Some essential characteristics I am drawn to in others... Communication: It's open and easy. There is an overlap of ideas and an exciting exchange of words and laughter; we talk about both serious and silly stuff. A living faith: a sense that our behaviors and thoughts at every moment of the day are prayers, living testimony to our beliefs and our desire to do what is right and good. Church is not the only place we meet God. Honesty: You dislike hypocrisy and lies, and seek the truth even it is difficult or unpleasant. A sense of culture: you appreciate technology but are not tethered to it; heritage of people and places in small doses is enjoyable. Camaraderie: You can help me grow in faith and love of life, accepting what can not be changed and forging new paths through struggles...... If we can find these things in each other, many other good things should follow: we'll be good with kids and elderly; know how to balance work and play; enjoy nature and art; and will help guide each other towards heaven. P.S. About contraception: If I was 25 meeting "Mr. Right," I'd be all for only NFP. My concern is with regards to change of life irregularities affecting NFP, and the risk of childhood abnormalities with a first pregnancy late in life. I know we are supposed to be open to whatever God sends our way, but I also feel it is somewhat irresponsible to have sexual relations in your 40's and not recognize the increased risk of Downs, etc. and then if I we had a Down's child pass this off as "it must be God's will." In a funny way I ask maybe it was God's will to not have sex! ;) Not easy issues. We have to be realistic, discuss this, and then take responsibilities for our actions and consequences.

I enjoy exercising and playing tennis. My favorite season is the summer and going to the beach. I consider myself easy going. I love to laugh, going out to dinner or just relaxing at home.

Hi! I'm family oriented, love to be around people, enjoy cooking, traveling, and being outdoors. I work as a Speech Therapist in a school. I love to spend time shopping, reading, decorating my home and taking photographs of nature.

What am I passionate about? Family, spending time with children, education, theatre, music, fitness. My parents were both very strong personalities, and strong in their faith, and it has been my good fortune to be a recipient of those qualities. My extended family were quite present the 1st 10 years of my life, and those who are still alive - and their offspring- for the most part, hold a special place in my heart. One of my early childhood teachers, a nun who ran the lower school program which I attended, was enormously influential as well. Leisure time?? Leisure time.....when I have it..... exercising, theatre, opera, movies, or just spending time with my nephews.

Living each day trying to make the world a little kinder. I initially went to school for theology, but now I'm a librarian who geeks out about the Dewey decimal system, public service, and second-person pronouns in Shakespeare. Book jacket blurb: "You wanna be Lawful Good, don't you. You're the worst." --My brother, helping me roll my first DnD character. Talents include looking silly while trying to help strangers, cheering people up with small gestures, and getting through life without an ironing board. I've also been known to stalk cool-looking birds for several blocks in order to take blurry cell phone pictures of them.

I am a practicing Occupational Therapist. I love what I do - it is hard at times but extremely rewarding. My family is everything to me - I have three brothers and 6 nieces and nephews whom I adore. You could say I am pretty crazy about cats. I have four of my own and have volunteered with various animal rescues in the past. I grew up Catholic and my faith is a huge part of my life. My parents have probably been the most influential people in my life. No matter how hard it got for them, they always stuck it out and taught me perseverance, dedication, and love. In my 20's, I had a hard time connecting with my faith/the church. I have had various events happen in my last the past few years and I have since reconnected with my faith and God. I really enjoy going out just as much as staying in. I love trying new things and would say I am somewhat adventurous. I love sic/fi and fantasy movies in addition to action/adventure. I really love anything to do with Marvel/The Avengers, Mass Effect (video game - better than star wars, play it you'll agree. If not then we will agree to disagree), the ocean, traveling, coffee, eating seafood, being a homebody with my cats, baking/cooking, and continually finding new things to do. I also love tattoos and I have four of them as I think it is an amazing expression of oneself.

My happiness is traveling around the world. I'm a child at heart. I'm nature lover and dog lover too. I love to learn and explore new things. I'm open-minded, understanding, positive thinker and knows what I want in life. I love to joke and laugh with my partner. I'm shy at first (I'm introvert) but when I get comfortable with that person I easily trust and open up. I'm not a perfect person but I have a very strong faith in God. I always trust my instincts and God's plan for me. I believe that we don't meet people by accident. Everyone is meant to cross our path for a reason. "Good things come to those who wait."

I believe myself to be a person who is genuine, warm, open-minded, and passionate (whether it be passion with regard to relationships, or passion about a topic which is important to me). In fact, passionate discussion which leads to a "battle of wits" is often welcome ;) Despite my enthusiasm for exciting conversation, I also know the value of down time where heated debates take a back seat to simple relaxation. In this respect, for me, sitting at home and watching TV can often be just as much fun as going out. But, when I DO go out, I enjoy going to museums, dining out, going to a baseball game (go Yanks!), or even taking a leisurely walk. Sharing these experiences with family, friends, or a significant other often makes the experience more rewarding. However, I also value alone-time which allows me to be reflective. This can be personal reflection which leads to greater self-knowledge/awareness; sometimes it is spiritual reflection; or sometimes I am simply contemplating the beauty of nature... a tree with bright red leaves in autumn, a peaceful snowfall, seeing the brightness of the moon against the night sky. These are all things which I appreciate, and I hope my partner will appreciate them too.

  • Carolyn, 40 from New York, NY
    40, New York, NY
I am passionate about helping to spread kindness and joy all over the world. I invest my whole heart into relationships, friendships, interests, and basically everything I do as life is too short to not make the best of it. I'm also very passionate about my dogs. My free time is limited but I try to make the most of it. I enjoy ballroom dancing. Favorites include waltz, hustle, swing, and cha cha. I also like playing golf, tennis, pool, ping-pong, and bowling- even though I am not exactly a pro in any of them. Seeing Broadway musicals always brings a huge smile to my face- I see at least 15 a year. I also enjoy playing board games (including Scrabble, Cranium, Beyond Balderdash, Pictionary...), baking, going to movies, singing, restaurants, beaches, lakes, pools, waterskiing, exercising at the gym, museums... I like to keep myself active and try new activities. I do not watch much TV.

I am very spontaneous and have a passion for horses, music and cooking. I am looking for a gentleman who can make me laugh till it hurts.; someone who can bring out my best and connect spiritually and emotionally.
