. I've always been a very active person and like to go places and do things. I enjoy going to museums, concerts, and plays. I like watching movies at a theater or at home. I also like traveling. I take a vacation at least once a year. I have been to Boston, Chicago, Portland, Oregon, San Francisco, Charleston, South Carolina, Rapid City, South Dakota, the Great Smokey Mountain National Park, and many others. I usually go with a travel club or with friends. Lastly, a major component of who I am is my interest in helping people. I teach in a GED Program at the Dominican Literacy Center in Detroit one day a week, besides my regular teaching job. I teach high school subjects to people, who have dropped out and now they are in their 30's, 40's, and 50's and want to have a more productive life. I have volunteered to prepare a meal at the Detroit Rescue Mission around Thanksgiving. In addition, I have helped at a food bank to pack dry food for baskets for the less fortunate. . .

I have always been passionate about dancing. I teach line dancing three days a week and take tap lessons. We, the Dancing Grannies, tap dance at all the local nursing homes as our Christian endeavor. I had my children later in life and feel they have kept me young for my years. I have six grandchildren, but my first is an angel. Both my son and daughter have a set of twins, one boy ans one girl.
  • Monica, 69 from Muskegon, MI
    69, Muskegon, MI
Since I retired, I enjoy the little things like being able to actually sit down in the morning with a cup of coffee and read a paper from end to end. I enjoy reading (a book with actual pages) but find it necessary to get off the couch and go for a walk every day. I'm an animal person, currently controlled by a very spoiled cat. I love gardening but don't mind sharing it with the deer and rabbits who think I have planted a buffet for them. I like to cook and bake but I never follow a recipe; they are only suggestions and I like to add my own twist to anything that comes out of my kitchen. When I'm not doing the domestic thing, I can be found in the gym. I very much enjoy volunteering at our local food pantry which I do twice a week. I own my home, am financially secure, and I can balance the checkbook! I'm adjusting ever so gradually to the loss of my husband of 36 years. I believe I can do this with faith, support of my family and viewing each day as a gift.
  • Sylvia, 74 from Washington Township, MI
    74, Washington Township, MI
I'm looking forward to sharing time with someone that is independent, thoughtful, caring, compassionate, intelligent, and well-informed. I am retired from an executive position where I was able to travel and meet high-leveled individuals. Without a doubt, my parents are the individuals that were most influential in my life. I enjoy shopping for antiques at flea markets, antique shops, and tag sales to find that special something that calls out to me. I enjoy reading, watching the History Channel, sewing, gardening, and classic cars.
  • Margaret, 70 from Davison, MI

I am most passionate about my faith and family. When I mention family, this also includes close friends whom I consider as my extended family. At times, when you have these type of friends, they offer direct input , as with family they are afraid of hurting your feelings, since we are blood related., and will hold back. I like to be treated up front and too the point. I always want a plan B option on a decisions !!As importance goes, this is where I come back around to faith and family, just as my wrist tattoo shows. When I look down at these two important words, I breath in and know this is the affirmation where my life is! Since I am now on my own with home ownership, and all it includes. I also faithfully go to the gym 3 times a week, watch my diet, yet still go out. Love the live stage, musical concerts, and the lighter symphonies , playing cards, swap meets, antiquing, gardening, travel, fishing, museums , casinos and used book stores. Outside sports I prefer to be a spectator ! Have thought about possibly trying golf! Gosh, there must be something I can chatter about. Do like animals, and at present I am being broken in as a new mom for rescue cat named Mina, who has me wrapped around her little paw. I am a true fan of Starbucks, and totally in love with my Pandora station, at home or in car! Gosh, it seems like I should spark an interest to someone. I am a devout Catholic, but not about to go door to door! Attend classes frequently at church to enrichen my faith. Cooking I do, but so so. Do occasionally like a mead wine!

I love to live life to the fullest. I enjoy going camping, canoeing, pretty much anything to do with traveling and outdoors. My dad influenced me to take every drop of life and cherish it each day. Visiting friends, antiquing, garage sales, swimming and campfires whenever possible is what i do in my leisure time.
