I grew up Catholic all my life and left for awhile, but have returned for 3 yrs now. I have recently took an interest in the Latin Mass as well. It's a learning process and a great decision that I have made. There seems to be a connectivity and all around same beliefs and structure which I enjoy. My family is very important as so my friends. I do have a large circle of both. I would like to have children someday but right now it's not a top priority. I cannot physically have kids, but want to adopt or do fostering.I'm a very laid back person and love to take life as it is handed to me. For fun, I enjoy most outdoor activities that the Midwest has to offer, such as fishing, camping and sports. Some nights I also just like to be a homebody and enjoy a good movie on the TV. On the flip side, I also like to go out dancing and have a few drinks. I do not drink to get drunk, but wine with a meal I like. I wouldn't even consider myself a "social" drinker.. more like every once in a great while.

I'm easy going and I smile a lot. I am definitely social and make friends easily. I like to do just about anything outdoors in almost any weather. I like to eat really good food and I appreciate a good bottle of wine, but I generally prefer beer. I live simply and will splurge on something from time to time. Like a fatbike! I am an excellent cribbage player. I like to think Jesus is the center of my life; however, I am not perfect so I don't expect anyone else to be. I have a strong connection to Madonna House (a catholic lay apostolate in Canada) where I lived for a year and a half. I also spent a year as a Passionist lay volunteer in Jamaica. I grew up in ND, I've lived in many places and had a variety of adventures and jobs. I am currently in an accelerated BA to BSN program in Morehead I will be a Registered Nurse when I am finished. I'm planning to move once I am finished in Dec of 2017, but one never knows. The best way to make God laugh is to tell him your plans!

I never thought I would be the type of person that would try online dating, but after the urging of some friends and family, I thought what-the-heck. After much deliberation, I decided to go with Catholic Match, because faith and values are very important to me. There are too many dating sites out there, and many of the people on them do not seem like they have the best intentions. So here I am I have been a born and raised Catholic all of my life. I attend church weekly and would love to find someone who feels that church is just as important. I am very driven individual. I try to dream big, and then work to make those dreams a reality. I am a shy person by nature, and sometimes can make people nervous at my quietness, but will open up once you get to know me. I am a very caring person, and I believe that loyalty, trust, and faithfulness are very important in our everyday lives. I have always adored children, so I became a teacher. I also have always loved books and I worked in the library in high school, so I became a librarian as well. In my job, I have the ability to do both, so I get to teach every day and be around books every day.

I love Jesus, Mary and the Catholic Church. I enjoy helping other people, hanging out with friends, going to the movies, listening to music, dancing, Texas, and anything to do with Captain America. My Catholic faith is super important to me and all my actions stem from it. I am close with my family even though I live over 1500 miles away from them. I enjoy reading books about my faith.

  • Christie, 20 from Bismarck, ND
    20, Bismarck, ND
Hey! My name is Christie, I'm currently a sophomore/junior at the University of Mary. I'm studying history and education and I aspire to be a high school history teacher. In about two months I'll be going to Rome for a semester with my school, and I hope to use this as a time for discernment. As most 20-something's feel, this is a confusing time in our lives and every day is a new adventure where anything is possible. I can't imagine what God has planned for my future, the only thing I can imagine is that He is probably just laughing at my plan for it. So, a little about me I suppose. I'm from Minneapolis originally, and I love it dearly. I hope one day to move back there and raise a family. I love walking around the lakes and feeding the ducks, and seeing the local bands preform at the Bandshell. Winter is probably my favorite season, to be honest. I've been a skier ever since I was a little girl, and so I also greatly enjoy sledding. To me, there would be no better day than to spend it out skiing on a mountain all day and going out for cheeseburgers and live music. Which leads me to another point; dancing is a passion of mine. God must have known this as He blessed me with rather short stature to enable all sorts of lifts and swing aerials. I was born catholic, however my family was more on the nominally catholic side. We attended Sunday mass but I never really understood how it applied to my life the rest of the week. Enter: GK Chesterton. After a lifetime at public schools I wanted out, I wanted a more meaningful education for my high school years. By random, wonderfully divine chance, I stumbled upon a school called Chesterton Academy. I was immediately hooked. My freshman year of high school was the first time I had any sort of serious theology, and I read GK Chesterton's Orthodoxy. When I say this combination was life changing, it's an understatement. It radically changed everything in my life; my priorities, the way I thought, the way I organized my day, how I treated my family and spoke to people; I mean really, everything. I hope one day to return as a teacher there, but that day still remains shrouded in the mist of the future. Well, as I mentioned, I am currently a student and students have class; I would write more but my night class calls (North Dakota history, really it's much more interesting than it sounds!) and so I must sign off here. God bless, and thanks for taking the time to read about me, I do appreciate it. [?].
