My sons have completed high school and are out on their own. As a single parent, it has been a journey. We spent many hours at the church volunteering, etc. Outside of the church, I volunteered with the boys at an animal shelter, scouts, and soccer. Now, I am beginning to relearn living on my own. Church is the first priority. But revisiting my other interests are becoming important. Things like music, art, crafts, plays, gardening, etc

Most of my friends see me as an "out of the box" type of person, meaning that when God created me, He threw away the mold :) I can be very quiet, seen as serious at times, yet can be a bit of a playful clown in order not to take things so seriously. They also see me as a person who, tries hard to stay on the narrow path going to Heaven. Prayer is not only something I do, it's a way of life for me. It's that crucial to who I really am... Like many others I actually enjoy, Nature, genuine affection, sincerity of words, the company of friends, laughter, children's way of perceiving the world - simple, direct, uncomplicated. The older I get the more I prefer simplicity. If nothing else it sure saves alot of time... In the Myers Brigg analysis of personality types - I am an INFJ the rarest of personality types. I've come to believe that in knowing oneself, it not only is freeing but quite practical as well.

I am passionate about life, looking at the glass half full instead of half empty. I am friendly, confident, out going, full of energy and have a passion for life! I enjoy spending time with family and friends. Love the outdoors but also love cuddling in front of a fireplace in the winter. I am hoping to find someone to spend life experiences with and develop a relationship. Mother Theresa, now a Saint has been influential with her compassion for the poor and sick. " Give the world the best you have and it may never be enough. Give your best anyway." My leisure time, I enjoy running small races or just relaxing at a local coffee shop. I love walking the beach especially at sunset and the mountains during the fall in front of a fireplace with someone special. Enjoy a good glass of wine and conversation or just having a cup of coffee ( latte is my favorite). I love this saying: "Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain!" Let's dance!

I am a self-employed psychologist who works with women on women's issues. I was married for 34 years but 4 years ago I went through a friendly divorce. I lived in Raleigh for 20 years prior to the divorce, then moved to the Fort Myers area for 3 years, as I love the water and warmth! I decided to come back to Raleigh so I could be a practicing psychologist again (must have a PhD in FL) and because one of my daughters lives here with my grandson. It's been fun, but something is missing! I'm a spur of the moment, southern gal with a quick wit. I also enjoy deep conversations on many subjects and would like to meet someone who is easy to talk with, easy to be with. I look forward to what the future may hold and am struggling with the Church's teaching on remarriage after divorce. I'm as comfortable in flip flops and capris as I am dressed up. More later....

I love outdoor activities... Esp those that that involve water sports ( swimming, sailing, fishing, boating). I also enjoy spending time walking/hiking with my Golden Retriever rescue dog "Bailey", and checking out different trails and parks in North Carolina. I just love being outside... But I'm not big on cold weather.... I had enough of that in the many years I lived in Michigan growing up! I am an RN and work in practice management that allows me to help others, improving their lives through improved care and timely services. Helping others is gratifying and I love knowing we have helped our patients feel more comfortable, confidant and knowledgable about their heart disease. Strong friendships and loving family relationships are the cornerstone of my life, providing me with joy, camarderie, emotional and mental stimulus... I treasure the people in my life and love meeting new and people.

My close friends would say "I am well put together; a little bit flirty, a little bit unpredictable and totally caring. All in one 5'1" package. I have a good sense of humor. I feel equally at home in jeans or a classic dinner dress. I am outgoing and have a zest for life. I have a wonderful family and friends. While my family and church community are caring and supportive, I would love to share good conversation and special moments with a great man. I enjoy watching sunrises and sunsets, walking on the beach, letting gentle waves touch my toes. I get excited about exploring new leisure time activities such as photography, golf, and finding out about new exciting travel destinations. Sharing special times with a gentle-man, who enjoys life, excites my romantic nature and comes very naturally from my French heritage. I don't know what the future has in store., but as I have approached life in the past with faith, an open mind and heart, I will embrace new adventures. If you're a young at heart senior, who would enjoy walking bare foot on a beach or appreciate the natural beauty of a National Park, I would like to hear from you.

I'm enjoying my "retirement honeymoon" and the freedom it offers me to spend time with my grandkids and pursue other passions including writing, making & selling crafts. I love the opportunity to be creative and interact with people. And of course the bit of pin money is nice too! My late husband was a career Navy man, so I have lived and traveled much of the world, and published a humorous book about our adventures. Originally from upstate NY, I have been here for the past 20 years. I would like to find someone with whom I have "an easy, peaceful feeling" and know he won't let me down. Honesty and trust are vital and I have no time for "players."

From what I can detect, everyone on a dating site is looking for a someone who's a faithful, honest person with high morals - is not into playing games, is close to their family, enjoys walks on the beach, holding hands, trips to the mountains, loves to cook and dine out, and is not looking for a purse or a nurse, takes pride in their appearance and lives a purposeful life, and wants to explore the world, etc. That's basically what's important to me and what I would like to find in someone. A sense of humor is crucial... the ability to laugh at yourself (and at me) is important. I had a very successful marriage of 24 years to a wonderful man, but was widowed 27 years ago. I remarried thirteen years later; that ended in divorce and an annulment in my church! No baggage, my glass is more than half full and I have accepted all the ups and downs in my life as necessary because they have made me who and what I am now; older, wiser, and appreciative of so many things. I enjoy the simple things in life and appreciate the finer things. I am Hospice Volunteer, was a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) and have facilitated Bereavement Support Groups. I am active in my church and in my community. Life is good, and can be enhanced when shared with that special someone. My good friend is encouraging me to explore this online venture and has said, "Life is short, if someone captures your eye, look further, they may capture your heart."

I like viewing life as an adventure, and learning something new everyday. I like the way God paints his marvelous pictures, of his creation, in my mind. I look forward to getting out of bed and being, "vertical", and greeting the day, as it unfolds. And I believe in the Power of God, and his miracles, "that perhaps we don't see", yet know, He's there. "the unseen". I also like trying to see life as a child, and I don't wanna grow up, and don't like calendar neurosis. I'ts been a long ride through life, but, God, as I live and breathe, has kept me alive, despite all the miracles, he's given me. And I do believe in miracles, "because He has touched me in so many ways,", with many.
