48, Lake Placid, NYSome essential characteristics I am drawn to in others... Communication: It's open and easy. There is an overlap of ideas and an exciting exchange of words and laughter; we talk about both serious and silly stuff. A living faith: a sense that our behaviors and thoughts at every moment of the day are prayers, living testimony to our beliefs and our desire to do what is right and good. Church is not the only place we meet God. Honesty: You dislike hypocrisy and lies, and seek the truth even it is difficult or unpleasant. A sense of culture: you appreciate technology but are not tethered to it; heritage of people and places in small doses is enjoyable. Camaraderie: You can help me grow in faith and love of life, accepting what can not be changed and forging new paths through struggles...... If we can find these things in each other, many other good things should follow: we'll be good with kids and elderly; know how to balance work and play; enjoy nature and art; and will help guide each other towards heaven. P.S. About contraception: If I was 25 meeting "Mr. Right," I'd be all for only NFP. My concern is with regards to change of life irregularities affecting NFP, and the risk of childhood abnormalities with a first pregnancy late in life. I know we are supposed to be open to whatever God sends our way, but I also feel it is somewhat irresponsible to have sexual relations in your 40's and not recognize the increased risk of Downs, etc. and then if I we had a Down's child pass this off as "it must be God's will." In a funny way I ask maybe it was God's will to not have sex! ;) Not easy issues. We have to be realistic, discuss this, and then take responsibilities for our actions and consequences.
37, Waddington, NYI am an adventurous, fun-loving, caring single woman with a deep commitment to traditional Catholic values. My experiences in the Peace Corps and Americorps have contributed to my love of travel, ethnic foods, and serving others. I love to dance and do yoga (I know, controversial - I'm open to discussion). A healthy, natural lifestyle is important to me. I love good conversation with friends, strong coffee and good wine (though neither on a daily basis), and spending time with family. I think life is exciting. For as long as I can remember I have wanted to experience everything (within reason). This coupled with a strong inclination toward service has enabled me to live in a number of places throughout the US and the world. I try to live somewhat like a tourist wherever I am, and I'm always open for adventure, big or small (pretty much everything is an adventure in my book, especially if there's someone to share the event with). I easily connect with people, but I find family to be the most important ones in my life. I was raised in the Catholic Church and have always loved my faith, but in the last few years I have gained a deeper appreciation for the roots of Catholicism steeped in mystery and tradition. Through this, I have also embraced femininity and modesty (I adore vintage clothes). I enjoy learning about random things (but I'm no good at Jeopardy). Other major likes include travel (obviously), dance (all kinds- I think ballroom dancing should be part of High school curriculum), and wandering through flea markets. I also enjoy being outside in nature and in most cases would rather walk than ride (in any weather). I love running around barefoot, but like slipping on some sassy heels. I enjoy cooking (international, or just making it up), but I'll take a fancy restaurant or a hole in the wall if its good! I do place great importance on health, especially through food, but I am not rigid. While what I have said may make me sound worldly, I am actually more drawn to a simple life. I have been blessed with continuing and even strengthening faith where others have lost theirs (a sad side effect of international work, I've observed). I have lead a wonderful life thus far, but it turns out it's hard to find a good match in this confused, disconnected world, and one's faith deeply matters. By the way, I don't have internet access at home (so if I don't answer right away, that's why)!
57, Watertown, NYI lead a simple life. I enjoy having my coffee and reading my newspaper or online news. I am close to my family and I have a nice circle of friends. I am blessed to have many caring people in my life. My faith is very important to me. I gain strength from God and he is by my side all the time. I hope to meet a sincere and faithful man.
63, Lowville, NYI'm a single Mom with two sons, one son will be married in January and the other is a Massage Therapist in Arizona and Colorado. I recently finished my Master's degree in Literacy and purchased a home. I put my Faith first, then my family and friends and then interests. I'm hoping to find someone who is a traditional Catholic, puts others first especially family and friends, and able to be spontaneous and open to life's surprises with a positive attitude with a smile that will melt my heart. Love spending time in good conversation, having a glass of wine in front of a crackling fire!
63, Black River, NYI graduated from high school in 1971 and went straight to college. I quit college after 3 semesters and went to work for South Central Bell Telephone Company for 2 years. I entered the Army as a Musician in the Women's Army Corps (WAC) Band. I stayed there through the retiring of the WAC flag when the women were integrated into the Army. I transferred to Hawaii, Louisiana, Indiana, Virginia, Germany, Tennessee, Kentucky, New York, Korea, and Texas before retiring from the Army Band Field and returning to the Fort Drum area in NY to settle as an Army Retiree. Here I attend St Michael's Parish/Catholic Community on Ft Drum and attended RCIA in 2005/2006 and was baptised and confirmed during Easter Vigil Mass 2006. Fr. Jonathan Morse confirmed me. It was a high point in my life. I sing in the choir (and play my flute occasionally) for Saturday evening and Sunday Morning Masses. Going to Mass every week is the high point of my week. I also attend weekday Masses as often as I can.
46, Winthrop, NYHi! If you like adventure, spontaneity, and living life to the fullest, I'm the girl for you! You must love family, to love and laugh. And you must love animals!
44, Ogdensburg, NYI am friendly, energetic, passionate, persistent and a strong female. I am looking for a committed, long- term relationship. Someone to spend the rest of my life with that is my best friend. Looking for someone that has a great sense of humor and enjoys life. I enjoy romantic dinners, going to the movies, boating, hiking, kayaking, running and going for walks. My parents have been the most influential in my life. I am very close to my family. I attend church weekly and my faith is extremely important to me. I am currently pursuing my nursing degree.
25, Watertown, NYI'm just checking this out. Catholic my whole life. I work full time and have had no luck in finding someone to spend some off time with. Chat with me for a while and let's see how it goes.
24, Lake Placid, NYI am an athletic, energetic, and happy 24 year old who loves to spend time with my family, be outside, and be active! My Catholic faith is at the heart of whatever I do and wherever I go and when I go on a trip, the first thing I look up is the local Mass schedule! I am the oldest of four children and we have an energetic puppy named Mia. I am passionate about my faith, my family, living a healthy and active lifestyle, the French language and culture, and my job helping those who need medical care. I love cross country ski racing and skiing in general as well as hiking, biking, triathlons, running, and almost any form of exercise and outdoor fun. In my leisure time, I love to make music by singing or playing the violin.
68, Putnam Station, NYWell, I had finished introducing myself, had to go to another site and when I returned here all that I had written were gone. So now an abbreviated version: I was actually writing this from my booth at a craft fair, so it's safe to assume that I'm "crafty". I love horses and horse back riding and have toyed with the idea of leasing a horse (yes, you really can lease a horse-lol). I enjoy murder mystery novels such as written by Patterson and Agatha Christie. My all time favorite DVD is Murder on the Orient Express (Christie). I also tutor for the Literacy Volunteers and I am in 2 choirs - one in my church. I enjoy traveling. Now that I am retired I have plenty of leisure time, but travel is restricted by a limited budget (bummer). I love the beauty and serenity of the Adirondacks or what we call "the north country". The disadvantage is that everything such as stores are so far away. For example, for me to get a quart of milk, it's a 20 mile round trip!
53, Massena, NYI work full time. I like to go for drives, shopping, restaurants or just stay home relaxing, cooking, watching tv, going for walks in my free time.
